How To Deal With the CNY Shipping Times? (4)
Hello STM,
I am the owner of a small dropshipping store that has been up for a few weeks. At most, I get a few orders on a daily basis. I am not at the point where I have really decided on how I want to and plan to fulfill my orders long term. Most of my sales have been shipped out from Aliexpress, where customers have frequently complained about their slow shipping times. I have looked at some of the other AliExpress alternatives but they seem to be dealing with the same problem since they are being shipped out from China.
With the Chinese New Year, my usual supplier will be taking about a full month off. It is estimated that my customers will be receiving their orders after 70 days.
We are based in the US and are currently only advertising and shipping out to US traffic. Should I just stop advertising/keep my ad costs very low for this period of time or is there another solution?

We don't have any info about the product, so it is difficult to comment much. Can't you find a US supplier that does dropship? That would help with complaints you get from customers. Even if it does not dropship, now that you have figured out what works, maybe you could order a small batch and ship yourself or use a fulfillment company in the US.
@icepick819 I just replied to your private message. You can try the sell products on aliexpress that are stored in the US? Besides that they have worldwide brands. you can also usa warehouses from udroppy, cj dropshipping too. spocket perhaps has in the US too. You can do a Google search also. Besides that after making a bit of money you can private label products that sell and expedite shipping times as you own the product. If you are doing 25pcs + daily, message the supplier on Aliexpress for their WeChat info and say you need quicker lines and are comparing costs for this across suppliers. It can cost more but lines like 4PX land in US at 10-25 days max and are still much cheaper than American suppliers. To keep payment security in beginning, you can ask them to do VIP listing on Aliexpress and use DSers, as they will may to push for T/T wire payment which is unchargebackable.
When you have history ordering with them around Christmas and CNY push for them stock and move payments to Alibaba / fulfillment to ERP. Many Aliexpress vendors are just resellers but if they know you can do numbers will stock.
