Content arbitrage?

Hi,

A few newbie questions:

I'm not too familiar with Native ads. While doing research on working, proven strategies to sell a health wellness info product, it looks like pages with most views I found at https://affbank.com/ are not promoting any offers. Is this like Content arbitrage making money w adsense? i.e. https://www.womensarticle.com/top-10...ies-to-visit/?

If so, is the reason most visited pages/sites are doing content arbitrage that it's more lucrative than other biz model like affiliate marketing, ecom?

If it'd be possible/a good idea to do both, what're some of the successful sites doing this especially in health niche? i.e. running ad sense while promoting aff or ecom offers

Thanks

Great question @leewyhertlein

Yes, "Content Arbitrage" is EXTREMELY common on native...

I would say its more common than Affiliate Funnels, and is also more common than "Search Arbitrage", which you'll also see (when you send someone to google or yahoo search results on a parked domain and get paid when they click on them).

But yeah, you can definitely make tons of money with Content Arbitrage, but there are some major barriers to entry...

Most of the people doing it successfully have a combination of 4-5 different ad types on the landing pages, and they split-test the heck out of the funnels to find what works best, and they need the approval of the traffic source to run it.

In the old days the traffic sources would let someone run Content-Arb no matter what, and you had people buying ads on Taboola to send to pages covered in Revcontent ads, etc.

Eventually though the networks got stricter, and I *believe* most now only allow it if you have their own ads on the landing page.

As a result, this means you would need to get approved not just as an advertiser with them but also a publisher.

So yeah, I'm sure its doable... and I would like to try it myself eventually... but its definitely much more difficult to get started in than regular affiliate campaigns...

Indeed, if I'm not mistaken, most of the outfits doing it are pretty darn big and often have big teams of people working on the campaigns, etc.

If you're interested in it, looks up "Shinez" here on STM, or on YouTube... they do it and tried to create an affiliate-model for it... though I believe they pretty much just focus on Facebook in that regard... partially because of how strict the native networks are around it...

As far as including ads on a landing page that has an affiliate offer on it, that's more doable... just comes down to 1) whether the traffic network is okay with it, and 2) seeing how it affects conversion rates.

Definitely worth testing!

I'd recomend to read two grat threads from "platinum" who happens to be a native expert, both about native search arbitrage:
