[Q] Tracking YouTube ads in Voluum

Hey guys, this is my first thread here on the forum.

I've had trouble finding online resources as to how to use Voluum for Tracking YouTube ads and getting Conversion postback set up. The videos will receive organic as well as paid traffic so im just a bit confused as to if I have to run a seperate video just for paid traffic and also how to use the integration as most Voluum documentation refers to traditional Google ads and not a link in a YouTube video description which is the route im going.

You can use the same link for your organic traffic and your campaigns.

You must use direct tracking:
https://doc.Voluum.com/en/tracking_organic_traffic.html

The tracking will be in different campaigns: one for organic, and other campaigns for paid traffic.

The paid campaigns will receive a cpid parameter in the URL from the traffic source, so Voluum will be able to assign the visit/click to the corresponding campaign.

For organic traffic, you need to hardcode in the page a small JS code with the cpid parameter to pass to the Voluum direct tracking pixel in case no cpid is detected in the URL. With that, Voluum will know it must assign it to the "organic traffic" campaign.

It requires to slightly modify the Voluum pixel, so i am not going to suggest any code there that might be outdated in a few months.

But let me tag @voluum so that they take care of you :-)

Cheers Jeremie! I asked them for help but they wanted me to upgrade from my $249 plan to a $599 plan to be eligible for help. Im trying to wrap my head around the detailed explanation you've given me. Im not too familiar with coding though!

More generally on Youtube tracking with Voluum, you can refer to their Google Ads tracking (if it's paid traffic)

https://doc.Voluum.com/en/google_ads...ic_source.html

And the integration for postback
https://doc.voluum.com/en/google_ads...tegration.html

@jeremie's description is so detailed there's nothing else for me to add here. As for the Voluum pixel that needs slight modification - if you follow instructions from this guide (https://doc.Voluum.com/en/tracking_organic_traffic.html) - Modify the script to track organic traffic section - you shouldn't have any issues with the code even if you're not advanced in coding. It's pretty straightforward

You can ask for our support team's help on ANY plan. You can contact them via email (support@voluum.com) or the "Contact us" form in the Voluum panel and they will reply to all your questions no matter what plan you're on.
