Has anyone used cloudways.com? Please can you share your experiences?
I want to give it a shot and want to see how it has worked for others.

Nickpeplow recommended it in this thread and he usually only does that when there is a good reason: https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...l=1#post375394
So I guess its a valid option

Quick update - Just checked. I think it will have way more benefits than what they have cited. But yes, it seems they are worth giving a shot.

I use Cloudways and for the most part I like it. Their prices are good and the interface works well. Adding new servers and applications is simple and their support are quite responsive. For plain HTML/JavaScript/PHP sites I'd recommend it for sure. The downside is that if you're trying to do anything complex, they limit you quite a bit. You don't get full root access to your servers, and you can't install things like MongoDB. Good for most uses though.

Quick update - so far my understanding is that it's an easier set up choice and one can choose from a variety of options like Amazon, Digital Ocean, Vultr etc.
I will take the plunge in the upcoming week.
And @
bc_red has shared their experience on here...
@
erikgyepes has also mentioned cloudways on this thread:
https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...inner-tutorial
I have updated that thread with a new connected question.

Pay attention to the bandwidth (outgoing traffic). Don't go with AWS or Google Cloud, because they offer 2 Gb per month, which is ridiculous. The others offer 3-4 Tb.
This managed service makes sense for hosting providers who offer naked servers, to get the server management + cloud. In the case of AWS, you better go with Amy tutorials for S3/CloudFront, you don't need server management as it is already managed.

I am already with digital ocean. Used a youtube video to configure when I started. Now wanted to try this out. What you think about wpx.net? The highest plan has unlimited bandwidth.
I have updated my earlier thread on hosting with this question:

nice to everyone suggestion up there. am wondering if affiliate sites can be best supported from the hosting support from above like Cloudways etc? Have also come across Starthost Co, http://starthost.co/ too, so if anyone have input around them would be great.

I've around 80 WordPress sites on Cloudways and will start using it soon for AM. So far, quite happy with their service and the ease of use.
After you spend around 150-200 a month with them you get a dedicated account manager who can help you with more advanced requests.
If you need ongoing server tweaking, they now offer "advanced" and "premium" support for $100 & $500 monthly. I'm considering the extra $100 for next month, as some WooCommerce sites are getting a bit annoying and our noob tweaks aren't enough. More info here.
I've only had problems with them once in 5 years. I was using their suggested SMTP partner (elasticemail), who left me 3 days without email one time. I switched to SendGrid and now everything is fine
