I think these days both words are use to escribe the same thing. Programmer, coder, developer ... though there are differences for sure, people often mean the same thing when they use one of these terms.

Great. I will check the link. Yes, I see some gurus use the words interchangeably. While a few others emphasize developers are more involved with front end and website design and they do more with HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc. While programmers are more into back end possibly into languages like Python, php, etc. I needed a bit clarification as it left me confused.

I'm sure there are many sub-categories within the coding/programming ecosystem, but I doubt there is any "default" naming scheme set that everyone would follow. That's why it's always a good idea to specify what you are looking for, for example when hiring someone. If you look at some job boards, people often list positions as "java developer", "iOs developer" or "c++ coder" etc...there are quite a few platforms that apps or web properties are developed for, so it's always better to go into specifics to avoid confusion.
