Hiring Instagram influencers, how to? (12)

Hiring Instagram influencers, how to?

Hello everyone

I want to do a test with a bunch of instagram influencers in a specific niche. The goal is to get some followers to my own Insta account in the same niche.

Has anyone any experience with this? Should I try to contact them privately or can anyone recommend a good agency or platform to use for this?

I'm looking for micro or medium sized ones at this stage, no big guns with 100s of 1000s of followers.

Any tips?

I believe Dan Da Silva had some good stuff on this a couple years ago... I remember watching a like 10 part series on it but can't remember if it was some free course or actual regular YouTube videos... I believe he was just having a VA make spreadsheets of accounts based on followers and average engagement of posts and then reaching out to them himself via DM and paying them via Skype (I think)... I'm sure there's probably lots of influencer marketplaces now though and stuff like that too...

Thanks for the tip, will try to look at some videos from Dan.

I'm sure there are many marketplaces for this, heck, there was even a presentation on AdWorld from one of them and the platform looked really good, but no matter how hard I try I can't remember the name/url

Anyone has positive experience with some of these marketplaces? So I don't just start to test them blindly

I found a pretty good list with features of a solid number of influencer marketing platforms... if anyone is interested

I've used this website before: https://shoutcart.com/

I'll be honest, I did not think it was good. Thought I'd share anyways because it's also good to know what doesn't work. There is also a tool i forget the name of that gives an estimate of the influencers fake to real followers ratio. I'd recommend using a tool like this if you're skeptical of them because I was surprised how legit some of these influencers look that have a ton of fake following. Just something to keep in mind.

If I may ask, what didn't you like about that platform?

Oh yes, so many profiles have large following "on paper" but very little interaction with their posts. Will try to look for some tool, great tip.

I also see quite a few instagramers selling "insta shoutouts" on fiverr, many of them with obviously fake following, but some look good and the prices are not bad.

Yeah for sure.. well the platform may have changed since i used it last but one of the huge downfalls was that i couldn't communicate with the influencers. The only way was to go through the whole shoutout request and even send the payment and a lot of the time they never even responded. basically you have to describe the whole shoutout request and send money first, then hope for a reply, instead of just having a little message option or something.

That was one thing I didn't like, but the biggest downfall of course was just lack of results. I only spent around $300 or so, and actually i still have like $50 left on it because the shoutouts were completely useless, I'm talking like 0 clicks (yeah just clicks, not even conversions) for a $100 shoutout. Again, just my experience though.

No communication options and uprofnt payment with no guarantees is kinda a big problem for sure, thanks for sharing your experience.

I would create a list of 10-20 influencers and look more closely at how similar this audience is to your target audience, because the audience doesn't always have the same attributes as the influencer. Don't get distracted by a large following. To find the right influencers, use insta algorithm recommendations, hashtags and places. Also look at who the influencer follows, there are often accounts in the same niche.

Yup, building a list of those who relate to my subject right now

There are also guys who run aggregator-type of Insta accounts and some of them already reached out to me, offering a story or re-post feature. Some of them look legit, with nice amounts of followers and good engagement. Will try to buy a plug from some of them.

I'm learning a lot along the way, once I have some decent numbers I will probably write some article and post it here on the forum, might be good info for everyone

I've been looking into using https://influencers.club which can deliver email addresses of Instagram accounts that list them somewhere in their profile. This could work for you if you have a way to send bulk cold emails. They can filter down using hashtags and even followers.
