Are "Make Money Pills" effective - as an offer idea?
Hi,
I'm currently brain storming for new product ideas. Usually I create make money online offers which I then market via FB ads with a vsl (video sales letter) - it costs about 70€/$ on the front end. So far so good.
I noticed that 2 years ago you had lots of digital weight loss offers on Clickbank ranking on the first page. I ran a few of them.
Today it's still weight loss but instead of digital eBooks they sell weight loss pills (like Resurge or Okinawa Diet). The sales process is still the same. FB Ad --> Presell --> VSL --> Order Page. But the average order value went from 60$ (ebooks) to 150$ (pills). The conversion rate is still the same which means to me that this must be impulse purchases for 150$.
For some reason people are willing to pay more for pills than for an eBook. I mean I just can't imagine that weight loss pills are more effective than a decent eBook with good information.
Now I'm wondering: Is there an equivalent to online courses in the making money online niche that people would simply spend more money on because they perceive the product as higher value?
I was thinking about software licenses, crypto stuff, or a fancy AI that makes money for you by pushing a button (which sounds like swallow this pill and lose weight).
Any ideas?

An ebook requires an effort to read it, while the pill does not. I agree with you that the ebook is probably more effective to reach the goal, but from the selling perspective, i would bet the pill wins because of the effort factor.

The pill equivalent for a book, would be a "book summary" app, because it removes the pain of actually reading the book (and also the benefit of thinking/brainstorming about what you read, but that's another story...). There is a famous web marketer selling his app using selfie and the line "CEO read 50 books a years". Can't remember its name. (Edit: That's Tai Lopez Mentorbox)
Another idea: Ben Settle is launching a nice white-label app concept, where you publish all your the content dropped into an app on your client phone, so the level of interaction is way higher, and you can push products more directly. It allows subscription based business. Check Learnistic.com

This is such a great summary of why pills do better. I’m totally going to steal it
And from a sales perspective: you can get subscription rebills with a pill. Hard to do that with an ebook

I believe I've seen stuff similar to what you're talking about in the past- on Clickbank too- in terms of those "done for you" cash-generating sites, or "plug and earn" affiliate systems.
I agree with @
jeremie - people sadly prefer the illusion of an "instant fix with zero effort" than an actual solution that requires action
But yeah, in same vein would be crypto bot... crypto "get rich copying my trades" system, etc.
I actually think there's a huge vacuum for a really high-quality (comparatively) crypto info product on Clickbank right now. If someone could just take some basic info that would be digestible even to Boomers and sell it via a nice VSL I think that would do great right now. Just basic stuff like how to onboard money onto exchanges, custodial vs non-custodial storage, diversifying beyond just BTC and ETH, how to understand market cap, etc. Of course you'd want to sell it way sexier than that, but I think you could justify the price for an info product like that aimed at the less crypto-savvy population. Again though, most people would be disappointed since they want a "magic pill" as you said, but I guess the secret is hitting that sweet spot where you give them the 'sexy magic pill' experience but actually provide them real value on the backend as well.
Anyway would love to find out what you end up doing!

That's for sure. The magic pill is always more attractive. Even if you're aware of that it still doesn't stop your mind from favouring the pill over the real solution.
Yet, the information products also had a "magic pill". Like a 2 minute morning ritual where you just put your legs against the wall, relax and lose weight. Something like that.
My thought is that people prefer something phyisical that they can actually touch and hold in their hands (and therefore feel that they have control over it and can interact with it - swallowing it). A pill is also associated with medicine and doctors. People who we learned to trust. An eBook or video training can not deliver that.
Applying that to making money online it could be an app because 1) people can hold it in their hands (via their smartphone), 2) they can interact with it, and if it looks serious like their trusted banking app they also might trust it because most people trust their bank.

I like that. I've never done apps before but it looks as if you can send people push notifications via the app.
There are 2 ideas which I had yesterday:
1) Creating a video training where people learn how to create their own cryptocurrency, wallet, whitepaper, etc. The reason is that I see the angle working. Explaining in a vsl (or webinar) why people fail with investing in crypto - THE BIGGER FOOL CONCEPT - and then presenting the solution. Instead of following the herd/hype create your own cryprocurrency. An "Instead of investing in a bank, create your own bank, have others invest in it. This is how you get really rich" - approach. And the bank is your crypto wallet and your currency is the crypto currency which you created before.
The upsell could be how to drive traffic and promote your "bank".
I don't know how to create a cryptocurrency yet, but it seems to be rather simple. If the customers get a code template which is easy to edit and the currency can be generated by a push of a button (and the wallet, too) they might have their "magic pill to richness" created on their smartphones witht the push of a button.
Maybe people would spend 147€ for that on the front end (if promoted via vsl to cold traffic). Promoting that via webinar would allow a way higher price point.
2) The second idea was to create my own cryptocurrency which my existing customers can buy and hold on their smartphone with my own specific wallet app.
Yet, I'm not sure how to monatize that effectively. Why should they buy my coins? Maybe they could get discounts when buying my new products. Instead of 400$ just 300$ for those who pay with my coins. Yet, if they spend the coins the value of the coin probably drops. Hmm... but they sold. So they could buy new coins at a low price which makes it go up again. While new customers coming into the training also buy coins and then increase the price even further. Then I launch the next product which they can buy with a big discount again... then they are stuck in a loop. I'm just brainstormin here how it could work.
More ideas are welcome
