Who buys these leads and where do they find customers for them?

Hi this is a noob question so bear with me.

All these conversions we're generating, the advertisers must be making money off of them somehow right? So for instance the visitor gets a push ad on their phone, they click through, see a spinning wheel and get tricked into thinking they've won something, so they need to give their phone number/some other contact info.

I have no doubt that someone somewhere is profiting from this, but who do they sell these leads to? I doubt huge corporations would want these kind of leads? What do you sell to a bunch of people who are dumb enough to be tricked like this?

Energy providers, telco companies, finance/loan companies etc etc put their call centers on it. Plenty of advertisers to sell data to.

And some advertisers sell to top brands yes, but also an honest product/contest so nothing scammy or “tricked”.

You can also buy them yourself

SMS marketing is still huge, but getting quality, compliant SMS numbers is difficult. Guess who collects these opted in numbers from interested customers?

Affiliates running SOI/DOI offers.

What are the majority of SMS campaigns used for?

High-priced CC submits.

Completing the cycle.

Wow. It's so amazing to me that such a crude method of lead generation could still produce sales for anyone, much less 'honest' products/services. My guess is they buy the leads in bulk and it's a numbers game to get to the sale?

Interesting. I feel so silly now that I've been doing this for so long but it never occurred to me to find out what happens to the leads I send and turns out there's a whole ecosystem behind it.

I just got a deal to promote a local online casino, so I might want to test some of them leads ahhahaha. Where can I find these offer owners? Should I ask the aff network? I doubt they'd tell me who their advertisers are though.

Well if you have a decent proposal when calling the leads, sales shouldnt be that hard right. And some callcenters are really good, not per se "boiler room" style but good in an honest way.
