Summer experiments with Dating

Hello!, this is Dario from Spain, ready to learn and make some cash in the way. I'm a very newbie, but I've been reading most of the important threads from this section and matuloo's guide: How To Run ADULT Traffic In 2019/2020, so I hope to go on the right path. I think in business and in life in general there are 2 important values to practice: patience and persistence.

So lets get to the point:

Approved:
3 Offers from CrakRevenue payouts (75% SOI, $1.50)
3 Offers from Mobipium payouts ($2.10, $1.40, $1.20 )

GEO: Tier 2/3, ES, FR and PT
Traffic Source: Trafficjunky
Affiliate Networks: CrakRevenue, Mobipium (all offers are SOI or DOI)
Tracker: Voluum
Spyer: Adplexity
Hosting: I will try https://surge.sh, it seems to work fine for deploying static site. If is not dont work or I get banned I will go for a Vultr instance.
Angle: Social networks for dating: Tiktok, Instagram,...

I'm setting up all the backend to start the campaings. I will keep you posted!

Hello Dario

I will definitely try to help you along the way, so as soon as you have some initial numbers, post them here along with as much info as possible, so we can identify potential problems and help you move forward.

For now, I'd suggest to register with a few more networks, as the offer really is the king in adult these days... other than the 2 networks you're already with, I'd suggest to check out advidi, gotzha, rebll or clickdealer... all have a solid selection of dating offers.

And for the traffic side, register with trafficfactory, exoclick and trafficstars too... you don't have to start using all of them straight away, but it's good to have more options ready when needed.

@matuloo,@Advidi_com, thank you for your recommendations!, they are very helpful and keep me motivated. I still have a job from 9-5, so I'm spending my freetime and the nights to learn and keep working on the campaigns. Also writing this follow-along helps me to improve my english (very hard task in Spain)

Regarding your comments:

Networks:
- Advidi, (@Advidi_com thank you for the resources!!, I signed up and I hope to be working with you guys soon)
- Gotzha (Approved account, thanks to Amy's 40-days tutorial)
- Rebll (Pending to apply)
- Clickdealer (Approved account, again thanks to Amy's 40-days tutorial).

Traffic Sources:
- Trafficfactory (registered waiting for approval)
- Exoclick (Account approved)
- Trafficstars (Account approved)

Accomplishments:
- I've done research in Adplexity Adults for the best banners/landings combinations in the GEO's I'm working with (ES/PT/FR).
- Curated the landings and deployed them
- Created the first campaign in Voluum (1 Campaign - 4 Offers - 3 Landings)
- I've created 2 campaigns in TrafficJunky
- 10 Mobile Header (305x99)
- 10 Mobile Interstitial (300x250)
- Running the TJ campaigns to check if the funnel is working correctly.

My first problem comes when trying to track the costs on Voluum from TrafficJunky, converting CPM to CPC, I've been reading but as far as I can see there is no easy solution for that, right?

Thanks in advance!

Yup, unfortunately You gotta go with the CPC model and asses the average cost of the click. You will have to manually adjust the costs, there is an option to do so in voluuum. And in many cases, it makes sense to analyze to cost per placement or even creative as the cost per click will vary, each ad will have a different CTR. It sounds complicates, but you will get a hang of it pretty quickly.

I also have a custom excell sheet where I import the cvs/xml reports when I need to do a proper analysis per ad, placement, source... you can use this too later on. This part will become way easier once you gain some experience, it's like pieces of a puzzle coming together

Hello!
I would like to share some data from the campaign, I've received some good offers from Advidi (thanks to Steinar), so I will set up another campaign in parallel to get more data. Probably I'm going very slowly but I want to learn the process and take care of the details. In Spain there is a saying: "The devil is in the details"
Overall data:

Conversions: 24
Revenue: $42.83
This is the data from the campaign, the total cost of TJ is: $105.80

Mistakes:

- In Traffic Junky while creating the campaign in the schedule section is using their local time so I didn't notice and used their local time instead. That made a very big difference Spain is GMT+1 and TF is GMT-5.

Actions:

- I stoped some ads that didn't convert well and I'm starting to get very good results.

Next Steps:
- Trying to set the CPC manually in Voluum to get a better idea of the cost of the traffic.
- Take a look at the landings to check which one is converting better.

- Create new campaigns with new offers and new traffic sources in other GEOS.
- Rip and clean new landings in other language.
- Keep updating the FA

Since you're just starting out, there is no need to rush things... you would just burn your fingers and lose motivation. Proceeding slowly is a good idea at this point for sure.

- In Traffic Junky while creating the campaign in the schedule section is using their local time so I didn't notice and used their local time instead. That made a very big difference Spain is GMT+1 and TF is GMT-5.
When possible, it's a good idea to have the same time zone settings both in the tracker and traffic source, it makes reading the data easier. But it won't always be possible so you gotta learn to deal with the time differences, it's nothing complicated, you will get used to it pretty quickly.

I stoped some ads that didn't convert well and I'm starting to get very good results.
That's great to hear. But don't rush the optimization too much. In my experience, the most important part is to have solid offers, then you need to give each ad some time, in order for them to show whether they can work with the best offers. When launching a campaign, you have multiple offers in it and chances are that some ads won't perform with certain offers, but they might work with different ones. So do not try to optimize everything at once. Start with offers, then move to ADs or LPs. LPs can last way longer than banners, so prepare to dedicate more time to test ads than LPs.

Thank you matuloo!,

I've followed your advice, running more offers, and running the same offers with other traffic sources. With Exoclick I'm very close to getting profit =) I've also discovered very good integration with Exoclick + Voluum API for tracking the costs from CPM to CPC.

Another powerful thing is the Bidding Algorithm in Exoclick, I can automate the cost control otherwise it will suck up all the budget quickly (too many zones).

One last thing that is helping me a lot is reading the stats from PornHub Insights from 2019 in order to structure the campaign in TrafficJunky (schedule, ads, LP angles)

I will take more time this weekend to have a better update of this journey =)

Nice, you're very close to profit, with some optimization and more creative testing, you should get there pretty soon.

The reports from pornhub are always great, makes you realize what niches are hot in what GEO... this way, you can design the right creatives to get the best results.

And yes, exo has the best platform imo... very fast, great targeting options... if only they were more picky when it comes to the publishers, there are so many bad sites in their inventory. But once you find the good ones, you can make a lot of money with this traffic sources, it's the biggest out there in adult.
