Absolute beginner starting with push, pls hlep

Hello all!

I'm going to start a follow along here, but probably not for a week or 2 so I have more time to gather information before I start running campaigns.

I am completely new to this and have a few questions I would love to get some help with first. Sorry if some of these are questions that I could easily find answers to elsewhere in the forum, please just add links to existing posts that will help me out if you can!

So far, I have read through Vortex 40 day tutorial and Twinaxe push tutorial, and I spent about $2.50 on a campaign with a Haka offer with push traffic on propeller ads without using a lander, just to make sure I had set everything up right. Obviously didn't make any money on that, didn't even make any conversions, but everything seems to be working fine.

So here are my questions!

- It seems like everyone is saying the "rip and run" approach for landers doesn't work anymore, so I am thinking that I should read all the info about copywriting on here, download a bunch of good landers from adplexity for inspiration and then make my own. I have basic coding knowledge and am a fast learner, so the html/javascript part of that shouldn't be a huge setback. Do you think this is a good way to go about it at first, or should I just go for the rip and run approach to start?

- I have been accepted into Haka and Mobipium. Haka has offered me about 30 sms offers, and Mobipium has offered me hundreds of carrier billing offers. What do you think it's best for me to start with? The Haka offers kinda look like trash, they are like really badly designed block colour pages offering free iPhone 10's or sexy girl chats if you submit your phone number, I am just doubtful many people would actually be enticed by something like that in reality. I reckon it's probably better to start with the Mobipium carrier billing offers if I ask my AM which ones are performing well? Is carrier billing likely to be profitable at all either, or should I ask my AM for access to the dating and/or sweepstakes offers to start with instead?

- I have also been accepted into Adsterra, but I am confused as to why they are asking me to top up my balance before being able to do anything. Is Adsterra also a traffic source? I thought it was just an affiliate network.

- I have been unable to find a post explaining how to add a landing page to your funnel on funnel flux. I don't understand where to upload your html and stuff. I'm sure there is a post somewhere on here that runs through how to do this, if someone could send me to that, I will be very pleased, thank you.

P.S. if my username is making you picture me as some swole gym dude shotgunning a beer while I write this post, sadly you are mistaken, I am simply a poor skinny musician from New Zealand looking to make a couple bucks hehe

If that would be the case you wouldn't see so many very similar landers on the spy tools.

With music it is not that much different. "Copying" is called inspiration there. You probably know --> Axis of Awesome - 4 Four Chord Song

The Haka offers kinda look like trash, they are like really badly designed block colour pages
Red light districts are very sketchy all over the world. Still many people love to go there.

Read Twinaxe's case study on Haka and you will be amazed on how much money you can make with such "trash"

so I am thinking that I should read all the info about copywriting on here
For pop and push landers you don´t need that copywriting skills

download a bunch of good landers from adplexity for inspiration and then make my own
Don´t make your own yet, you have not enough experience to do so.,

There is a reason why you see the same landers in spytools over and over again - because they work.

Change them a bit or so but don´t try to come up with own ideas, at least not as long as you are a beginner.

What do you think it's best for me to start with?
Haka is good to start with.

The Haka offers kinda look like trash, they are like really badly designed block colour pages offering free iPhone 10's or sexy girl chats if you submit your phone number, I am just doubtful many people would actually be enticed by something like that in reality.
Important lesson: It doesn´t matter how an offer looks, it´s only important that it converts.

You can have high end looking offers that don´t convert at all and you can have shitty looking offers that convert like crazy.

Don´t rely on assumptions, only numbers will tell the truth.

- I have also been accepted into Adsterra, but I am confused as to why they are asking me to top up my balance before being able to do anything. Is Adsterra also a traffic source? I thought it was just an affiliate network.
Adsterra is a trafficsource and no CPA network.

- I have been unable to find a post explaining how to add a landing page to your funnel on funnel flux. I don't understand where to upload your html and stuff. I'm sure there is a post somewhere on here that runs through how to do this, if someone could send me to that, I will be very pleased, thank you.
You need a server to host your files.

Maybe it´s a good idea to use Landerlab.io, they take care about all that stuff so that you can focus on your campaigns.

Ok great! Thanks for the help, I'll start with the Haka offers then, and edit the landers I find on adplexity.

One more question I forgot to ask! Does your tracker domain name make a difference, because it is visible on the push notifications? Is it better to use a domain name that is somehow related to the offers you are running? I’ve read that the lander domain name matters, but no one seems to be saying anything about the tracker domain name

Actually...

https://adsterra.com/cpanetwork/

They started a CPA network. It’s not the traffic source, so don’t get them confused.

In 2021, we are launching a new global CPA platform that combines all the benefits of working with Adsterra and more.
Holy crap, you're right.

For several years already I have the login page in my bookmarks so I never checked other pages on Adsterra.

Ok, seems that now they are a CPA network as well.

Hey, welcome to MOBIPIUM! Carrier Billing offers are great to start with. Just make sure you ask your AM to recommend you the best ones so you don't waste any traffic!

There's a lot of debate on this whether you're in push, pops, native, etc if I'm not mistaken...

You definitely don't *need* a good domain name, whether for your landing pages or your tracker... but a lot of folks believe that having a domain name that "inspires trust" can increase conversion rates.

This would apply for both your domain name where you host your landing pages and your tracker domain, but especially the domain name for your landers.

If someone lands on a site call zh1337.sppze77xxxe.io they may be a bit weirded out... compared to a nice generic name like walletsaver.com or something like that...

With tracking domains I think people are a little more used to seeing weird domains though, so that's not as big, but for native I do personally like to use nice-looking branded tracking domains.

I don't know much about the type of stuff you're running but I would just take my cue from what you see in the spytools... if weird domains are the norm then I'm sure you'll be fine with them. If everyone else has nice-looking branded domains then go with that

I've just noticed something strange from the first test campaign that I ran to make sure I had everything set up correctly. The cost is different in the tracker than it is in the traffic source.
Propeller ads says I spent $5.06 for 174 clicks, whereas Funnel Flux says I spent $2.35 for 85 "visits". Is it possible that I haven't set up one of the tracking links correctly that would cause this?

That´s called trafficloss or clickloss.

It happens that not all traffic that leaves the trafficsource arrives at the tracker.

Sometimes it´s more, sometimes less.

The difference in the cost shown at the trafficsource vs tracker is because the trafficsource shows cost for all traffic they send you but the tracker can only track cost for traffic that arrived there.

When the trafficsource sends you 500 clicks at $0.01 CPC they will show $5.00 cost.

When from these 500 clicks only 400 clicks arrive the tracker it means that you have 20% clickloss and the tracker could show only the cost for 400 clicks.
