Newbie got questions

Hey everyone, say hi to the newbie!
First of all, I would like to thank you for creating and keeping this forum alive.

Let's talk a little bit about myself. I have no experience in affiliate marketing, advertising and tracking. But I have SEO knowledge, social media management knowledge, and I can create great content. I currently manage several Twitter accounts with over 100k followers.

I want to ask you all what should i do. I checked out Vortex's 40-day $1 guide and other beginner guides. But I'm not sure it's a good start for me.

For example I don't know anything about PopAds or xxx traffic sources. The best way to learn is to try it, I know. But I don't have much money for these tests. And there is a Voluum or other means to pay. I don't think I can pay for these.

I think my skill is to market a custom product manually. For example, I can market a cure for cancer patients by creating a private Facebook group and gathering people there.

Please tell me, what should I do in this situation? Should I find an offer and try it on youtube ads, seo or social media? Or should I follow the swirl guide anyway?

I think you need to answer one thing first... do you want to work with paid traffic or not?

If the answer is yes, you will need money to invest as. You will need the tools and you will need to buy the traffic. If you want to start with this part of affiliate marketing, then yes, vortex's 40-day tutorial is definitely a great begginer-friendly guide.

But if you don't have the funds to invest, starting with paid traffic makes no sense. In this case, you can utilize your skills of generating organic traffic and try to promote affiliate offers that way. You can browse our contacts directory and get enrolled with some networks, they have tons of offers that you can choose from : https://stmforum.com/affiliate-directory/

Hey matuloo, thank you for answer.

I know the best and fast way is paid traffic but as i say its expensive for me. Is there a network with high commission, continuous and abundant offers within the networks you send? What is your suggest?

There are literally dozens of solid networks, so just to name a few popular ones among the STM members including some adult networks: advidi, gotzha, maxbounty, clickdealer, adcombo, rebll, topoffers, hugeoffers, a4d, haka, Mobidea, suprememedia, jumbleberry, dfo, giddyup, clickbooth... the list can go an on. It also depends on what offer vertical you are looking for.

I think my skill is to market a custom product manually. For example, I can market a cure for cancer patients by creating a private Facebook group and gathering people there.
If you can gather a group of people for free, that all want the same things AND have money to spend, you'll be able to make money.

If you can gather a group of people for free, then there's no need to buy traffic.

Don't worry about which affiliate network to sign up for - that will come later.

This is what I would do:

1)Figure out a niche with passionate/hungry buyers.

2)Gather them (FB group, email list, push list, whatever else - the more channels you have, the better).

3)Figure out what kinds of products and services your group wants and needs. Make a list of these products and services.

4)Find out which of those products and services have affiliate programs (google's your friend). Research product/service reviews for each of them, to identify the best products and services.

5)Do research to compile a big list of useful tips and resources you can share with your group to help them get what they want.

6)Alternate between giving your group free information from 5) and promoting products/services from 4).

Nothing ground-breaking here really. You must already know this. Please tell me what I'm missing, and what you're looking for.

@vortex Thank you for answering my question and explaining the ways to follow

As you say, nothing ground-breaking here really and I already know this. But there is a little problem here. They ask you to share an existing traffic source to join most networks. I want to start a website for exist offers on the networks, but as I said, if I can't get the offers, I can't start it. I want you to guide me on which group I should join so that I can put my full focus on the offers in those groups and create organizations where I can market them. For example, in which networks are there many mattress or VPN offers, or what types of networks want us to market treatments for patients with cancer?

I'm the someone blind about networks. Show me the light @vortex

It would be hard to suggest networks when you don't have a definite niche.

There are different types of affiliate networks/programs. There are networks that have offers from all types of different niches. There are networks that specialize in a certain niche. And then there are "in-house" affiliate programs that are created for a single product/service for a specific company.

And it's not possible to sign up to ALL the affiliate networks first, just to see what types of offers are available - there are simply too many - probably in the thousands.

You absolutely NEED to define an audience first, before looking for offers - i.e. do steps 1)-3) in my post above.

Your approach will be DIFFERENT from what most of us on STM are talking about. Most of us are BUYING traffic - therefore we can choose an offer FIRST, and THEN decide what traffic to buy and what targeting to set, that will suit the offer.

That is not the case with you, because you're gathering an audience first. You need to do extensive research before deciding on a niche - because once you've spent time gathering/building that audience, you'll be limited to the kinds of products/services you can promote to it.

I hope that makes sense!

If you want to get a feel of what kinds of offers we usually promote on affiliate networks - you can check here:

http://offervault.com/

Most of the CPA offers on affiliate networks will only exist temporarily (days/weeks/months). If you want to start a website for affiliate offers, it would be best to do so for products/services that will be around for a long time.

Again - it's really hard for me to make an recommendations without knowing your niche. If you'd choose one, we can dig deeper next time. For now, I'll just give you some examples based on your examples.

Mattresses:

-I googled "best mattresses" and found this:

https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/hom...st-mattresses/

Best Overall Mattress: Saatva Classic Mattress
Best Value Mattress: Allswell Luxe Hybrid Mattress
Best Cooling Mattress: Tempur-Pedic Tempur Luxe Breeze Mattress
Best Organic Mattress: Avocado Green Mattress
Best Mattress-in-a-Box: Casper Mattress
Best In-Store Mattress-in-a-Box: tulo Mattress
Best Firm Mattress: Stearns & Foster Cassatt Luxury Firm Mattress
Best Adjustable Mattress: Sleep Number 360 p6 Smart Bed
Best Reversible Mattress: Layla Mattress
Best Mattress on Amazon: Tuft & Needle Original Mattress
Most Innovative Mattress Material: Purple Mattress
Most Popular Mattress: Serta iComfort CF 4000
Then you can google "Saatva affiliate program", "Allswell affiliate program" etc.

-Of course you can and should do more research than just look at the one site above, when deciding which mattresses to promote/review. The above was just an example.

-Mattresses is quite a tough niche to rank in the search engines if you're planning on doing SEO for traffic. Please do ample keyword research and competition analysis before deciding on this niche.

VPN:

-You can find some VPN offers here:

http://offervault.com/?selectedTab=t...rch=VPN&page=1

However, some of those may be temporary.

-It would be better to do some research to find out what the best VPNs are, then see which ones have affiliate programs. For example:

https://www.techradar.com/vpn/best-vpn

Then go out and find their affiliate programs (google is your friend):

https://www.expressvpn.com/affiliates

https://nordvpn.com/affiliate/

https://surfshark.com/affiliate

http://offervault.com/?selectedTab=t...d%20vpn&page=1

http://offervault.com/?selectedTab=t...rfshark&page=1

As you can see, in this case, the VPNs recommended by techradar all have their own in-house affiliate programs, but a couple of these also have offers on affiliate networks.

So VPNs are a fortunate exception to what I said about "most of the CPA offers on affiliate networks will only exist temporarily".

Cancer:

-There are a ton of affiliate networks that specialize in nutra CPA offers. Many/most of those are scams that promise they can improve health, but then in a few months would disappear from the market (and the owner would often repackage under a different name to perpetuate the scam).

-Please be careful - do your research to find something that is actually proven to help. Otherwise, not only would you incur negative karma, you can get into legal hot water for making claims that are unfounded/untrue. Tread carefully when it comes to anything medical.

Also - here's a good list of general networks that have a lot of affiliate offers:

https://bloggingwizard.com/affiliate...-and-networks/

Lastly: One good tip for looking for affiliate programs is to find affiliate review sites where people before you have already created similar sites to promote similar affiliate programs you're planning on promoting. That way you know which products have affiliate programs - the research has been done for you.

Google "[product type] reviews" or "best [product type]" or "top [product type]" and you'll find plenty. You can also do the same with a popular product that you know has an affiliate program, and look for reviews for that - chances are on the same site you'll find reviews for other products of the same type as well.

Hope that helps!

lol, congrats?

This is the equivalent of when someone posts a question on a public forum. People give a few responses and then the OP posts "Nm, figured it out! Thx"

And it remains a mystery as to what actually solved the problem.

I bet there's an xkcd ... yup, close enough:

I'm so stoked to hear that @juracan! So happy for you!

Yes please provide more details! There are always more newbies coming into AM, and motivating stories from veterans can really keep them motivated and allow them to stay on course.

Also - if I'm not asking too much - could you please kindly make a similar post to your post above, to the "Success Stories" post?

https://stmforum.com/forum/forumdisp...uccess-Stories

Many members are thriving but not enough are coming back to report their success. Thanks so much for your update! It means a lot.

Do you have any specific questions? I mean, the tutorial is really a step-by-step guide, so you shouldn't face any major issues when following it. I understand you might run into some trouble or feel like you need some guidance, but you need to ask in a more specific way since we don't know what stage you're at, what obstacles you are facing or what kind of trouble you need to assistance with.

Depends on what you want to focus on and what your experience level is.

In order to learn the very basics of media buying and running CPA affiliate offers, the 40-day guide is a great one to follow. Even if you might decide to focus on something else later on, POP traffic is likely the cheapest option to start with and that's why we always recommend newbies to start with it. You need to learn how to setup a campaign, understand the logic behind tracking and optimization, get a feel of what it's like to run real traffic with your own money. And these are all lessons you can learn with POP traffic at the lowest possible cost.

To be honest, if your goal is to run facebook or tiktok traffic, the 40-day tutorial is not going to teach you how to do it... these traffic sources are way more picky when it comes to offer selection, the attribution and tracking needs a bit different setup and its generally a completely difference experience.

I would likely still go with he guide just to touch media buying, so to speak. And who knows, maybe you will find your first success with it

I have seen some clickbank offers promoted on POP and also PUSH traffic, so it can probably work to some extent... did you build the LP yourself or is it something that you got from someone? Because there are quite a few issues with that one that I can spot just by having a quick look.

Some text is there twice: "That what made Linda Brrett, a 44 year old mom of two, suddenly melt 59 lbs of fat"... in the beginning she is 44, then 54 down the page, the sentences are missing dots at the end, name spelled with lower case... there are many grammar errors on the page. I wouldnt personally run any traffic to this LP, there are problems you need to fix.

But back to your question, I would take the guide, you can learn a lot from it.

Thank you for your reply really
I will follow the steps you suggested.
Thank u for checking my landing page and I will not go for it .and will start from 40 day vortex. thanks again
