So here is my journey into AM. I joined the forum last week, and took my time to scan a bit through the content, finally decided this 1$ project is the best point to start. I don't expect too much from this, my goal is to achieve consistent green days. Of course I have dreams, like everybody in the AM world. Mine would be to replace my day job in the future, meaning around 2,5-3K $ a month. But I am realistic and didn't set a timeline. I think the best approach is to learn and improve skills over time.

So enough blabla, here are the first stats:



So now I'll get rid of Brazil, Morocco and Italy.

I'll try to keep this post updated constantly, but please keep in mind I have a fulltime day job. So sometimes there might be days without postings/replies.

So first round of optimization has gone through.

Running the report a second time, I am a bit confused:



I thought I would get the overall stats form both runs, but they seem seperatet. (e.g., Turkey appears two times). Did I miss something in the report options?

Ok I found the misstake by myself, I left Date/Time enabled.

So here are the stats after the first optimization:



So Turkey, Peru, UAE, Colombia and Saudi Arabia are the next Geos to get kicked out. However, I think UAE will get another chance since its only -8%.

So my 3rd cycle is finished, here are the results:



Looks like Greece and Singapore are winners. Once again, UAE is a near breakeven, maybe a green one with some optimization.

But for now, I am going to stick with the both and will try website targeting.

Very nice start @buzz brunner!

Now would be a good time to take your best geos and set up a separate campaign for each of them, then show report by placements (website IDs) to see if you could cut some of them to make the campaign green.

A rule of thumb for such really low-payout offers: Cut a website that is in loss by 3x or 4x the payout.

So here is my latest update:

I ran campaigns for gr and sg, since those were the geos having a positive roi in the three multi geo cycles.

Here is the result from sg:



As you can see, I made a loss. However, somehow the conversion payout went down significant. On 02-04, 1,05$/35=0,03$ per conversion. On 02-06 it's only 0,19$/21=0,009$. So if the value would've stayed the same, I would be still in the red but close to a breakeven.

Also not too good...

Finally, I will try to optimize on the zones. Though both are in the red, I am quite happy I already learned a lot. At the moment I feel ready to move on to the 40 day pop guide, so stay tuned my journey into AM continues (probably in another thread when I start the 40 day guide follow along).

Yes this can happen when you take a geo out of a multi-geo campaign. My guess is that when a campaign targets more broadly (in this case multiple geos) the traffic source assigns more importance to it by giving it better quality traffic and greater traffic volume. But this isn't always the case either. Thus the need to test.

You can optimize placements/zones for each geo. You can also try different bids.

Or, you can optimize placements/zones for the multi-geo campaign. And of course you can also test different bids for that campaign.

As for the 40-day guide - I'm still trying to finish the 2021 version. In the meantime please follow the 2019 version, except the lesson on hosting and CDN - for that lesson please follow the one in the 2021 version.
