Let’s start planning
Now let’s figure out the categories in the system and have the desire for each of them. Also, let’s say that each section will have three questions at most.
Frame of mind
1. Are you satisfied with your life?
- Replies "NO", "I DON'T KNOW", "SOMETIMES" will direct the recipient to the section of a need for a supplement to improve the frame of mind
2. Do you sometimes feel lonely?
- Replies "YES", "VERY", "SOMETIMES", "I DON'T KNOW", "YES, I FEEL LONELY" will direct the recipient to the section of a need for a supplement to improve the frame of mind
3. Do you sometimes feel that life is too hard?
- Replies "YES", "VERY", "SOMETIMES", "I DON'T KNOW", "YES, I FEEL THAT" will direct the recipient to the section of a need for a supplement to improve the frame of mind
Weight
1. Are you satisfied with your weight?
- Replies "NO", "I DON'T KNOW", "SOMETIMES" will direct the recipient to the section of a need for a supplement to lose weight
2. Do you do any sports regularly?
- Replies "NO", "I DON'T KNOW", "SOMETIMES" will direct the recipient to the section of a need for a supplement to lose weight
3. Do you feel good in your body?
- Replies "NO", "I DON'T KNOW", "SOMETIMES" will direct the recipient to the section of a need for a supplement to lose weight
Appearance
1. Do you think you are attractive?
- Replies "NO", "I DON'T KNOW", "SOMETIMES" will direct the recipient to the section of a need for a supplement to improve the appearance
2. Do you notice that people like to look at you?
- Replies "NO", "I DON'T KNOW", "SOMETIMES" will direct the recipient to the section of a need for a supplement to improve the appearance
3. Do you notice that people are trying to flirt with you?
- Replies "NO", "I DON'T KNOW", "SOMETIMES" will direct the recipient to the section of a need for a supplement to improve the appearance
Start creating the bot
Let’s make the system by using the Google Actions tool, shall we? Check it out and follow along by clicking
here. This should be your first project co click the "New Project" button.
First thing to do is accept the terms. After that, we have to give our project a name, select the place where the system will operate and then, the language.
Let’s pick a template
Here, we have to determine the type of app our system has to be. In this case, it will be a test, so let’s go with “Game”.
The next step will show us some projects ready to be used. You should see all of them to check which one will suit you and your vision. The "Personality Quiz 2" project seems to contain all I need.
Now it’s done. We are close to home! Click "Get Started" now.
The system I want to be made will be possible thanks to Google sheets. It also has some sheet templates. I can adjust them to my visual needs. Now, click on the name of this sheet.
Now, in order to adjust the template, I have to make a copy of it. And we’re done!

Let’s edit
There are some tabs. Each of them deals with a different bot’s option. Here you can see the explanation:
Let’s start with "Intro Quiz". We can use three greetings. Our system will randomly pick one of them to start a conversation with the recipient.
I’m going with:
- Hi. It's great to hear you. I am very glad that you decided to take care of your health. This is very important for you and your loved ones. Do you want to answer some questions?
- Hi. It's great to hear you. I am very glad that you decided to take care of your health. I will help you with this. Do you want to answer some questions?
As you can see, I want only two options. That’s why I’m deleting the third one. Now, the "Quiz Intro" tab looks something like this:
Time for a "Q&A Quiz" tab with three sections:
- professional,
- normal,
- traditional.
Let’s change the sections into the ones I’m going to use:
- frame of mind,
- weight,
- appearance.
Now let’s change the questions to those that I have written before. What we’re doing next is deleting one question from each section. Why? Because each section contains four questions in the sheet. I have only three.
Now it’s time to finish the C column which contains affirmative replies. In my system, those may lead to the need for a dietary supplement. Each reply is separated by the "|" sign.
We have to change the negative answers which mean those that will not direct the recipient to the option that shows the need for dietary supplement.
Now I finish the "Q&A Quiz" tab. Check it out by clicking
here.
After changing the section names, everything looks like this:
Let’s go to the particular conclusions and assume that my page is
www.yourhealth.com. I have three descriptions, one for each sections:
- For the "appearance" section: It's okay that you don't feel good about yourself. We live in a time when it's popular. You're not alone. On www.yourhealth.com, you will find people like you who decided to use Active Shield.
- For the "weight" sections: If you don't feel comfortable with your weight, we can do something about it. There are effective remedies to help you lose weight.
- For the "frame of mind" sections: So you've been feeling bad lately. This is very bad news. Your mental state can affect your entire life. At www.yourhealth.com you will find information about dealing with problems and remedies to help you feel better.
Also, we need to anticipate the following scenarios:
- "Affirmative" replies: The answers to the questions suggest that something is happening to you. I believe that you may need some help. If you want to know more, visit www.yourhealth.com, where you can get help and find some remedies that will improve your health. Check www.yourhealth.com.
- "Negative" replies: Wow, you are perfectly healthy! Congratulations! Nevertheless, if you wish to stay in that condition, remember to visit www.yourhealth.com.
In a situation of reacting affirmatively to both sections, let’s mix the individual section replies by adding the word "Additionally" between them.
Move on to the "Quiz Settings" section. I’m changing the amount of questions to at least seven instead of three.
Now, because I don’t want to cause any uncertainty in the user, I’m leaving the next option on "Yes".
We’re finishing with "General Prompts." It’s about the possibility of changing the system’s reaction to what's going on. I'm going for the following sections:
- “What is spoken and displayed when user's answer to the introduction question INTRO-CONFIRMATION is positive”
- “What is spoken and displayed the first time when the user's answer does not match either a positive or negative response to the INTRO-CONFIRMATION question.”
The first section is the voice assistant's reaction to agreeing to answer questions. A reaction like “So, I have a short quiz for you…” doesn't suit the system, so I'm switching it to: “So I have interesting questions for you”, “Great, so here are my questions for you”, and “Perfect, so I have some questions for you”.
I’m switching “Do you want to start the quiz?” to “Want to hear some questions?”.
There’s plenty of opportunities in this tab but I’m not changing anything. That means we are done with the sheet. Let’s load it into Google Console.
Remember about checking our sheet here:

Testing
Let’s go back a little.
Now, let’s paste the link to our sheet and go with "UPLOAD".
Now "Go to simulator" for testing.
Always bear in mind that anytime you need, you can just return to the sheet to adjust it to your need.
Great! Your application for a voice search system is done!
Publishing
To publish the application, it needs to be verified by the Google team. Now I’ll show you how to publish it after it was verified.
How will people talk to my bot?
It will be a simple voice command, like "Talk to delicious.com".
Even more advanced applications? Sure
There’s a way to make the application from scratch using the Google's tool - Dialogflow.
Even though the tool does require some coding skills, it also has a database that will give you the opportunity to learn some parts of the available features. Good news for you is a tool called Ideta which will make everything easier for you. It allows you to create voicebots which are built on simple systems. Once you’re done with creating in Ideta, you can transfer it to Dialogflow.
Bear in mind that publishing applications costs from 19 euros per month for a single bot.
Way of promoting
Here three factors are taken into account.
Location
The most important thing is choosing the country where voice assistance technology is available. Of course, picking one where the solution is popular would help, too. The example for that could be the USA.
Place
As I mentioned before, the application ought to be an addition to your traffic source. If you have a website that can help you generate traffic from your voice bot, that’s great.
Promotion can be possible thanks to articles, videos, or social media posts. The possibilities are limitless here.
Unfortunately, choosing a target group for a given content is difficult. It’s not a piece of cake to get to voice assistants users but let’s not forget about mobile device owners, who can also use a Google assistant. Facebook and Instagram ads can help you target your ads so that they show up on a particular system. If it’s an Android, it’s more likely Google Assistant will be used more than any other assistant.
It’s way harder with targeting an audience for mobile devices because you never know which device was used. If it's a desktop, the potential for such a customer is really low. It’s the smartphone users that are the number one when it comes to the regularity of browsing a mailbox (according to Email Monday research, it’s 81% of mailbox owners). Therefore, there’s a big possibility that your audience opens a message that promotes a voice assistant, but you have to say that about 20% of them will see it on the computer.
Age
As you can see, people who use smart speakers the most frequently are those aged 18-29. However, the data show that age is not necessarily the most dominant value here.
Here you can see the regularity of use of smart speaker’s users.
FAQ
Will I earn from this?
To put it shortly - of course. It will take some time, though. But it’s definitely something worth focusing on. Why? It’s innovative. And once you do something as a pioneer, there’s a high chance of having a strong position in it. It’s just an investment like any other.
If I don’t have a website, should I still do it?
It’s worth mentioning that these days running a website doesn't require any programming skills. And no, you don't need a website, but it will be much easier if you have one. Why? You will have the possibility to suggest visiting it. Also, there will be a great opportunity to put your affiliate links there. The best thing would be having your traffic source in the form of a website. With a blog, for example, you can use it for promoting your voicebot.
In case you’re interested in this, we have a blog post about running a website with no coding skills. Read it by clicking
here.
Is there a possibility for Google Home to remind its users about the follow-up basis?
Sure, once you go to the Google Home settings, you will find there a notification information. Remember that if you want to receive any notifications, you must first agree to that.

Thanks alot for the thread.
The thread about the messenger bot was really interesting already and this one is absolutely amazing as well.
I really like that you post about rather unknown or not widely used things that are still very interesting nonetheless.
Especially thinking about the future the messenger bots and voice searches will probably become much bigger anyway.
Thanks also that you don´t just post few lines about it but rather deliver us such detailed walkthroughs.
Hats off for that
Would be great to read more from you, you definitely know how to present underpresented topics
