How the captcha and download offer work ?

Hi guys

My AM in Haka recommend me to push the captcha and download offers below because they convert well. But I don't understand how these offers work and what motivates users clicking on those offers. I started from the Vortex 40-day tutorial and mostly work with sweepstake offers, in that offer people click to have a chance to win smth and it's easy to understand the flow, but not for these captcha and download things. Which vertical do these offers belong to ?

Capcha ones

Download ones

They work same as the other click2sms offers as well.

User clicks CTA -> SMS app opens with prefilled text -> User sends SMS -> Conversion

But I don't understand how these offers work and what motivates users clicking on those offers.
Direct linked I also have no idea what the users motivation is but I also don´t care as long as it works

But you can also create different angles for such offers, for example you can even run the captacha offers with common sweep landers or adult landers.

In such case the user thinks he can win something or meet a girl and needs to verify that he is no bot before he can claim his reward

@twinaxe: Do you mean I can just run normal sweeptaker creative but than replace the iPhone offer by captcha offer ? Does it affect my ad in the long run because users will not receive what we "promise" in the creative (a chance to win an iPhone)

Just test it, get creative

I don't think it will make a difference

hi twimaxe,Could you recom some more specfic push creatives for captcha offers

I don´t use specific creatives for it, in the end you can use whatever you want.

Sweeps, dating, download creatives, just test a bit.

These offers are not linked to a specific vertical and for the users it´s just one more step to solve the captcha.

You can direct link or use the offers instead of "real" offers.
For example when you use a spinwheel lander you can send the users to a captcha offer instead of a prize.

As long as the users think they will get access to something worth it, some will click through. That's how it works. These offers pay a low payout, because they know the interest will be lower and not that targeted. But eventually, some users will still be interested and finish the whole subscription, from whatever reason. It's like shooting a shotgun, there is no point in trying to aim much, since there are dozens of small pellets in every shell... most will miss but some hit the target

Basically, you just have to get the users interest by showing them something they want (iphone, voucher...) and then make it feel like it's not available to everyone... this is psychology play and the captcha is there to show some kind of a burden that the user has to overcome to be qualified. And since most people are used to solving captchas all the time, they don't think twice and go ahead with it.

All sort of "warning" style landers work as well, because the same reason. They're telling the users that they might be getting something that's restricted just to specific audience (age, location, time constraint...) and this creates the scarcity feeling. As twinaxe mentioned, adult landers work well with this, for example.

The key here is to buy traffic at cheap, spark the interest, heat up the user with some restrictive LP type and make them WANT to get that special item not everyone can get. Most will see through the plot, by some will convert.
