Legal aspects of landing pages

Hi, I'm just starting my journey with affiliate marketing and I'm using Vortex 40-day tutorial to gain some knowledge. I'm already on Day 16th, but I have some concers about legal aspect of landing pages.

For example, in my country I can't advertise gambling, because it's prohibited. I understand that aggressive landing pages, with trademarked logos etc. are illegal too.
But are there any rules to create safe, legal landing page? Is it legal to use similar look and feel to popular websites? What things should I avoid to make landing page safe?

Usually, it's not a big deal until you are making lots of money (No ones going to sue you over $100) but also better safe than sorry.

If you are super concerned here is what I would do:

Make sure each page doesn't violate any trademarks / logos
Make sure you aren't stealing and using images without the rights to them
Don't copy someone's website code 100% (less important for landing pages that are swapped around everywhere - more important if you are building a brand)
Make sure you have the proper Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Affiliate Disclosure's on your page
Don't use overly misleading statements.. ex: You Won $1000. Click here and We Will Give It to You Right Now
Make sure you learn your local laws, or any laws that are applicable to you and your advertising/affiliate marketing. ex: it's illegal to spam email in the US without a functioning unsubscribe button. (CAN SPAM laws)

Thank you Rtking for your answer! What about product names? Can I use words like "iPhone" or "Samsung Galaxy" on website or, for example, in push ad title?

In case you're sending traffic to an offer where samsung or apple products are used as the prize, I don't see any problem with it. Any eshop uses product names in their ad campaigns and it's perfectly fine. A different situation would be to use LPs where you'd suggest the competition is organized or backed by apple or samsung.

But as rtking suggested, usually no-one really cares unless you're running on mega scale. The final choice is yours to make though, it's a grey territory indeed and there have been cases where even affiliates got sued... especially when using fake celebrity endorsement claims.
