Tips on increasing CTR of banners?
Banner CTR is not really something I've focused on but now I'm trying to find ways to get a more competitive edge.
What has been your favorite tips for increasing banner ctrs?
For me over the years I haven't really noticed much of a difference between rotating images vs animated. I think if you find a right static pic, it can create just as high a CTR as a moving image.
Conversely sometimes an animated image has a terrible CTR, so the jury is really out on that one.
I've also have started playing with more colors, so this is something I'm going to be exploring (ie blend in or stand out to website design)
What about things like symbols/emojis etc?
Simple vs Complicated banner text?
Curious to see what everyone has tried to get some creative juices flowin

Hi!
We can give you some recommendations on how to increase the CTR of native banners:
• Prepare 10 variants of the banner and perform a/b testing.
• Use concise and clear headlines.
• Try to choose bright and HQ images.
• Do not use long texts.
• Add call-to-action buttons.

Based on my experience, the most important thing is the female you chose as the main image... some types simply perform better and pull more clicks, I still can't explain what it is to make them outperform the rest, but it works like that. And it's not like they have to be super hot either, quite the contrary sometimes.
The second most important is the copy, for me, short and clear works usually the best. Whenever I tried to experiment with longer and more complicated text, it failed.
I can also confirm that a properly chosen static image can outperform a fancy animation.

I have also noticed that static images perform better than animation ones for me.

Thanks for the responses guys.
I just think this is a weak area of my game where I can't really create high CTR banners.
I know CTR isn't everything, but I think even a slight improvement would help me a lot.
I've ripped some banners that have had some great CTRs, but I can't seem to reproduce the process over and over.
So basically this is something Im working on at the moment.

It's not easy, as it's not very obvious what makes the specific banners stand out. But really, over the years we created probably 1000s of banners and it always seems to come down to what female we chose as the main image. Whenever we find one that's killing it, we do dozens of banners with her and they all perform in a solid way. Try to focus on that.
