Gasmobi tracking issue!!!!! [resolved]
I was launching 2 campaigns with my affiliate network yesterday and today and I was wondering why I was not getting any conversions. I figured it was bot traffic or something. Only for me to find out from my affiliate manager that I had actually made multiple conversions and the problem was that I set up my offer links TOTALLY wrong so they would not give the conversions to me.
I looked @vortex guide Day 9 for Binom tracker.
I thought that I could simply take this part and attach it to the offer link.
?tag={clickid}&website={trafficsource}& placement={campaign}
But according to my affiliate manager, I was supposed to do this instead:
?Subid={YOUR_PUBID_HERE}&sub_pubid={YOUR_SUB_PUBID _HERE}&externalid={YOUR_CLICKID_HERE}
The problem that I am facing is that while I understand that I can use clickid, my affiliate manager demands that I need a subid as well in addition to a click id. My problem is that I do not know what a Sub id is! And to make matters worse, Binom does not seem to have a Sub id. I spoke with the Binom support team and they told me that there is no sub id and I could just use this:
?externalid={clickid}
At this point I have no idea what I should be doing. I just don't want to lose $40 again on 2 campaigns. Can somebody tell me how to set a sub id when I am already using click id?

Sorry to hear! Let's fix this.
First of all, which affiliate network is this? The arrangement you quoted above was only applicable to
Mobidea, and I verified this with them when I last updated the tutorial. If this is incorrect, I'll need to ask whether they've updated their configuration since then, and update the instructions in the tutorial.
And Binom does not have {subid} as a token. The final offer link you put into binom should be in this format (assuming you're running a
Mobidea offer):
https://www.rotatemyurls.com/offer/11111|13456?tag={clickid}&website={trafficsource}& placement={campaign}
Tracking can be confusing. Please wait until we've verified all the links before resuming traffic. And then, let's run a low-payout offer that converts half-decent and run $10 at a time and check with the aff network again.
When you said they wouldn't give you the conversions, do you mean they won't pay for them? If they can track that the conversions came from you, why wouldn't they pay for them? What's their justification?

The network is Gasmobi. I should have clarified. I finished your 40 day guide and while it has definitely helped a lot. There is still so much to learn, re-read, and internalize, that it can be easy to mess up on the small and seemingly obvious things. I actually thought I could replace anything with that tracking link get parameter and it would work. Mobidea was the only network I worked with before Gasmobi besides the $1 guide.
The conversions were said to be shown as an error according the affiliate manager. I just checked the affiliate network and they actually did pay for them so never mind about that part. The low payout offer part I actually did do but I ran two campaigns at the same time two days in a row. The postback works. I just messed up all the offer links.
My current situation is that my affiliate manager wants me to, "make sure to pass something in the Subid= parameter in the tracking link". And I just don't know what she means. Pass any token? Put clickid there? Put campaign id there?
This is all I know so far:
?Subid={YOUR_PUBID_HERE}&sub_pubid={YOUR_SUB_PUBID _HERE}&externalid={clickid}
Something that I was wondering then, in your case whenever you join an affiliate network, do you often ask them to verify that an offer link was set up correctly? At times I find myself wanting to say something yet on the other hand if I say too much, I don't want to be that affiliate who needs the affiliate manager to hold his hand all the way through campaign setup.

Ah OK! No need to feel bad - tracking IS confusing. It took me several months before I got a good grasp of it.
For future reference though:
Mobidea is running on their own proprietary platform so their tracking is...unique. I couldn't figure out how they rolled either - basically had to get instructions from them directly.
The good news is that most other networks work in similar ways, so once you figure out one of them, you can apply the same thought process to the rest. Please note though that every network and every tracker has their own tracking tokens. Let me recommend some threads to read over and over again to get a good grasp of how tracking works:

https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...-Read-This-Now
https://stmforum.com/forum/showthrea...lly-made-sense
So now - back to Gasmobi. Please provide the following information and we'll sort things out together:
1)Your Gasmobi offer link (you can change a few of the digits to protect your privacy - same applies to another other link you're posting; I just need to show you the tracking tokens to append to links).
2)Which tracker you're using? Please provide the postback url you got from your tracker.
3)In your Gasmobi account, find the place where you insert the postback - there should be a list of tokens shown. Please show me a screenshot of these tokens.

You can ask, and sometimes they'll provide instructions on how you can send a test conversion to verify that the network is posting conversions back to your tracker. But you really don't won't to check every single offer in this way, because offers on the same affiliate network can be set up the same way, so once you get the first offer set up correctly, you'll know how to set up all other offers from the same network.
Glad to know you have some low-payout offers to run - let's figure out the links!

Thank you Amy,
I am grateful for your help!

2 and 3.
Binom ; https://tracking675849302.xyz/click.php?cnv_id={{EXTERNAL_ID}}&payout={{MONEY}} ; I understand this is the same Postback for
Mobidea. My affiliate manager asked me for a postback I gave it to her and she set it for me and then it worked. For some reason there is no option to change my postback or anything it seems to be handled by my affiliate manager.

My pleasure!
I need to see the list of tracking tokens from your network - we can't do anything until we have that information. {{EXTERNAL_ID}} and {{MONEY}} are
Mobidea's tokens, and Gasmobi likely has different tokens.
I've left a message with my contact at Gasmobi - let me quickly get an account set up there and do a test conversion and get back to you.
If I don't reply here in 48 hours tops, please bump this thread to get my attention.
In the meantime: Is there another network you can run traffic with? We can verify the tracking links for that if you like!

1. For the subid they told me to just identify the source. So for example: Subid=fb12&externalid={clickid} I am waiting for a response from my affiliate manager about the postback also.
2. I will figure something out. I am on Sinom Vendo, Mappstreet, YepAds, and Clickdealer so finding a different offer will not be an issue. I will report back.

Alright my Gasmobi AM responded very quickly! Let's do this!
Offer Link Setup:
-Your original offer link is:
https://mobi.billiwa.com/ofc/d1620aee-12015576-5cfc4765-78f0-dfb1/56edq03c-bm069c12-4gdd3a40c-f5bf-1627?Subid={YOUR_PUBID_HERE}&sub_pubid={YOUR_SUB_P UBID_HERE}&externalid={YOUR_CLICKID_HERE}
-When you create the offer in
Binom, you'll need to replace the tokens with
Binom's tokens:
https://mobi.billiwa.com/ofc/d1620aee-12015576-5cfc4765-78f0-dfb1/56edq03c-bm069c12-4gdd3a40c-f5bf-1627?Subid={trafficsource}&sub_pubid={campaign}&ex ternalid={clickid}
-Explanation of the 3 tracking variables from Gasmobi - for your reference:
Subid = for the publisher ID in case of networks and for traffic source for individuals. Individuals can add any numeric value in order to be able to optimize their traffic if needed.
sub_pubid = for subsources for deeper checks, but it´s barely used.
externalid = for the ClickID. Whenever a pub has a postback added to his account, the clickID needs to be added, otherwise the conversion enters as an error as the system wasnt able to notify the publishers´ postback. Ofcourse these conversions do get registered on our side and paid to the pubs, as they are normal valid leads.
In short, they prefer that you use "subid=" to track the traffic source, "sub_pubid=" can be used to track anything else you want - your campaign ID for example. And "externalid=" is used for the click ID.
When the traffic source shows the campaign url to users (i.e. when your ad pops up/under), Binom will fill these token values with actual values. For example:
https://mobi.billiwa.com/ofc/d1620ae...ternalid=33333
-Next - you want to set up your postback so that if user 33333 actually converts, Gasmobi can tell binom "hey - user 33333 converted!" so binom can show this in tracker stats.
Postback Setup:
-Your original postback url:
https://tracking675849302.xyz/click.php?cnv_id={network_token}&payout={payout}
-You'll need to revise this link by replacing the tokens with Gasmobi's tokens, as follows:
https://tracking675849302.xyz/click.php?cnv_id={externalid}&payout={payout}
-For your reference, here are Gasmobi's postback tokens:
Clickid: {externalid}
Payout: {payout}
Transaction ID: {tx_id}
-And as you already know, you'll need to give this postback to your AM - there's no way to insert this ourselves.
Test Conversion:
-Next, just create your campaign in binom as normal, then give the campaign url to your AM and ask them to fire a test conversion.
-If you see the conversion in binom you're all set!
Any problems/questions, please let me know below and I'll take another look. The setup above should work, although unfortunately I wouldn't able to test it due to some issues with my tracker setup (I haven't used binom in a while and there's something wrong with my custom domain, not a binom issue). So I wasn't able to verify it using a test conversion.
Good luck! And please let me know either way - if it works or doesn't.

@mastersquirrel Tracker setup issue resolved! The test conversion is showing up in the tracker, so the setup above is correct. Let me know if you don't get it to work!

Thank you again @vortex . Every day I am reminded this forum should cost more than $90 a month. Didn't have much direction when trying to do SEO on Blackhatworld. As a moderator is it okay if you changed the thread title to include GasMobi? That way if someone else is having problems with setting up links with GasMobi they can just easily refer to this page?

You're very welcome! Glad to help and thanks for being a member!
That's a great idea - will change the title. I've also told my Gasmobi contact about this thread so she can direct other STM'ers to this info if they need it.
