My Five-Year Vision Board

For many years, I wanted to be a six-figures-a-year digital entrepreneur. I tried all sorts of business models:

  1. Old-school affiliate mini-sites
  2. SEO consulting
  3. Amazon FBA
  4. Dropshipping (related to my Amazon FBA product)
  5. Affiliate marketing (I use my personal professional site to indirectly promote software products)

I love writing and doing SEO—that's what I've been doing since day one, and I will continue to do so. But when I learned about CPA marketing, I realized this is what's going to get me closer to my dream. I don't depend on Google anymore; I can get thousands of visitors with a few clicks.

Based on everything I read and everything I know, I know I can achieve a lot in the next five years. Since I still have a lot to learn about the industry and what's possible, this vision board is bound to change in the near future. In the meantime, this is what I dream about:

Career
Work independently as an affiliate, leveraging a mix of push, native, and maybe Facebook. Also, I want to have my own sites where I use SEO and email marketing to get a reliable and scalable source of free traffic. I want to work anywhere from 4 to 8 hours a day; some days I may work more, some I may work less.

My Day-to-Day
Wake up around 9-10am, read a book for half an hour while having breakfast. Start working soon afterwards until lunch. Take a break for an hour, read more, maybe go out with a friend/romantic partner, and enjoy the moment. Go back to work until 5-6pm, and then enjoy my hobbies—gym, running, box, dancing, etc. I may work a bit more late at night, but that's mostly for fun and curiosity's sake than due to an obligation to get something off my to-do list.

If Money Wasn't an Issue
I'd get a nice, 100+ sqm apartment or house, depending on the location, with a pool. If I'm single get a car like a Maserati (you know why); if not, something simpler or no car at all; I have never driven a car besides to get a test, so I'm not a big fan of driving. I'd also buy clothes from the brands I like (SuitSupply, Acme, etc.). Finally, I'd get the gadgets I need—a mac, an iPhone, maybe a camera and an iPad, and that's it.

I don't like to consider myself a materialistic person, but let's face it, I'm a little bit materialistic. Still, I don't let my possesions to define my life. I like experiences—traveling, doing activities with friends, networking, etc. Big flashy possesions like yatchs, mansions, and the like aren't my thing.

My ultimate goal has always been to have enough money so it's not an issue. There's an economic downturn? That's fine, I have all I need. I get sick? I have insurance or savings to cover myself for many years, if not for the rest of my life. Being a millionaire or billionaire isn't a goal; only to enjoy life to the fullest without worrying about money.

I think that's a good point. Money isn't always everything. Its about using the money to cater to your needs and not be overly materialistic. Great post!
