Does anyone use squeeze pages on Google Ads?
I'm still not sure reading their terms & conditions if it's allowed or not (user experience/landing page violation)
So as of now I've been sending people to a landing page that has a couple opt-in fields (one at the top and one at the bottom) but also a few paragraphs of content just to kind of cover my ass.
Right now my opt in rate is only about 15% which seems kind of low?
Curious what kind of optin rates you guys are seeing on Google Ads?
So basically I'm promoting a course I created, and the lead magnet is the first part of the course free, so there is some value in the offer.
I just have no idea whether a 15% opt in rate is good or terrible as I have nothing really to compare it to lol.
Thanks in advance.
I'm sure real experts will chime in soon, but from what I remember, squeeze and bridge pages are allowed on google ads as long as it is part of a site which has other 'valuable' content.
So, if the squeeze page is on the same domain as a blog and has links to that blog with other useful articles, then it should be okay.
If it only has a opt-in form and no other links or info, it probably won't last very long.
I'm under the impression they are not enforcing that much such rule. Although they state it in their policy, you can practically run normal landers without a problem, just avoid doing anything shady or have a dead root domain. This way at least you'll avoid triggering any red flags.
Hey guys thanks for your input.
The website is actually for a course I'm selling. It's not a blog, but there is other content.
For example the homepage is a sales page, then I have the usual about me, contact, privacy policy, terms and conditions etc.
So there's content, just not as much as say a blog.
Also I'm not using a very low content squeeze page (ie paragraph + opt in). Like there is content on the page that I ask people to opt in to.
I'm not doing anything shady, just trying to collect emails with a lead magnet to sell my course.
But Google's Ads terms of service are so vague it's hard to tell so just wanted to get other people's experiences with squeeze pages.
This is their policy for your reference

That said, i agree with @platinum, they are not that strict.
I would say that the quality of the page affects their quality score and filter out the worse pages when there is competition. If you have a shitty page, they will charge you more.
On keywords with low or no competition, their approach seems to be closer to "i'll take your money, because no one else want that space anyway".
For things they can automatically detect (like redirect, popups), they are probably more strict.
I've found that squeeze pages work the best with Google Ads. If you drop users to your homepage, they can get a little distracted with navigational elements and things you might now want them to focus on. A squeeze page can focus their attention on the task you need them to complete. Of course, it's best that the squeeze page is well formatted, and I've found that including a link to the homepage doesn't have a huge negative effect on conversion rate, and it seems like the right thing to do for user experience.
I hope this helps!
