I've been advertising on Facebook for a long time, but recently (in the last 6 months?) have noticed a big change. We usually test brand new campaigns on a new account within our business manager. Before, a good CTR would be around 4% or higher. But recently, no matter what I try, I am getting horrid CTR's.... like .20% ctr. I've also noticed conversions dropped off too. I have a feeling it has to do with facebooks' algorithm that penalizes new accounts or new fan pages because i have other accounts that seem to run just fine. Any idea on why this is happening?
What geo and vertical if I may ask?
US, ecommerce
Probably due to;
- exhausted products/markets
- low content/ad experience (ripped landers?)
- bad quality score?
If you really run a unique product / special niche /or top notch copywriting, forget my points above. There is a bigger issue.
If you run like dropship, gadget stuff, affiliate offers I am pretty sure some day people getting tired of certain stuff. And FB is too if the complaints are rising for example. Low content, bad reviews, spam buttons they all have influence on your overall performance.
Again not sure if thats the case.
