Follow along as I learn push (and try to profit!)
Hello everyone,
First post on STM. New member here.
I'm following @twinaxe's push guide and jumping into the deep end.
This isn't my first time running paid traffic, as I've ran my own ecom offers on FB previously.
I'm now a noob again wanting to crack the affiliate game and get into the business.
Follow alongs offer so much value from this forum (especially when you have a pro like twinaxe looking over your shoulder).
Where I'm At:
Running sweeps from Mobidea & Clickdealer on Propeller ads push in a T2 geo.
Funded my account and waiting on campaign approvals.
Have already picked out offers/landers, just waiting for traffic to send so I can get some initial data.
Sweeps aren't dominating in this geo from I've seen from my spy tool, but I'll run them and see what happens. If none of the offers show any promise, I'll move into a different vertical.
I'm testing using the protocol from @twinaxe's guide and focusing on getting my campaign up and gathering data.
I can't believe how valuable his push guide is, and I also see him replying to every push follow along. He's insane.
Thank you twinaxe, and here's to new ventures!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your first conversion! You're likely right, it won't stay green for long, but it always feels great to see at least some success straight away

Twinaxe is definitely one of the very best mods we "acquired" in a while, so glad to have him on the team

Hey Pierce, thanks alot for your kind words.
Right now I am working on the next part for the push tutorial and hope to get it finished ASAP
It´s great that you received such an early conversion, this can help alot to boost the motivation.
Btw, check the link in my signature how to insert images properly in posts, then it´s much easier to read
Well, part from that there´s not much to tell here yet.
Please update your follow along whenever you have something to show or whenever you have questions.
Now let´s try to get you running on profit soon

Oh man, I really feel flattered and probably go a bit red in my face.
Thank you very much

Yep, not green for long! I'm surprised at how active the mods are on here compared to other forums

Got the images down now! Thanks.
You're a rockstar! I can't imagine you possibly making a better guide. You're definitely a pro at this! Maybe one day I'll have profitable campaigns like you...
Here's where I'm at so far with push:

Very red overall. I started on Propeller with my first conversion post, but that's been paused since they need to verify payment information for newcomers to their platform.
Now I'm working on RichAds with their push. I'll be honest, I was gunning for this geo, but I think it can be a tough nut to crack, without a ton of volume available either it seems. Tried a few sweeps offers, but it seems that unless they're some good carrier billing offers, I probably won't get them profitable on push for this geo.

This is from the top offer one of my affiliate managers recommended me, but I think push just may be too expensive for this one. Maybe on pop it would work better?
It seems that sweeps just aren't hot in this geo at the moment. I tested a good bit of the sweeps offers available, and none really converted that well.
From what I spied, it looks like a lot of this geo is crypto... yikes. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about crypto offers, and definitely not going to run the $250 payouts and test them with my noob skills.
BUT, what I am starting to understand at least a little is optimization. I saw early on that one of the landers sucked, killed it and swapped in a new one, and it got better EPCs.
I noticed my conversion rate was TERRIBLE. 1% on my best page!?. I would expect that with direct linking, but not after they've warmed up through my best lander so far....
I did some digging into the sources, and the largest traffic sources have the worst conversion rates (of any significant amount of traffic)

So yeah... it would massively kill my traffic even if I cut those sources sending the most traffic. Going to test a little more to get an ideal landing page combo, then blacklist bad sources and gather a little more data.
Next step: Determine winning lander/offer combo, blacklist bad sources, spend more tomorrow and gather more data.
Going to look for other geos to run push in (or maybe pops?) and test some other offers.

Not necessarily, I have offers with lower payout running good on push
If a campaigns is a success or failure not only depends on the offer payout, you rather need a good combination of payout, trafficprice, traffic volume and conversion rate.
On higher payouts you can afford higher bids and also lower CR.
When you run very low payouts you need low trafficprices and also high CR to run on prfoit and then you also need high volume to really make it worth it.
It seems that sweeps just aren't hot in this geo at the moment. I tested a good bit of the sweeps offers available, and none really converted that well.
The best sweep SOI offers are mostly available in high tier geos.
In these geos the data of the people is worth more than data from people in low tier geos.
I saw early on that one of the landers sucked, killed it and swapped in a new one, and it got better EPCs.
How exactly did you see early that one of the landers sucked?
How many landers did you test and did you swapped the new lander in during a running test?
So yeah... it would massively kill my traffic even if I cut those sources sending the most traffic.
Good observed, sometimes campaigns are not worth it even when they get some conversions because to get them into green you would have to optimize them to death.

Man, this affiliate marketing stuff really frustrates me.
I may give up on push and go back to ecom where I belong
Just the fact that someone else controls the offer, and if it converts like shit the best I can do is go to someone else and send them traffic hoping their offer converts...
I like controlling my own offer that I can tweak and make profitable, and keep all the profits.
Going to start back up in my own branded ecom and close down my push journey.
I may or may not start an ecom follow along thread here on STM. But if I do, know it'll be big!
Here's what I was going earlier this year per month in ecom (about 50% is profit) before I sold the business and got into testing a little push:

Hope you don't blame me too much. Thank you @twinaxe for all your great advice! I know you put tons of effort into helping newbies like me.

Giving up after only few days?
Come on, what did you expect?
That you test 3 offers and succeed?
Unluckily that´s not how it works

Sure, can´t disagree with it but try to see it from a different perspective as well.
When you have your own offers you can have huge upfront investments and then you still have no guarantee that the offer succeeds.
Running CPA offers you have access to thousands of offers where others already did the work to get that offer running and you can test many offers in short time.
In the end both options have advantages and disadvantages

No worries, it´s all good and fine.
Different people have different preferences, when something else is working better for you or when you enjoy something else more then better do it.
It won´t help ypu when you stick with something you don´t like.
Nonetheless I think that these few days are too short to make a real decision.

Just curious - why did you sell your business before trying push?
The thing with starting AM is that it require daily efforts that are paid off not in days but rather a months, there are some exceptions to this even here on STM but generally that's the way it is.
Going Va banque on affiliate marketing puts enormous pressure to see the results and campaigns at the beginning in most cases tend to be
BLOODY RED.
Unless you really shit money that kind of pressure would be without a doubt discouraging - that's why I asked about your business
Wish you good luck with the ecom.

Thanks for the perspective. I agree with you, going to take a day or two to think on this.

The business dealt with AOVs of around $15ish, and to really make a backend for the business would require LOTS of small merchandise and 100+ SKUs.
I think your observation on my bankroll is correct.
I have plenty in the bank, and I should just be making small bets on campaigns for fun while I learn.
Going to take some time to really study.
Thanks for the encouraging words and good perspective from both of you.
I’ll study Amy’s tutorial and start running pops on Monday since people always recommends those for newbies. Rapid testing + lots of offers until I find some gems I can optimize for. I’ll have fun with it and figure it out along the way.
May not post on the forum for a bit, I’ll be too busy taking action. Thanks again!

Great man
I mean, when you feel that it just isn´t the right thing for you or when you don´t have fun running a specific traffic type then of course it doesn´t make sense to do it.
And when you already got frustrated just because a few offers didn´t convert good enough then maybe running affiliate offers/CPA offers really isn´t the right thing for you.
Nonetheless I would really enjoy it when you at least give it a real chance before you make an overhasty decision
But also be sure that you will probably face more frustrating moments, that´s just part of the game.
The feeling however when you succeed makes good for it 1000 times
