Meeting with an official FB marketing expert? yay?

Hi, First time, I had a meeting with an official FB marketing expert on the phone. Question: how accurate is the info they give? There were discrepancies between what the expert said and what most of the FB gurus say in their Youtube channels or paid courses. The expert said FB determines the compliance of ads just based on the ads on FB but not the content on landing pages, they don't ban FB fan pages because it's separate assets that have nothing to do with adsFB gurus recommend avoid using the words 'you' or asking questions but the expert said it's all about context. I often noticed that Google ads support agents give wrong info, different agents say different things on the same topic. So I was wondering how it is with official FB experts? Thanks

How do you know that he is an expert? And that he belongs to FB? Look like a marketing agency with scammy practice to me.

Here is the FB Ad Policy:
https://m.facebook.com/policies/ads

2nd chapter:

The Ad Review Process

Before ads show up on Facebook or Instagram, they’re reviewed to make sure they meet our Advertising Policies. Typically most ads are reviewed within 24 hours, although in some cases it may take longer.

What We Consider

During the ad review process, we'll check your ad's images, text, targeting, and positioning, in addition to the content on your ad's landing page. Your ad may not be approved if the landing page content isn't fully functional, doesn't match the product/service promoted in your ad or doesn't fully comply with our Advertising Policies.

Fyi I scheduled the call through FB help page and her job title was 'FB marketing expert'. I guess their experts are not that competent and confusing like FB is itself.. She said she created a ticket for me to reinstate my account within 1 day but no response for 3-4 days...

Logically an FB rep would probably be more accurate than all those shitty guru's on YT lol.

There are loads of ways and methods to make money via FB, try to find out which one suits you best.

Meeting with an official FB marketing expert? yay?

I've spoken to a few FB marketing experts. And based on personal experience as well as feedback from other marketers that have spoken to them, it seems that many of them are not actually very helpful in their advice. It's hit and miss - their experience vary and on a good day you get assigned a more experienced one.

They're hired and trained by FB to provide a service, and I have the feeling that one of their goals is to convince advertisers to spend more money with them. Some of the advice I've received made me wonder if they've actually run campaigns themselves...

I don't think it's a total waste of time though. They do sometimes give helpful advice. You just have to take everything with a grain of salt and verify through your own testing.

I have the same feelings. Google has some too. I had some display campaigns with crazy high CTR. They called me and were suggesting to run them on a broader range of placements.

They told me: we have suggestions to improve your campaigns that we can apply for you. Are you ok with this?

I said no, but i think if you say yes, they take over your account and do what they want.

Most of those FB experts you get assigned as a routine process that FB has for high spenders, may have never run paid traffic before. If they’re lucky they can learn something from someone who knows and understands paid traffic better than them.

Their main and primary goal is to push you to spend more. So during calls, they will insist on going for broader targeting, then retargeting and all those basic techniques that almost everyone uses these days.

The maximum they can do (if they want to) is to help you escalate a wrongly disapproved ad.

My experience as well, same with google inhouse-experts. I'd even say that their ONLY goal is to make advertisers spend more

But yes, while talking to some of these guys, I learned something new too. The more skilled ones have a great understanding of their systems and CAN share some helpful tips.

So yes, it's really a hit or miss kinda situation

Thanks for sharing your insights. Would you recommend taking up on their offer to set up a campaign with the expert? I scheduled another meeting with her because she said she can set up a campaign with me to ensure it doesn't get rejected. Since I noticed that she obviously gave me wrong info about FB ads policy, I'm thinking it may be just a waste of time... Can ads that a FB expert helped setting up get also get rejected, right?

You can. Just make sure they set up a daily budget you are comfortable with.
