Zeropark Domain Redirect Keyword Bidding (4)

Zeropark Domain Redirect Keyword Bidding

I've recently tried testing Zeropark for push and thought I'd also try their domain redirect traffic as well, in part because according to their traffic estimator the prices looked incredibly cheap. Unfortunately in practice that doesn't seem to be the case. The 'avg cost' listed on their keyword tool in campaign creation always says insanely low numbers, almost always under a penny.

I started bidding 1-2 cents per click, but got basically no traffic. I've been creeping bids up to 7-10 cents per click and still my win ratios are down in the 1-9% ranges to T1 geos. Even in India a 2 cent bid is only getting a 10% win ratio. These are for non commercial intent keyworks too. I've asked my account manager and all he said is that my bids are too low.

Could anyone who has experience with Zeropark's domain traffic weigh in? I feel like I have to be missing something. Thanks in advance

Try upping the bids incrementally and see what happens. In zeropark, in my experience the algo prefers to give more traffic to those bidding in RON. So, if you have a tighter targeting, usually you need to bid higher before the algo will assign traffic your way. This usually means insanely higher bid than the average bid being shown in the system. If you want to, you can try bidding an insane high bid like 30 cents but remember to set you daily budget to $5 and see what happens.

An exception if you will target broad keyword instead of exact match then I think you can get a lower price.

Thank you, that must be what's happening, as I've been upping my bids to, in some cases, 20-30x the 'avg bid' and still under 10% win ratios. Unfortunately broad match doesn't seem to help, as my broad match keyword campaigns have even lower win rates than the exact match.

It seems pretty stupid to be honest, if their algorithm works this way, why even bother having keyword bidding? Maybe I'm just bitter because I wasted a day making a bunch of landing pages specifically targeted to keyword groups, which are now basically useless if I have to go RON.

Is there any sort of workaround for this? What I was thinking looking at my stats, is that almost all my (mostly) lost bids come from 3-4 zones. Do you think it would work to run a whitelist campaign to those zones only, (routing to the landing pages based on keyword in url string, or will that get the same forced overpay as keyword targeting.

Edit: Or go RON then immediately block every source/target except those

Hi!

We don't have such an algorithm and have never had an algorithm that gives preference to RON campaigns.

Bid is the most important aspect here. The lowered price on the Traffic Calculator is probably due to RON campaigns coincidentally buying some of the traffic with this keyword attached. It also depends on how big the group of advertisers buying the keyword is – if not many people are bidding on a certain keyword it could have a lower estimated price.

Using granular settings always affects the price (mobile, desktop, OS, etc.). If you write to our support, or DM me with your campaign names, we will gladly check your campaigns and try to find suitable targeting for you.
