Hello STM fam, been running abit Taboola and see such wild difference vs RevC & alot of different approaches. Wondering if any more experienced here can chime in on best & their approach to campaigns / if I'm doing it right for US Traffic
Currently:
Smart bid -> Optimized -> .5 Desktop start for US -> test a decent amount of creatives / LP's split across creatives to prevent cloaking ban -> then duplicate out a new camp with the winning creatives and not touch anything other than widget through theoptimizer as hear touching creatives + bids ruins campaigns and scared to test haha.
50c bid on US desktop is probably too low, especially if you're early on and trying to test creatives and landers. At that bid you'll mostly get traffic from their push and clickbait sources and not the premium sites.
Taboola is a great place to test landers and funnels, but a pretty awful one for testing creatives. The optimized setting will basically hone in on whichever creative gets the best CTR in the first day or two, and the way their system works won't be a fair test anyways, as they tend to test creative's 1-2 at a time rather than all at once.
