"Safe" Facebook Verticals?

So, I plan to delve more into the evil realms of Facebook this year as I have only run a few campaigns on there, most of which required cloaking to get approved and were only profitable for a few days at a time.

My goal is to run compliant, non-cloaked campaigns and make them profitable, avoiding the common "naughty" verticals such as:

- Diet
- Bizop
- Skin Care
- Most dating sites
- Male Muscle
- Adult (obviously)
- Email Submits
- Pin Submits

..

So are there any verticals or even offers you could recommend trying out? I'd definitely step into international waters as that's where I've dabbled before.

Any advice would be appreciated

+ 1

as am new to facebook and i usually don't prefer cloaking or going against the system with any source i would like to know what would be safe niches.

So far i had no problem with daily deals offers, 0 denial on creatives and slim margins.

International gaming. International dating (any offers that aren't red).

For gaming try some browser games and single-opt in offers to begin with. Do some interest-targeting research and find a decent sized demo and an offer to match (important to have an offer that 'connects' with the demographic and your ads, both for conversion rate and lead quality for the advertiser). Always split male/female and age groups, have 13-17 on their own and split ages above that dependent on demo size.

Never seen a game that required cloaking, closest I saw was a game rated yellow on MyWoT. Arcade/downloads aside of course.

^^^this....the quality on the games being the only issue...alot of games want 18+ which isn't easy....

but both of those + daily deals all are ok....

Yeah, I suggest always splitting 13-17 out because you can A) see whether they are converting more than other age ranges, which is not so good and is a warning indicator to ask your AM to check lead quality before you get kicked and B) means you can selectively eliminate or throttle their traffic. Splitting age ranges also, in the long run, teaches you a lot about what these groups of people are like in specific countries, and that helps you plan future campaigns.

So are these the only 2 verticals? What about something random, like a short-form leadgen offer for Auto-Insurance, or Laser hair removal?

There's lots more of course, just named the main two I could think of. Basically if it isn't prohibited in the Facebook advertising guidelines (e.g. no penny auctions, get-rich-quick schemes etc), isn't red on MyWoT, doesn't do stuff on the landing page Facebook doesn't like (e.g. exit pops), then it's fine.

Cool, I was thinking the same, so there's hope for me this year with the slut that is FB.

i sell supplements through facebook ads.

i sell it within facebook by using facebook pages and offer tips, articles, writeups.

users post comments and like the page so that helps to be within Facebook's circle of trust, allowing the ad to stay up.
