Facebook App Installs

Is anyone here pushing any of the Facebook Apps?

Today Facebook changed the way apps work before the user "allows" them:

For those that have been running any sort of apps, are you seeing a decrease in the CVR today?

not running any currently but def seems like a bit of give and take...curious to see if it will have any effect....as you get more description on the first page but you make people click twice to accept it....

I'm seeing a 50% drop in conversion rates today, I just confirmed what I'm seeing with a network owner and they are seeing similar drops.

The thing is, when I check the path of the apps, I don't see the 2nd screen were they have to click "Accept" again. I'm just seeing the first screen, where they click Install, and bam, they go right to the app.

That explains why campaigns I launched a couple of days ago that looked promising are now dead in the water just 1 day later. I'd actually put in a landing page that showed people where to click for the app to work (as groomez showed in another thread) and that lifted conversions - wondered why that worked briefly then stopped. Thanks for the timely info.

i did some testing with the new style dialog just after f8 and I actually saw improved 'optins' with the new style dialog over the old style.

this might have been cause all I was capturing was people's emails, and in the new style dialog this is less obvious.

also the new style dialog allows for much better copy & images in the actual authorisation popup.

I guess many offers have not reconfigured their Apps to make use of this improved feature.

Also

I dont think facebook is forcing the new dialog on old apps - ie this BeNaughty one is just the old Auth dialog:

Thanks for the response. I spoke with my advertiser, and they were able to change back to their older Auth dialog, and conversions are back up to par. That BeNaughty page you linked to, it wasn't showing that dialog earlier, since that's the company that I was seeing shitty CVR with because of their dialog . Thankfully though after speaking with them, they hurried to get this fixed.

i think on feb 15th they may force the issue though

On February 1, 2012, all apps will be enabled for the improved dialog, but those that haven’t fully configured their dialog can disable the setting in the Developer App until February 15, at which time it will be turned on for all apps.

still not 100% clear but turned on may mean you have no choice

Yep, I've read that and they are aware of it as well. From what I understand they are working on solving the CVR drop with the new dialog.
