What's the general approach to timezones?
Hi,
After following the tutorials, I'm now at the bonus stage where I'm splitting campaigns into specific Geos.
Do you still set the timezone to where you're located, or does anyone alter the timezone per campaign?
Would be good to know best practice.
Cheers,
Ikem

We recommend using Schedule to target users in a specific GEO.
It all depends on the vertical as games and dating tend to convert better in the evening and over the weekend.
For example, some nutra products are sold via call centers that's why it's important to set up a campaign during their working hours.
Use this targeting taking into account the peculiarities of your campaign.

It really doesn't matter which timezone you set the campaign to - what's important is what time ranges you're wanting to run the campaign, in local time.
For the purpose of the $1 guide:
-The best thing to do would be to set a high-enough budget so that traffic will run 24/7 and won't run out to stop the campaign before the day is done. That way you can collect stats around the clock. Then after collecting stats for a few days/weeks (depending on how much you're spending and how fast the traffic comes in), you can target only the best hours (only the profitable ones), and even just the best days of the week (you'll need to track stats for at least a few weeks before being able to tell which days of week are best). This is referred to as "dayparting".
-To minimize losses, you can add this step before running the campaign 24/7 as describe above: Target the evenings of the local geo when people are at home, e.g. 5pm-12am, and set a low daily budget (which may run out before reaching the 12am or whatever but that would be OK). Of course each geo has different cultures and habits, but evenings could be a good guess/start. Run during this time range and pause the worst placement sites first. THEN run traffic 24/7 and continue to cut placements.
Of course, you can just skip the "running in the evenings and cutting the worst placements" step and go straight to running 24/7, but then you'd need to watch your campaign like a hawk to cut the worst placements - the ones that just drain your budget without converting - as quickly as you can once a placement meets the cutting criterion (e.g. 2x payout in loss).
Hope that makes sense! If it doesn't, let me know and I'll try to explain it better!

Thank you very much for that breakdown. Makes perfect sense.
As I'm now set up on
Binom, and going through the 40 day tutorial I look forward to learning more about segmenting data.
Cheers
