I wonder what actually happened.
The price CentralNic ended up paying seems like a bargain and with Robert seemingly having completely disappeared from the face of the Internet, especially after all that ambition he had and drumming about building a billion dollar unicorn. Even removed his threads contents from this forum..

Well, maybe the Cov-id19 had effects on them. Hopefully, everything keeps the same with the tkr.

I'm pretty sure he removed the threads because of the sale, maybe the new buyer requested it, maybe he wanted to separate himself from the company before selling it... hard to say.
I was surprised by the price too, the previous valuations published were way higher... especially when zeropark is part of the transaction too. The competition in the tracking business increased a lot though, maybe they've lost some market share.
It's still a nice chunk of cash though

Previous evaluations look to be around 2016'ish.
A lot has happened since:
* A large part of our industry transitioned over to e-commerce and other business models. That tracking money's going into Shopify and their ecosystem.
* In 2018,
Voluum went from $99 to $299 a month for their cheapest plan. This caused people to leave for alternatives.
* More and more cheaper alternatives: Funnelflux, Thrive,
Adsbridge, RedTrack, BeMob, off the top of my head
And we don't know how COVID-19 impacted the valuation.
Regardless, $35m is solid and something to be proud of!

Seems like a good price for the buyer.
Maybe Robert thought better $36M in the hand than M184$ in the bush.
Anyway, that's more than enough money - congrats for reaching financial independence!
