Tested my offers, and I didn't like what I saw
Hey STMers,
I recently tested a list of offers in MaxBounty I was ready to promote.
As soon as I filled my data, which included my name, email, and age, I got another step that asked for a phone number so they could verify my data, or something like that.
I think that looks sketchy. If my visitors have to do all of that, I can imagine the CR will be lower than if it was just the first set of data they asked for.
Is this common? Or is this offer full of it and should be avoided?
Also, do you test your offers? If so, what do you recommend I do before I pick an offer?
Thank you all!

The more data they ask, the lower the CR (usually). But if it allows them to offer a higher payout because they get better quality leads, that should not be a problem.
At the end of the day, the only question is: is the payout high enough to bring them quality traffic and make profit at the same time?

Yeah, I get it. The only thing that was weird is that they said, "Validate your entry—Winners are contacted by phone". I can expect them to ask more questions, but asking for a phone number seems like it's not just a SOI sweepstake, but something else. Is this common?
Maybe I'm overreacting, it's just that the other sweepstakes I've seen don't ask for a phone number.

Some do some don’t. If phone is needed payout is often higher than e-mail only obviously as stated above already.
If this already baffles you, people putting in their address, email and phone, you will be shocked what people all put on the internet when running other offers. You haven’t seen a fraction yet. Welcome!

Ha, great to hear that. Yes, I need to learn and adjust to these ideas. By the way, this offer I'm referring to pays $1.75 per lead, so it's not that much. Many others work equally to this one and pay even less.

Well, it is relative to the geo, the vertical, the requested flow, if the network scrubs... 1.75 can be low or high. You have to consider all the factors.

It still can be a SOI offer.
SOI only means that the user doesn´t need to confirm his entries.
When the user fills all fileds and clicks the submit button he converts.
For DOI he would need to confirm his entry before he converts.

There are all kinds of flows used in AM... some are very short and simple, some are longer, some require CC information, some only convert upon a payment... there is a bit of confusion when it comes to labeling for sure, some SOI offers aren't really SOI as they require extra steps to be taken.
But in the end, it doesn't matter much, it all comes down to how well the offers perform and how high the payout is.
Sometimes I do check the offers before running any traffic to them, I always check what the landers look like to not mess with the worst ones, but as far as the full flow goes, I don't explore it in full too often. A small traffic test will tell me all I need to know, the numbers don't lie. I know what kinda returns I need to see with the prices I'm paying for clicks, so if it doesn't work, I don't really care what the label of the offer is.

I guess many people think that SOI = short flow like one field submits or so.
But even an offer with 1k fields on 50 pages can be SOI when it converts directly after the user hits the submit button without needing to confirm the email.

I saw that KPIs in the nutra offers a few years ago, so the call-center truly called all leads and asked them to confirm their purchase. If I'm not mistaken the CPL was ~2-3$ for RU, UA. But there was a limitation in regions, as there were some zones where people didn't need the product in general due to their genetic features
