Facebook - Great Stats, No Conversions
Hey fellow marketers,
As I mentioned in my first post, I'm a Facebook media buyer for years now with the urge to move to affiliate marketing. I've been through the Pops Tutorial (Great btw!) and wanted to start with that, but because a lot of people, including @matuloo recommended staying with Facebook, so I will do exactly that to start out with.
I started my first FB campaign without any tracking at all, using the "traffic" objective. Heard about this method from @itzpeter and I think @stickupkid as well (no tracking to avoid bans).
Feels extremely weird going blind though. Just not used to it 😉
Thing is, IMHO I had great stats, but no conversions so far.
I think the offer might just not be for that audience, but maybe I am doing something wrong anywhere else as well.
Campaign:
Offer: Supermarket Voucher (Win 500€)
Geo: Germany
Lander 1: 4 Questions, then link to offer page (https://jmp.sh/YHu3r9t)
Lander 2: One click, only choosing which discounter they prefer (https://jmp.sh/LpHTQ5T)
Offer Stats from Affiliate Network (Clickdealer):
https://jmp.sh/OTBKeqj
Facebook Stats:
https://jmp.sh/pYhSZY0
I am also thinking about to at least track through Google Analytics.
Hope that doesn't trigger bans on Facebook's side.
So has anyone any idea what I did wrong, what to improve or if the offer just doesn't work for FB.
Thanks so much guys! 😃

Whats your current targeting? your CPC is nice, so either you target too broad and/or your offer may not be so good (test different advertisers with same brand offer so you can switch aff link in the prelander easily). I found Germany in general very hard to convert, although others do seem to make it work.

Thanks for helping me
Best audience ist women 30+, interest: discounter. So yes it’s kinda broad.
The wording on my ads is also very passive, so maybe I should make my lander a little bit more aggressive.
Do you think a survey is also necessary to warm up the audience?
Now I’m using only a lander with some info and a button that leads to the offer.
One last question would be if you use the “traffic” objective with the goal of “link clicks” or “landing page” views?
Link clicks are way cheaper, but maybe lp views convert better. I’ll test that.
So basically I should test different offers, right?
Thank you
PS
I choose Germany, because I’m German. But good to know that Germany is harder to convert.

Target women 35+, brand only if possible and gives a 100k potential audience at least. Test as much images/videos you can find and milk that audience. After you found the best images launch those broader too eventually.
The surveys work still pretty good yes, a prelander in general is kinda needed yes.
When using traffic I use deault option, I think its view right?

I’ll try that targeting , thanks.
I’ve tested only 3 creatives, but with that CTR I thought I found a winner already , you know.
You think different creatives could also help improving my conversion rate?
Yes, link clicks is default.
I’m also thinking about direct linking to the offer page to test that, but I’m afraid of a ban from Facebook.
Also do you have experience with prosper202 (
https://prosper.tracking202.com/apps/). I’d love to retarget some folks

I’d need some help once more...
My personal account got bannend for good.
Some weeks ago I’ve created a second profile with even my same name(real name) and also logged in from the same PC. Now I now of course this was dumb.
I used the business manager and ad accounts on another PC, as soon as I started advertising.
So the loss is no big deal, because I was just starting out anyway.
* * *
Thing is though, should I already buy accounts, because I can not use my real personal account?
* * *
I still do client work so I can’t afford to loose that one.
Thank you

That or farm your own. From what I understand bought ones aren't lasting as long as they did previously, at least they weren't for me.
Profiles can still be farmed, but you need to stop and think. (I'm not going to reveal too much because this isn't a BH forum and I paid for this knowledge). How does a real person behave? What does a real person do on joining Facebook?
Also another thing to consider is, how will I handle it if and when the profile gets restricted? Am I farming in such a way I can verify this profile should the need arise?
