I will wait for a reply for a free and safe version. I don't think anything comes for free, especially this kind of service.

Have a look at https://www.plivo.com/

Not free, but cheap.

Ive used sms-activate before and i can vouch that it does in fact work. I cant comment to the extent of how safe it is but id just use common sense with what information you input.

Ive looked just about everywhere for free services and tbh there aren’t many, if at all. Sms verification services aren’t expensive, they’ll usually only ever run you a few bucks tops which is "cheap"

It really just comes down to what you’re looking to use it for. If you are afraid that someone is going to be able to hack/steal info from whatever service you’re trying to verify by using a “unsafe” website then what makes you think a free sms verification service online IS “safe”. Google the “privacy-paradox” I think you’ll find it very informational

Anyways, ill tell you some “free”ish and "cheap" paid ways to do it

-[Free-ish] There are “free” apps you can find on app stores like nextplus/textplus but they rarely work. A lot of free sms services usually provide a number from a virtual SIM which are easily detected & blocked.

-[Free-ish] If you have a US Gsuite account you can get free numbers with google voice.

Alternatively you can use something like twilio to create numbers and then forward the calls and texts to your own number. But again, this will run you at least a few dollars and twilio has a $20-25 minimum deposit.

If you have any privacy concerns with respect to your cc info , use a service like privacy.com, prepaid card or crypto.

Again it just comes down to what you want to use the numbers for but I can almost guarantee you will not find anything that is “free”.

Cheers
