Hey guys,
I set up 2 offers(same vertical-Diet, same sales price in the same location, but different sales pages) in Taboola, but got some strange results.
For the 1st week, I gave 90% budget to the 1st offer(higher payout), 10% to the 2nd offer(lower payout), and the 1st offer CR 7%; the 2nd offer CR 4%, CPC the same.
For the 2nd week, the 1st offer was paused for cap reason, so I gave 100% traffic to the 2nd offer, and CR gradually got to 5%.
For the 3rd week, the 1st offer re-opened, so I tried to transfer 10% traffic to the 1st offer, but CR was very low even though I tested for 2-3 days, still only 3-4%; while CR for the 2nd offer reached 6%. CPC for both offers were the same.
What may be the reasons for this? Is the CR affected by how much traffic I put on the offer?
Different budgets can translate to different performance for sure, since you're limiting/affecting the rotation. This means, you might have received completely different traffic now, compared to the first week.
But just to clarify, how were you setting the share %? Was that in the tracker, or you have 2 separate campaigns at taboola and you set the budget there?
What's the daily budget? The lower the daily spend, the more unstable the results can be.
Then there is the option that something was changed on the offer when it was paused... maybe they didn't pause it due to cap but wanted to make some changes to the flow...
There could be more reasons, hard to say with the limited info you provided.
