Affiliate traffic trends 2020 (Q3-Q4) review by Yep Ads
Affiliate traffic trends 2020 (Q3-Q4) review by Yep Ads
It’s the middle of the year, which was turbulent to say the least, but now let’s take a look at the bright future of affiliate marketing. We believe that
2020 will be a bigger and better year for affiliate marketers as the tech and possibilities come pouring in. As the industry evolves players evolve as well, so today we will try to take a look in the future and see what it holds for affiliate marketers and people whose main source of income is their traffic expertise.
In this article we will cover two things: promising traffic sources and verticals in affiliate marketing that are going to be the cream of the crop in 2020. Let’s talk about traffic sources first.
Traffic sources

Let’s start with heavyweights —
Google and Facebook, as time passes, they keep gathering the audience and providing affiliates who can properly run campaigns with more and more high-quality traffic. However, there are a lot of obstacles to overcome and they keep piling up on a pretty much daily basis.
During elections this year most probably,
Facebook will become a moderation nightmare and ban pretty much everything, but for a seasoned affiliate who can come up with creative approaches that time will be great because the competition will be lackluster.
Affiliates run a plethora of offers on Facebook, but the most lucrative and widespread are
Nutra, E-commerce and Finance. In CIS geos
betting and casino offers are promoted via Facebook and prove to be very profitable, but they require a geo-specific approach, as most of the CIS audience prefer to play in casinos and bet with mobile apps, so the funnel may be slightly different.
As for
Google - search traffic is not going anywhere, it is and it will be crème de la crème for affiliates who can work with Google Ads and utilize SEO methods properly. However, as time passes, the skill requirement for working with Google is getting higher and higher. So, if you want to work with this highly lucrative traffic source you should’ve started learning yesterday.
Google, same as Facebook, requires a lot of skills but for those affiliates running
Nutra and E-commerce Google Ads can prove to be especially effective, if done right.
Then there are
push notifications — the year 2019 was a rollercoaster for this advertising format with its highs and lows and it’s possible that right now everyone on the planet Earth is subscribed to push one way or another. And if you don’t see the opportunity there, that’s on you.
Those experienced with push format should pay close attention to ever expanding variety of push format:
in-app push and in-page push. They are less intrusive and can be pretty effective for those affiliates who already have the approaches and expertise with push format and looking for scaling possibilities.
For affiliates running push campaigns,
Dating, Sweepstakes, CC submit and Software verticals are the most attractive, as they provide huge volumes of relatively cheap traffic.
Push traffic can be used for scaling existing Nutra and E-commerce campaigns, but the funnel should be adjusted accordingly.
Pop traffic may be dying since its inception, but there are people who are successfully running campaigns and making a profit on it while keeping the myth alive and taking the best piece of traffic pie for themselves for a very good price.
Pop formats keep evolving, despite the fact that Chrome is cutting down on then. Even now advertising networks add new formats to their inventory. The latest one is
interstitials — a new format that resembles tried and true pop, while complying with Chrome’s requirements and providing good engagement rates. Combined with the expertise and a good approach this format may become a goldmine for affiliates.
Pop traffic works with
Dating, Sweepstakes and Software. The audience is always looking for something free or tempting, so the above offers will do great on POP traffic.
And of course, the elephant in the room,
TikTok is all the rage right now and as it is opening its gates to advertisers. The only obstacle to overcome is getting an advertisers account, but there definitely are agencies willing to help and provide the necessary services.
Yep Ads can help you monetizing this new and fast-growing traffic source.
SMS traffic is still there, but the regulatory offices keep on cutting down on malignant advertising, that was so widespread a few years ago that right now it’s difficult to launch a profitable campaign with this type of traffic in Europe, CIS and Asian geos. But as always there are exceptions. Ask your Yep Ads affiliate manager for the ‘secret sauce’.
But if you are set on running SMS campaigns you should definitely take a look at LATAM and African geos as they are developing and relatively fresh markets where money still can be made with
wapclick, Software, and CC Submit verticals.
Verticals
As for verticals they are changing and expanding.
Betting vertical suffered the most from coronavirus and shrank to mere fragments of its previous scale. However, once the matches begin again there will be a torrent of people willing to bet on their favorite teams and players. So, betting will eventually recover and it's just a matter of time. Keep your guns ready.
While betting was hemorrhaging players, casinos were doing their best to “catch” them and introduce them to online gambling. Right now, gambling vertical is bigger than it ever was, and may very well keep growing.
The so-called social casinos are a breath of fresh air for those wishing to test their luck, without hurting their wallet, and for affiliates that sub-vertical may be very lucrative. It has its downsides compared to traditional casinos, but if you take your time and let the player get hooked — the commissions will come.
As casino offers require high-quality traffic the sources should be chosen accordingly. Facebook traffic is one of the most effective ones but bear in mind that Facebook is not OK with the advertising of gambling, so you’ll have to come up with creative angles. Review sites are still doing alright, but there is one promising approach — streaming, where people “play” in casinos and provide people with affiliate links. This method is relatively new, but there are people who are already making money on it.
We can’t really talk about affiliate marketing and don’t mention
Nutra vertical, as it’s one of the oldest and largest there is. People want to be young, fit, and beautiful without exercising, so demand is definitely there. People all around the world spent the last few months lying on their couches dreaming about their hot and fit summertime bodies, so it's just a matter of the offer to promote and hitting the right audience.
Although with the
new Mastercard and Visa regulations this vertical is under some pressure. But with the right offer, there is still some good volume to be made. Ask your Yep Ads affiliate manager for more details.
One of the recent trends in Nutra is
CBD, the miracle drug, one pill to cure everything. Thanks to all the buzz around CBD oil, people get excited about CBD products and readily purchase them, in countries where it's legal, of course. And the best thing is that CBD is legal in mostly Tier 1 geos, so payouts there are quite attractive.
Sweepstakes will be a big hit this year with upcoming launches of PS5, new lineups of iPhones and flagship Android phones, so there will be enough attractive sweepstake offers to go around and people will definitely be interested in those no matter where they live because everyone would like a chance to get a nice new phone or gaming console. So no matter the opt-in model, this vertical will reach new heights, especially with new products and newly-opened geos, that are ripe for the taking.
CC submits offers are now going anywhere and will follow the trend. Given the relatively simple flow, high payouts
(up to $40) and a variety of accepted traffic, combined with a spike in newly available products and people’s general interest in giveaways affiliates, who can create a proper funnel will make good profits in the foreseeable future.
Affiliate marketing in 2020 will be developing in a very different and unexpected pace, and marketers will have to face new challenges and overcome them by working smarter and expanding their expertise while working with something they are proficient with or exploring new verticals, traffic sources and approaches. As the whole world is changing affiliates have to adapt and be quick on their feet so seize the profits and make the best of the ever-changing marketing landscape.
Good luck and the tests will tell!

User Behaviour Shifts During Lockdown and Beyond - Overview by Yep Ads
User Behaviour Shifts During Lockdown and Beyond: Offer Verticals Thriving in Crisis – Overview by Yep Ads
As lockdown measures are being cautiously lifted across Europe, it is now more than clear that the corona crisis has caused
massive shifts in consumer behaviour. Although the long-term impact of this
black swan event remains largely unknown, some of its effects such as the digitalization of almost all aspects of our daily life are obvious.
In this blog post, we would like to break down emerging user behaviour patterns by vertical and also talk about what to expect after the lockdown.
E-commerce

People are confined to the safety of their homes and are unable to go to a mall or their local grocery store. This is already causing a major shift towards online shopping, and
much of the recent data suggests that this is a lasting trend.
In April alone, the retail sector saw an impressive 209% growth in global e-commerce sales compared to the same period last year,
ACI Worldwide reports. As the lockdown continued, the e-commerce sector grew rapidly, resulting in a
60.2% rise in non-food online sales in May.
E-commerce has become the “new normal”, and after the outbreak ends, consumers are likely to prefer online shopping over offline, be it grocery, clothes, or electronics.
Streaming services & VOD
Digital content consumption is
on the rise as people are stuck inside. Thanks to lockdown, streaming services like
Netflix and Hulu are getting millions of new sign-ups each month.
While older generations
seem to favor traditional TV streaming, Gen Xers are into video content on YouTube and other social networking platforms. So, it may be worth taking a while to study each generation’s preferences and expectations to deliver
tailor-made marketing campaigns and maximize conversions.
Gaming

The same principle applies here: people spend more time at home and are seeking entertainment, as well as relief from boredom and anxiety. Especially in these trying times. This is exactly the reason why online gaming offers are seeing a rise in their revenue.
Social casinos and other gambling-related products are also forecasted to continue growing. And although free-of-charge gambling simulations without profit-making opportunities might have seemed a pointless activity some time ago, they are becoming increasingly relevant now as people are losing their income.
WebCam & Online dating
Human interaction is one of the basic needs that we have and that has not been fully met in the era of social distancing. In response to this lack of communication,
online dating and adult offers such as WebCam and live chats are witnessing huge spikes.
According to certain camming sites, the number of new viewers
has grown twofold this year as compared to early 2019. Online dating apps are also exploding during the lockdown and
there’s enough evidence that virtual video dates are here to stay after the world recovers from Covid-19.
Communication software & collaboration apps

The outbreak has given a
powerful boost to the digitalization of work and social life. People working remotely are the main consumers of video conferencing apps and collaboration tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and many more.
As the lockdown is being gradually eased, the work-from-home trend is only gaining momentum. Turns out having employees work remotely is beneficial for businesses and workers alike who find that they are now spending their time more productively.
The
Covid-19 Pulse Survey released on June 15 claims that
more than half of US CFOs are planning to make remote work a permanent option for positions that allow it. Since remote work becomes the norm for many, the demand for video conferencing and collaboration apps is set to reach record highs.
Work-from-home offers
The same Pulse Survey revealed that some 30% of leaders are expecting layoffs in the next month. However, whether the employees will lose their jobs or not, people are already concerned about their financial well-being as household incomes are dropping globally.
This opens up a lot of opportunities for those who promote remote money-making offers such as filling surveys, etc., investment offers, as well as online education courses and offers teaching money-making skills.
Health and safety products

Coronavirus is spreading panic across the globe, which has both negative and positive repercussions. For one, people are more concerned about their health and safety. Offers that are in demand right now include medical and psychological support, insurance, and coronavirus-related offers such as face masks, sanitizers, gloves, and immune-boosting medications.
Moreover, weight loss pills and fitness offers are expected to surge in popularity once more people are allowed to leave their homes. Stress eating out of anxiety and loneliness has become a common issue during the lockdown, which is bound to result in increased weight loss product sales.
A lot of changes caused by the coronavirus outbreak and the ensuing lockdown have proved to be irreversible. People and businesses have become more open to all things digital, be it online shopping, video content, web learning opportunities, or remote working apps. Most of these user behaviour shifts are here to stay, which is offering a pool of new opportunities for affiliate marketing professionals.
If you are an affiliate marketer and wish to use this crisis to your advantage, be sure to reach out to us and we will help you pick up the right offers to promote in these challenging yet opportunity-rich times.

Affiliate Marketing Landscape 5 Years in the Past and 5 Years in the Future
The Yep Ads team is proud to announce that we are celebrating our fifth anniversary this month. This is why in this blog post we are taking a look at the past, where we started, and also having a glimpse into the future.
Affiliate marketing 5 years ago

By the year 2022, affiliate marketing is projected to grow into an
8.2 billion dollar industry, and that is in the US alone. Those companies that used to be sсeptical about whether affiliate marketing could be of benefit to their business are now struggling to implement this promising strategy into their digital advertising efforts.
The question remains as to what caused this major shift in the way people and businesses alike perceive affiliate marketing. One possible answer is that the past few years saw
major improvements in the tracking and analytics technology, as well as stricter governmental regulations.
As countries throughout the globe cracked down on ad fraud and imposed new rules and guidelines to better protect businesses and consumers,
the affiliate marketing landscape was growing more secure by the day. Various verticals have to deal with
stricter online advertising regulations and billing practices.
In an effort to simplify the regulatory framework and establish unified data protection rules across a number of states, the EU adopted the
General Data Protection Regulation back in 2016. The GDPR has been in action since May 2018 and still remains one of the most comprehensive documents on online safety and consumer rights.

On the affiliate marketing side, increased regulations and higher quality measures resulted in growing competition between industry players and collapsing smaller networks that failed to evolve and adapt to the changing ecosystem.
The market in general became smarter and more mature, which cleared a path for companies like Yep Ads that represented an online ecosystem of value-added businesses rather than just a network. Affiliate marketing companies of a new generation have grown more adaptive and now combine both products and smarter data and traffic processing tools.
Tracking technology improvements have made it much easier for businesses to analyse the results of their affiliate marketing strategies, which led to higher KPI requirements. To stay on top of their game and ensure long-term survival, affiliate networks now employ state-of-the-art attribution and fraud detection tools to filter out bot traffic and determine real user behaviour.
Another noteworthy shift is increased market volatility. In order to deal with black swan events, global supply and demand chain disruptions, as well as rapidly changing market environments, affiliate networks had to take a decentralized organizational approach. That is, create a more horizontal management structure and establish a local presence in overseas countries. In line with this, Yep Ads was designed with a specific goal in mind: to handle shifting markets, spot new opportunities, and effectively identify upcoming trends.
Affiliate marketing 5 years from now

As affiliate marketing grows in importance, so do affiliate networks that help marketers succeed in the rapidly changing world we live in. A trustworthy and reliable partner in the modern affiliate landscape is one that has the relevant expertise in the field and a variety of services and tools designed to tackle existing challenges.
We envision that in order to bring value and customer quality control in the online marketing world partnerships and consolidation of affiliate networks are manifesting as the strategic solution, and this is likely to be a long-term trend. Rather than leading to a weaker industry, consolidation creates networks that have the human and technological resources needed to cater to the demands of companies and brands in a modern world.
In order to stay relevant and secure for the years to come, affiliate marketing companies or conglomerates have to tap into cutting-edge analytics technologies such as multi-touch attribution or best-in-class customer tracking. Another thing to focus on is increasing value proposition and finding new ways to create added value for demand and supply-side partners such as better API integration and optimizing the reporting and billing trackers.
There is also a not-so-obvious, underlying reason behind the consolidation of affiliate business and solo affiliates into larger companies or teams, namely a growing need to handle big data. As brands want to know more about their customers and consumer behaviour patterns, decision-making in online advertising is increasingly being led by data. In its turn, managing big data requires both considerable human resources and faster, more powerful server infrastructure.

The future will be all about speed and convenience, and so brands and marketing agencies alike need to move faster to come up with advertising strategies that incorporate structured data, sophisticated analytics, and tools that bring in a wide range of information from online and offline channels.
Another long-awaited shift is a focus on people, which implies both enhancing the skills that employees already have and hiring new talented staff. There is a rising understanding that business must always be balanced by its people to foster an environment of knowledge-sharing, adaptability, and, consequently, growth.
The demand for affiliate marketing professionals has been consistently on the rise over the last several years. As the affiliate industry is becoming crucial to increasing sales for nearly every type of business, its future gets increasingly dominated by data and the evolution of technology. For those who have learned how to spot new perspectives and adapt to the changing environment by establishing new partnerships and fostering a favourable environment for all industry players, the future holds numerous opportunities to grow and succeed.

YepCast EP.2: 5 years of greatness
The second episode of YepCast is here and it’s already an anniversary! As the company is approaching its 5-year milestone, we’ve talked with
Yep Ads CEO, Jeroen Rozemeijer, and
Yep Ads COO, Nelson Cheung, and discussed their experiences and thoughts on what it takes to build a truly diverse company that has endured in the everchanging affiliate marketing industry and still strives towards greatness every single day.
From the very beginning, Yep Ads was a company striving for greatness above all things, and it is no easy task. Nelson told us about the challenges and problems that stood in front of him and Jeroen and how they overcame them by being a
better, more diverse, and technology-driven enterprise.
Being an international company with offices all over the world Yep Ads has a unique perspective on other cultures and business insight achievable only by being everywhere at once. This comes with its own set of challenges but being a truly international company never intended to be easy. Such an approach gives the opportunity to work with people from a variety of backgrounds and provide flexibility to the company. As for Nelson, Yep Ads’ global reach helps create a unique community of people driven towards self-improvement and development.
“We did not start this company 5 years ago just to be a mediocre affiliate marketing company, we wanted to build something with impact”, — In Jeroen’s opinion the core value and asset of a company are its people, goal-oriented, driven and eager people who are devoted to creating a great and impactful company.
When asked about the surprises that Yep Ads encountered throughout its 5-year journey Nelson said that
pretty much everything was a surprise, as everything was different from his previous experiences, and the only thing he could expect was the unexpected, and that drove him towards self-development.
For Jeroen, the surprise was the number of talented people that are active in this industry building companies at a fairly young age, but also people in Yep Ads carrying big responsibilities and being able to do great things when they are still relatively young.
And finishing was two very simple and yet wise pieces of wisdom from Jeroen and Nelson. When asked: “What would you advice yourself 5 years ago?”, both of them gave a different, and yet great answer that all of us should consider.
For more insights into Yep Ads' history and lessons learned from five years in the turbulent world of affiliate marketing, listen to the second episode on
Apple Podcast or

Stay tuned!

How to Grow Your Affiliate Marketing Business During Difficult Times
How to Grow Your Affiliate Marketing Business During Difficult Times
The Covid-19 outbreak has been shaking global economies for over four months. Some industries have been hit disproportionately hard by the shutdown, but there’s no business or niche that has been spared from the devastating impact of the pandemic.
The affiliate marketing industry is also
experiencing a set of challenges ranging from the global supply chain disruption to reduced commissions and plummeting ad revenue. Business owners and marketing experts alike are forced to reorganize their work processes to stay afloat in these daring times.
However,
this is not the first and the last crisis in our lifetime. We have already lived through a couple of economic recessions, and more are likely to follow. Fortunately, affiliate marketers have already learned that you need to be versatile and open to new opportunities to stay successful in our industry. In this blog post, we would like to outline the effect of coronavirus on our business and share some actionable tips on
how to survive any crisis as an affiliate and even profit from it.
Coronavirus impact on the affiliate marketing industry

The effect of the pandemic on the affiliate marketing business is multifarious. Market sectors have benefited and suffered unevenly and in different ways. While some niches have screeched to an almost complete halt,
others are seeing huge spikes revenue-wise. Some of these are digital entertainment, online education, healthcare, remote work equipment, and work-from-home offers.
А lot of affiliate marketers are reporting a drop in their ad revenue аgainst the backdrop of the pandemic. However, that’s only one side of the story. As more and more people are stuck inside, we are seeing an
unprecedented increase in website and search traffic. Recent studies suggest that most user behavior patterns that have shifted during the crisis are here to stay. So, although the impact of the coronavirus may be slashing affiliate profits in some offer verticals,
other products and services are performing quite well now and are set to remain popular in the near future.
Now, let’s move on to tips on how to stay successful as an affiliate marketer and grow your business during crisis times.
Stay updated on the industry’s latest trends

Flexibility is the name of the game, especially in our dynamic industry that is always growing and changing. As has been already mentioned, the impact of the pandemic on the affiliate business varies considerably from niche to niche, product to product, and offer to offer. To stay on top of your game, you need to
keep track of how the market is evolving and be ready to move when the opportunity is there.
To keep up with the recent trends as an affiliate, follow these simple steps:
- Stay in touch with your affiliate manager who has a vested interest in your success.
- Subscribe to an affiliate marketing newsletter or news site.
- Network on forums and affiliate communities such as STM, AffiliateFix, affLIFT, etc.
- Join industry-relevant Facebook groups. For instance, Facebook Ad Buyers, Google Ad Buyers, or MRKTHUB.
- Attend affiliate conferences such as Affiliate World, Affiliate Summit, and TES.
Find out what people need the most right now

If you want to promote offers that convert in these trying times, you need to find out
what products and services are in high demand among consumers at the moment. Luckily enough, affiliates have more flexibility than other businesses when it comes to switching to a new product category. However, this doesn’t mean that moving to a completely new offer vertical doesn’t take time and effort. That’s why it is economically reasonable only if you can count on long-term benefits.
Here are some of the niches that are exploding right now and are expected to grow for months or even years to come:
- E-commerce. We better embrace that E-commerce is now the new normal as millions of people have been forced to stay inside or limit their movements. The resulting upsurge in virtual sales is projected to gain momentum in the upcoming months.
- Online entertainment. Those in lockdown need to escape from boredom and inaction, which has given a strong boost to entertainment offers of all sorts ranging from TV streaming and VOD to gaming and gambling.
- Virtual dating and cam sites. The online dating vertical is booming in the times of social distancing when people are reluctant to go outside and meet new people offline in fear of getting the virus.
- Personal protective equipment and healthcare, including mental health and psychological support services.
- Communication apps and remote work software. People have been sent to work remotely for months, which fuels the demand for apps like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
- Remote money-making opportunities such as filling in surveys or passive income investments.
- Online education. Many people see working from home as a chance to learn something new or hone their existing skills.
Help people laid off amid the crisis by providing remote work opportunities
Affiliates have to perform a lot of routine tasks, so why not jump at the opportunity to
delegate some work to those flooding the labor market? The pandemic has left too many people unemployed or underemployed, and millions more are expected to lose their jobs as a result of the Covid-19 outbreak. People are now more interested in remote work than ever, and so you can hire freelancers to get some of your tasks done for you. Instead, you will be able to
scale up your affiliate marketing campaigns and expand your business focus.
Diversify your risks

Use this time to
learn something new and ask yourself questions like: What can I do that can help my career? What can I do better than anyone else? What other affiliate marketing sectors can I expand to? These can be lead generation, E-commerce, blogging, running webinars, or even conferences.
Now is the best moment for
mastering your skills and learning new stuff on platforms like Coursera that are now offering free courses and workshops. By expanding your focus into other verticals and niches, you will be able to both
diversify your risks and survive this crisis without losing your profits.
So, despite the devastating impact the coronavirus pandemic has produced on digital marketing and the global economy in general, there are still a lot of opportunities you can seize to
stay ahead of your competition. By being
open to the changing needs of consumers and constantly
readjusting your strategy to respond to the ever-evolving digital landscape, you will persevere and
Thrive even during such uncertain times.

Split Testing: is it worth it? - Yep Ads
Split Testing – is it worth it?
Testing is probably one of the most important things there is in affiliate marketing. And the number of things that require testing is vast: creatives, texts, traffic sources, and affiliate networks. The list very well may be infinite, but the budget never is, right?
So, when starting in a new vertical you’ll have to consider many things that can influence your campaign’s performance.
To split or not to split

Monetizing traffic is a truly complex process and the number of details and variables that require attention is truly astonishing. When you split test something you basically multiply everything by two or even more
to find out what works best. So, you should ask yourself
“to split or not to split?”. Once you’ve answered that you should think about what you can split and what you can’t.
Given that you have some expertise with your traffic, you may know your average EPC or other metric based on previous experience or calculations.
Initial testing may become hectic when testing everything the affiliate network or vertical can offer. Affiliate networks provide different conditions on seemingly similar offers and payment conditions may be heavily influenced by that. So, all of your calculations may
turn out to be absolutely worthless, and your budget melts away because you’ve sent your traffic to too many affiliate networks and were unable to reach payout thresholds.
If you have your mindset on a particular network or an offer — go with it, keep working with your traffic, and the partner that provides you with terms and tools that allow you to reach sufficient EPCs and avoid payout gaps.
Less testing for more results

If you choose to work with 2, maybe 3 affiliate networks you will still have to work with a variety of offers,
different offers and networks equal different conditions, and will require allocating your resources and traffic.
While offers may seem similar the results would vary.
Once you’ve decided to test at least one offer you still have to spend double or triple the payout volume. For example, you spend 100$ from ad networks on testing 2 offers from 3 networks: you’ll spend only 16$ on the actual testing of each offer, and it’s never enough to reach any kind of justified conclusion, as the data simply won’t be representative enough. And even if you do succeed somewhere you’ll have to deal with payout thresholds of three affiliate networks, and your cash flow won’t thank you for that.
So, it is much more reasonable to test similar offers in one network than to go around and micro test everything else there is.
Testing hand in hand
When driving traffic to offers you will constantly need competent and experienced advice. And remember, in affiliate marketing, everybody relies on you and your traffic, but the best case is to work with someone you work closely with.
It’s a partnership, the more you give, the more you get – so give to somebody who is truly involved.
So, if you are wondering whether you should split test a bunch of affiliate networks and offers, consider one more thing:
if they can tweak and tailor the offer to your particular needs. Many networks can do that, some might cooperate, but only a fraction will really meet your needs. It may come as personal payout conditions, custom tracking tools, and promos. Such things come from a partnership that is tried and true, where the affiliate is motivated to work with a strong partner and the affiliate manager is not just a sales guy in a different hat, but a professional who can provide adequate support and expertise.
A good partner got you covered
As an affiliate marketer, you have so much freedom in choosing what and who to work with that you may get lost and spend all of your money while trying to test everything time and time again. Of course, there may be the one offer that will make you rich, but there may be a way to get there without testing literally everything –
it’s choosing the right partner. Remember that you have your traffic skills and you know how to convert it. You can browse through many affiliate networks and offers to look for something you need, satisfying conditions and terms that would make it worth your while. Or maybe you can just choose to work with a single partner who is willing to give you all the custom tools you need, help you with the cash flow, and, if needed, create a bespoke offer for you. Yep Ads can do that for you.
And remember: it doesn’t mean that you settle for less when you find the right partner and stick with him. It means you are going towards greatness with a partner by your side.

YepCast EP.3: Affiliate marketing in the CIS market
YepCast EP.3: Affiliate marketing in the CIS market
For the third YepCast episode, we have invited
Roman Seet from Affpeople to talk about
affiliate marketing in the CIS region.
Roman is an affiliate marketing enthusiast from Russia with 6 years of experience under his belt. In this episode,
he shares his insight into affiliate marketing in the CIS region, as it may come with its nuances and differences from the western world.
Affiliate marketing is all about the connections you forge and CIS affiliates are interested in partnerships with someone able to provide expertise and good offers. Finding Russian-speaking affiliates may be a challenge, but Roman covered ways of making sure that you reach your audience.
The language barrier may seem overwhelming but that shouldn’t discourage you from trying to find your partners, remember – there is always more than one way to skin a cat.
Traffic experts from all over the world tend to form communities, and CIS affiliates are no exception. They may be small casual, and relatively new communities with newbies or decades-old forums with codes of conduct and media buyers who can deliver huge volumes of traffic from a variety of sources. Finding those communities may be a little difficult, but
Roman shared a hint so you won’t have to wander in the dark.
Affiliate marketing verticals in CIS, while being pretty much the same as WW alternatives have a slight tweak, and affiliates who know how to work with those make great profits, be it Gambling or Nutra or any other vertical.
When it comes to traffic sources the choice is vast, but there can only be one king and today it’s Facebook. CIS affiliates mastered it in many creative ways to make huge profits and make sure that the quality of traffic stays top-notch.
The Russian-speaking market can be a little peculiar, but it shouldn’t stop you from trying to explore it, as it is ripe with possibility and the market is full of super affiliates driving crazy volumes. Listen to the full episode on
Apple Podcast or
Spotify to get deeper insights.
Stay tuned!

How to grow your business during Black Friday & Cyber Monday
How to grow your business during Black Friday & Cyber Monday
2020 despite being turbulent is going to be a
record-setter in e-commerce and online sales in general, as more and more people choose to shop from the comfort of their homes. Even 2020s Black Friday will not be an exception. As the 27th of November is approaching people are getting ready for 2020s Black Friday which is going to be one for the books.
Affiliate marketers have a chance to
capitalize on this sales extravaganza no matter what they are running and what traffic source they are using, so you should get ready.
How? Well,
preparation is key, so we are going to cover the things you need to do in advance as well as during the sales weekend to make the most of 2020s Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
First things first
Before doing anything you need to
set your mind on your strategy: what are you going to run? What traffic sources are you going to use? What are you going to do pre-sale time and on Black Friday itself? What can you use to get insights and what will help you get the edge on your competitors? Let’s try and figure that out.
First:
set your mind on the offers you are going to run. Remember: Black Friday is not just about buying large TV-screens and nutra products, but also a sale on all things digital: subscriptions, VODs, games, anything there is with a price tag on, likely will cost less.
The things that don’t really have a price tag on too will be more attractive to people: be it sweepstakes, CC-Submits, or even casinos with BF promotions. So there definitely is something to choose from, if you are wondering what school you run — don’t hesitate to ask your affiliate manager, they can provide their experience based on data from previous years and campaigns.
Then you need to
take a closer look at the traffic source you work with and especially with its ToS (nobody wants to sort bans and other problems in the midst of buying storm, so make sure that everything is nice and approvable).
Then head to the spy-tool of your choice and take a look back in time. See the angles and approaches your colleagues used and adapt them to your offer.
Don’t forget to take a look at search trends, Google Trends and SEMRush can help you with that, so you actually know what was hot during the last Black Friday. Cases by other affiliates from the last year will also be of help to you.
Targets are locked, campaigns are loaded
Now let’s talk about pre-sales activity. Pre-sale campaigns are a total must for a few reasons:
- You can test your BF-centered angles and approaches, so you can find out what draws the most attention and what works best
- You can also test a variety of offers, some of them may benefit greatly from Black Friday and some not.
- You can start gathering a base of emails, push subscriptions, and leads in general, so you will have a “hot” customer base on the 27th of November, and that’s quite a headstart.
- Also, you must test 2 different approaches: % sale and coupon-based. It may seem weird, but more than 3rd of all holiday sales work with coupons, so you should think this approach through.
- So, you have your “leading” product and the core idea on how to promote it and who would buy it.
But don’t put all eggs into one basket, make sure that you have an alternative or “plan B” product to promote, so you can still make a profit if your main offer turns out not so lucrative.
Create a set of designated Black Friday creatives
During Black Friday you can use your tried and true landers, but as
people are on the hunt for sales and discounts without a Black Friday mark your page may go unnoticed. So incorporate that into the design of the page and creatives you will be running throughout your traffic sources.
During initial testing, you can set your landing page up to offer a sneak peek of the upcoming deals and encourage customers to subscribe for notifications when your deals go live.
Going live!
Once the pre-sales end, it’s time to
hit full throttle and put all your effort towards driving traffic to the landing page!
If you’ve played your cards smart, then you already have a customer base, send them a notification (in case they’ve forgotten). Be it your e-mail lists, push databases, or other sorts of shortcuts to your customers — use it!
Start the campaigns you’ve prepared beforehand.
Don’t shy away from a higher CPC or CPM, as there’s going to be a bidding war in every traffic source and you must be the victor. You don’t have to fight for the whole day, select a few periods, and dominate the traffic auction. Make sure that your landing is ready for the avalanche of customers and there are all the tricks that will help you seal the deal.
Exit-Scripts with a small additional discount can help you make more sales,
countdowns and timers are established tools for increasing conversion rate (it’s the only day in the year with crazy discounts and the offers are limited).
Pay close attention to the user experience
Product descriptions must be
short and precise, all of the policies be it return or just cookie agreement must be short and non-intrusive, so nothing distracts the user or make him ask more questions.
Checkout. Make sure that it is
smooth and simple. Nothing kills conversion rate like a convoluted checkout process.
Recommend
Try and think about how to compliment the main product or go through every “people also buy” or “ people recommend”. Some people will be buying gifts for Christmas, others may look for a small gift for everyone in their families, and so on.
Help people buy more by recommending and offering gift ideas, so the receipt and your payout will be bigger. And the customer will be happier of course.
When the sales are over
After Cyber Monday ends it’s time to wind down, kick back, and relax, but you should do a few things first.
While the data is hot and relevant —
document every detail, so you can use it in 2021 and base your campaigns on your experience.
Make sure that you wouldn’t lose your customer base that you’ve gathered during those few days. You are going to need them, as the next shopping spree is just a few weeks away. Once your approach worked for those people, it very well may work twice. So you can
retarget your campaigns and make a profit on those who missed out on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, some companies offer an extended discount period so you may have the chance to get some more conversions.
Good luck on the 27th of November!

YepCast EP.5: Online Events and Networking during a Pandemic
YepCast EP.5: Online Events and Networking during a Pandemic
In our fifth episode, together with
Akram Hamam (better known as Akie) the founder of ABC, Affiliate Business Club, we dive into
online events and how networking changed during the pandemic.
In the affiliate marketing industry, we are used to travelling and meeting people at conferences all over the world. As a matter of fact, face to face
networking is at the basis of our business, and one of its most important components. However, the pandemic caused most conferences and events to be cancelled or postponed until, hopefully, 2021. Hence, event organizers had to move quickly to find alternative solutions to adapt to the current situation and turned in-person conferences into online events.
As event organizers, Akie and his team followed the same trend and wasted no time in moving online some of the events they had already planned at the beginning of the year. In only 40 days, from the beginning of the lockdown in Europe, they managed to host their first virtual event. What made them successful in this sense is for sure their
promptness but also the knowledge they had gained until that moment. Akie and his team had in fact seen the big potentials of online events and worked in the year preceding the pandemic to make those part of their overall strategy.
Online events come, however, with pros and cons. On one hand, online events are “easier”, and more cost-efficient to organize and to attend, which makes it globally accessible to a lot more people. On the other hand, it is challenging to keep the audience engaged and to do networking as we were used to.
Akie and his team have responded to the networking challenges by launching a new
ABC platform, a hybrid between a social network, LinkedIn, and a social learning experience. This gives the chance to people from the field to learn new skills and
network all year round without the need to meet in person. Are you curious to know more? Then sign up
here.
If you are interested to know more about how to organize events and you would like to get some tips on how to best network during these times make sure to listen to the full on

Affiliate marketing trends in 2021 - Yep Ads
Affiliate marketing trends in 2021
As 2020 is drawing to a close and marketers around the world are getting ready for a season of holiday shopping, we are going to try and
take a look behind the horizon to see what’s ahead in 2021.
We will cover trends for traffic and verticals for the first years of post-COVID world, where social distancing is key and shopping is done from the comforts of home.
Trending traffic sources
2020 was a
record-setter for almost every traffic source, as millions of people were stuck in their homes discovering funny videos on TikTok or engaging in political debates on Facebook and Twitter.
So let’s dive into affiliate marketing trends of 2021 and see
what the future holds for traffic sources and verticals in affiliate marketing respectively.
Facebook has been not only one of the biggest traffic sources on the market but also a source of constant struggle for those running Facebook ads. As political tensions calm down after the elections, the chances are Facebook will ease the restrictions and
make it possible to run ads without getting bans and headaches all the time.
Since Facebook is one of the biggest traffic sources there is, most of the verticals are suitable for promotion there, but nutra, gambling and E-commerce are go-to choices to make money.
While Facebook was banning everything left & right, advertisers were discovering new traffic sources — and TikTok with it’s millions upon millions daily users seems to be the new dominant force on the advertising market, and
TikTok flourishes attracting more and more advertising budgets.
While being a relatively new traffic source,
TikTok has already shown strong results for E-commerce and entertainment verticals.
So, if you are thinking that social traffic is going to be the thing, you are absolutely right.
TikTok has shown a completely new way of media consumption, making stories format the new benchmark. Now Facebook, Snapchat and many others are working on creating and launching their stories, so they can stay in the advertising race.
While Social Media traffic reigns supreme,
don’t dismiss more traditional advertising formats in affiliate marketing, such as
Pop and Native traffic. Pop may have been proclaimed dead a dozen times, but it keeps evolving and changing. Only thus it can comply with all of Google’s regulations on the new formats such as interstitials.
And there’s got to be a way for all of the adult-niche advertisers to promote their offers. So, Pop and Native are just the formats for that.
Still, given the ongoing evolution of every advertising platform and format, the main thing that has to evolve is people who run those ads and control the algorithms. And affiliate marketers of today are worlds apart from the pioneers of this field, because to succeed in affiliate marketing in 2020-21 you have to be a professional capable of crunching numbers and analyzing arrays of data, while composing an elegant yet effective marketing funnel.
But let’s jump into the verticals that are going to be on the rise in 2021.
Trending Verticals
Seasons change, presidents change, even climate changes, but almighty Nutra stays the same. And in 2021 immune-oriented nutra is going to be on top.
The pandemic may be far from over, but entrepreneurs are already
developing nutra products that help improve the immune system. Coupled with
CBD-products (CBD is being legalized in more and more countries, and the market is rapidly growing) it can become a goldmine for a skilled affiliate.
Especially those proficient with
Facebook and Tiktok.
Gambling is going to keep its position as one of the most lucrative verticals. And with gambling bans being lifted (Ukraine legalized gambling, Germany is on the way) new geos will be ripe for the taking.
Betting has already recovered from the COVID-induced decline, sports teams are taking new approaches to their fan bases and the games are back, even if sometimes without the actual audience in the stadium.
Social traffic fits betting best, so
Facebook, Google, and Local Social Networks are your way to go.
Sweepstakes is a vertical that shows strong results from year to year and relies on new products and services that appear on the market. In 2021 there will be plenty of those, starting with new iPhones and Android-smartphones to a seemingly ageless Xbox vs PS giveaways. And given sweepstakes’ versatility with different conversion methods, this vertical will bring profit for those experienced with cheaper traffic sources, such as Pop and Push formats.
E-commerce will be booming and gaining more and more ground during the pandemic, as many people have developed a habit of buying things from the comfort of their homes, and habits die hard. And more and more stores strive to build an online presence and invest heavily into E-commerce while cutting down on traditional brick and mortar stores.
When it comes to traffic sources for
E-com it’s Google, Facebook and Instagram and even Pinterest, as all of them are implementing more and more solutions to make conversion flow for E-com easier and smoother.
Every year the interest towards a
green economy and environment-friendly products grows stronger, and affiliate marketers should pay attention to the whole “green” vertical, be it vegan products or E-comm solutions for ethical and green stores. It is an uncharted territory of people with strong beliefs and very deep pockets.
While traditional betting is recovering and reaching new heights,
cybersport betting has shown big potential. There is good money to be made there as more and more cyber-betting affiliate programs and networks keep showing up. For now this is not the most competitive market because cyber-betting offers are not the easiest to convert, but it only means that there is less competition there, right?
Social and themed traffic is your go-to method.
2021 seems to be a year of new opportunities and approaches, but it has a dark side to it as well; there probably won’t be any major conferences (you know why) and digital networking seems to be the new normal. So log in to your forum of choice and install Telegram to meet you fellows from all around the world, because the networking of today is digital and it’s going to be that way for quite a while.
There will be a lot
of new lucrative and attractive offers throughout 2021 and you shouldn’t hesitate to try and test those out, but remember: evergreen verticals called that for a reason and if you have doubts on what to run — don’t shy away from some of the “old tricks”.
Develop your skills and gain traffic expertise, be creative and put in your time — and 2021 will not disappoint you!
And do not forget that Yep Ads is always there for you.

YepCast EP.6 – Rounding Up 2020 and Getting Ready for 2021
YepCast EP.6 – Rounding Up 2020 and Getting Ready for 2021
Welcome back to the sixth episode of YepCast! We are once again joined by Jeroen and Nelson to help us reflect on the 2020 year, and the impact it had on the affiliate marketing world. As well as getting a sneak peek as to what Yep Ads has planned for the 2021 year.
2020 was filled with many unexpected challenges and obstacles, while some companies suffered during this time, others adapted and thrived. For global business the pandemic was the great equalizer, it exposed many weak points of every system and organization, but in turn also revealed the character and persistence of other great companies. In the last YepCast we discussed the lessons learnt from the new way of working with the team adopting the hybrid & remote mindset, to help survival and sustainability of working relationships.
Between remote working, human isolation, or bombardment of news, all of these factors affect the way people functioned. Overnight companies and their teams had to adopt a new process to overcome the problems associated with such changes. And as mentioned in our last YepCast the best way to deal with such problems is through “communication and support”. As we have learned, the foundation of our survival during this crisis is increase communication, and increase level of support for the team. By channeling more resources and efforts in this manner we help create the bond in human spirit, and connection that we will all need to get through this together.
When asked if 2020 met Jeroen’s expectations, the CEO of YepAds told us that this was the most unpredictable year, yet it managed to bring solid results and the company now is growing and striving to reach future goals. In 2021 the ambition runs high with YepAds, with plans to develop new and existing verticals, attract new talent, and grow its size and scope in the affiliate marketing industry.
While hoping things are slowly getting back to the new normal, in 2021 we will begin to once again see each other face to face, Jeroen is positive that once things normalize the industry will show rapid growth, and those who seize the opportunity will flourish.
As mentioned by Nelson COO YepAds. 2020 has shown us that E-commerce is the biggest trend for years to come, as more and more people are climatized to the new format of consumer demand online. This will enviably create more momentum and activity in the online space. Once the crisis phase passes the companies left standing will have the best chance to gain more marketshare, YepAds has vision to pioneer that success, by developing, growing and attracting new talent.
But as the year draws to a close, both Jeroen and Nelson wished all of us to surround ourselves with the people we love, celebrate the good in this troublesome year, take a moment to reflect on 2020 as we welcome 2021 with a new mindset, let us not count the days when crisis is over, but let us instead make each day we have count to the fullest.

Looking into White Hat offers: Health Insurance, Home Improvements and Financial
Making People’s Lives Better with Health Insurance, Home Improvements and Financial offers
So 2020 is behind us (finally) but the year has taught us many things and shone a light on so many new approaches to living that we couldn’t think before the quarantine, Zoom calls and staying home 8 days a week became a norm, while people’s needs remained the same, and no matter how many games you play and apps you install, some problems are a given and need to be dealt with constantly.
Today we are going to talk about a few verticals that will see increasing popularity throughout 2021 and years to come (be it affiliate marketing or just general growth):
1. Health insurance
2. Home Improvements
3. And financial and credit services.
All of those verticals are as whitehat as they get, and people on the internet are looking for so much more than you can ever imagine and advertising networks (especially the big ones like Google and FB) are always glad to help someone whose business is actually caring about the end-user, so you won’t have to worry about being blocked and/or banned by the advertising network.
The most important thing is…
While staying at home many of us worried about one thing and one thing only – health. In a world where the only certain thing is uncertainty, insurance companies provide some degree of safety and insurance, especially given that the healthcare industry is one of the essentials.
The Healthcare insurance industry is growing (despite the fact the big companies are pretty much covering the whole COVID situation for their clients), and people are offered
healthcare insurance quotes that can help them make the first step towards being insured and healthy.
And the only thing that is needed to receive their healthcare insurance quote is to sign up, so you, as an affiliate can
help spread the information and receive commissions while helping people access healthcare.
(what kind of ad network would ban for that?)
You can monetize your traffic from a variety of sources with a simple funnel and CPL model. As for the approach, your goal audience is the 40-45+ audience, without insurance or looking for a better deal. On Facebook go with the interest-based targeting (as most of the uninsured people do look for medical advice on social networks and the internet in general). And Google can definitely help you with your promotions, just set up your landing or transit page properly and make sure that you use the related keywords.
If you work with more traditional advertising networks — native advertising networks are a great fit, as the news approach is widely used for such offers, and given the hype around all things healthcare in 2020 is in full swing, you will definitely gain some solid results from there.
Improving people quality of life
We did spend way too much time at home this year and tried our best to improve our homes, and as many of us found out it’s a lengthy and yet satisfying process. But it’s not just about making your place a smarter and cozier living space, it may be about fixing it up.
And that’s where you can kill two birds with one stone:
help someone fix up their place and make some cash on the commission.
For example: Fixing a roof in the USA can be a rather costly thing to do, but there has to be a cheaper way, right?
Yes, there is. The so-called roofing quote offers such as newroofrates.com. They may seem like a lead-gen offer where a person has to leave their contacts and receive the service he or she needs (in our case: roof repairing).
There are many similar offers in Yep Ads, and the best thing is: houses break down all the time.
Just be on the lookout for the weather reports or make an offer people can’t refuse in your ads.
Aim for homeowners, preferably the busy ones, avoid DIY-audience of any sort, and look for a 35-45+ audience if you are running Facebook Ads. Native advertising networks are a great fit for such offers, as such offers go well with news-related content and will do nicely near the weather forecasts.
But
the best time to run such ads is when things get bad, meteorologically speaking. Blizzards, tornadoes, and storms are your friends as they naturally create the demand. And once the demand is in, you should spare no expense as the window of opportunity will be short.
Cash up front. No questions asked
While COVID-crisis is in full swing more and more people plunge into less and less stable financial situations. And sometimes it takes just one thing, be it an accident or a celebration, to make people look for an additional source of income.
Or maybe someone wants to invest, or have a vacation, fix up a car…the list goes on. And so do the reasons for a person to seek some financial assistance.
And
with loan offers you can help people solve their problems or make their dreams come true.
In your creative definitely go with the idea of big banks not approving loans and your offer being a quick and simple solution that is just a few clicks away. In Q1 of 2021 people will still need new loans and support that you can provide.
Your audience is people who don’t own a home, but rather rent it (yep, Facebook knows this), and if they’ve googled some loans info then those advertising networks will assist you greatly.
SMS-traffic is great for loans, but your contact lists should be either new or unused.
And be careful misleading, money isn’t free, it’s a loan, and you don’t want to spoil your traffic quality.
For all of those verticals do your research in spy-tools and form a list of negative keywords, so you don’t attract the so-called “branded” traffic. With native advertising networks avoid big news outlets. And stay “in the loop” so your creatives and campaigns are time-appropriate.
In conclusion
As you can see, those offers provide valuable and much-needed services to the community, with the target audience being anyone with a house (literally).
Advertising networks would never say no to an ad that can actually improve people’s lives, so you wouldn’t have to worry about being banned and focus on working with traffic.
Contact your affiliate manager to find out more about Healthcare insurance, home improvements, and financial&credit services, and start monetizing your traffic with high-quality whitehat offers!

YepCast EP.7 –
YepCast EP.7 – How to Become a Top Affiliate Marketer – Interview with Attila O’dree
In our seventh episode of YepCast together with Attila O’dree, one of the top affiliate marketers in the world, we dive into his story and how he became the expert he is today. Attila shares some insights and tips on how to become a successful affiliate.
Attila has been in the affiliate marketing industry for a very long time. Everything started back in the ‘90s when he was only 15. What is surprising is that, back then, he wasn’t even aware that what he was doing was affiliate marketing. In 2008 affiliate marketing became his main job. Today he is considered in the industry a “legend” and he owns several online businesses that help affiliates in their activities, like Banners & Landers, a page design service; Iamattila, his own blog where he shares insights on the business; Iamaffiliate, a premium affiliate community & more.|
What sets Attila apart from other top affiliates is that he is approachable and is always open and happy to help others. He is a strong believer in karma and thinks that “what goes around comes around”.
In the episode, he affirms that being an affiliate is not an easy job as it requires many different micro-skills (e.g. designing on photoshop, coding, setting up domains, etc.). Next to these technical skills, being creative and business savvy is also very important.
But is it really necessary to know all these skills before starting as an affiliate? According to Attila’s experience, it is not. Certainly, the budget you have at your disposal will also determine how much you can outsource and how many tasks you’ll need to be able to do yourself. However, for those who are eager to learn the necessary skills, Attila suggests watching YouTube videos – he even learned how to fix spark plugs on a Porsche (pretty amazing!).
If you are thinking of starting a career as an affiliate or you would like to step up your game in the affiliate business, make sure to listen to the full episode. Spoiler: Attila also shares some unique industry insights and key trends he sees will be doing well in 2021.

Affiliate’s Guide to Valentine’s day
Affiliate’s Guide to Valentine’s day
All Lover’s day is just a few weeks away so it’s high time to prepare for one of the most beloved holidays of the year and it’s up to you to make the most of it.
As Valentine’s day is a heavily consumer-centered holiday every affiliate can find a way to make some profit in the upcoming weeks, especially those of you running dating offers. In this article, we would like to give you few insights into the opportunities the 14th of February brings us.
Finding a one
Affiliates running dating offers know that the core target audience is single people looking for love (or not looking as much as wishing for), most of the target audience are males from 25 to 45 years old.
If you are on the fence about choosing geo for your campaigns go with the Tier 1 geos, remember: Valentine’s day is a catholic holiday, and most Catholics live in Europe and the USA and Canada (and the conversion payouts there are so much higher).
If you want to go even further remember that love is borderless and doesn’t really care about gender and orientation, everyone wants to be loved!
While we are on the subject, love can be found everywhere, it may be a place where no one is looking or everyone is. We are talking about cams, after all, real human connection is one of the main advantages of these kinds of offers and you can let people know that virtual love can be almost as real…
Finding a keyhole to one’s heart
In your creatives be subtle as no one really wants to be reminded that they are single rather than being sold the idea of finding love for that special day. And don’t hesitate to check out last year’s holiday promotions to see what was run at that time in 2020, to get inspired by the best practices.
Don’t stick to a single version of your creative — make them different, all shapes and sizes, remember?
But choose an offer accordingly.
When it comes to headlines and CTAs you are still offering one night stand, but still imply that this is a way not to be alone at least on Feb. 14th. (yeah, it may seem weird for most of the dating offers).
So it’s all about it’s time to find your love, find that special someone, find your missing part, and so on (there are already so many headlines in existence, pick and choose).
As for more practical advice (that you probably already know):
- Match the language of your creative to the geo (European doesn’t mean English-speaking!);
- Love is fleeting, so create a sense of urgency;
- Finding love in the 21st century is always a few clicks and messages away! So use an “unread message” approach;
- Images of people always lead to higher CR;
- Dating offers show the best results when people are relaxed and are casually browsing the internet, so you won’t get high results if your campaigns are run during busy work hours.
Show them what they are missing and help them find it!
Spreading love
So first, if you are not sure: ask your affiliate manager about last year’s best performing offers, after all, they already have the data and are most definitely ready to share some insights.
As for the traffic side of things here are a few pieces of advice:
Launch your campaigns in advance, to actually test out your creatives.
- Initially go with the RON option to test out creatives and publishers as well.
- Pay attention to the CTR, as you need high CTR to see what draws the most attention, to run during the actual holiday (wouldn’t it be nice to know what would work during the day when people are ready to pay to find that special someone)
- Identify the best performing creatives and scale them
- Make sure that your creatives match or at the very least relate to the pre-landers and landers
If you can find the site traffic stats from the last year — you know what to do 🙂
For couples too
Okay, so now you have a general idea on the dating vertical during Valentine’s holiday but are there any other verticals and that can perform well and make you a few bucks in the process?
Yes, there are.
And it’s an oblivious one:
physical products.
Everyone eventually forgets to get him or her the present. Thankfully, so many online stores and shops are here to help the customer (and share a commission with you).
In this category you can go with all of the gift ideas you can imagine, toys, cooking, tools, lingerie, and everything up to gift cards (that can actually be a sweepstake offer…).
Work on your prelanders! You absolutely must convince the user that the package will be delivered on time (the 15th of February is a good day, but not that good).
«limited time offer, with free delivery to the door, and you have only 15 minutes before the next “guaranteed arrival shipment” will be dispatched, so hurry…»
So good luck in the upcoming weeks and hope that you don’t break any hearts!

Short Road to Profit with Short Videos. Affiliate’s guide to TikTok - Yep Ads
Short Road to Profit with Short Videos. Affiliate’s Guide to TikTok
2019 was the biggest year for Push traffic, 2020 was Facebook’s year, and 2021 seemingly will be the year for TikTok.
A good affiliate always keeps his ear to the ground and knows, that the traffic shifts to the platforms people go to, and, in 2021 it seems like everyone is already using TikTok.
Throughout 2020 TikTok was setting and resetting records for installs, in-app traffic volumes, and in-app purchases. So, people are there (average MAU is 800 million(!)), and they see ads. A lot. And you know how to make money by showing the right ads to the right people, so you should do something about it.
In this beginner’s guide to TikTok ads, we will cover the essentials of working with TikTok ads, so you can take the first steps on your journey to profit.
Upfront, on the tab, or on the house?
You can’t run a campaign without an account, so your first step would be pretty straight-forward. Go to the TikTok Business portal and sign-up. From there you can begin your work on getting the right account.
There are three types of those:
- A self-registered account (or prepaid),
The basic one, you sign up, post content, and gain some audience. Then you upload your creatives, pass moderation, and then you pay, upfront. If the ads pass, you top up your balance for at least $10, and you are good to go.
Bear in mind that if your account gets rejected your balance stays in its entirety and you can’t refund the money.
Tip: the best geo for self-registered accounts in Thailand, with the easiest approval process you can be ready and set in less than an hour. Not all of the geos will be available, but the big ones will be.
- Billed account.
Similar to the prepaid, with a difference that it can be only registered in 3 geos ( UK, USA, France). Otherwise, the process is the same: you sign up, upload creatives, pass moderation, and then you receive billings.
First billing — $5, then $10 and all of the consequent are $20. However, if your campaign has no problems your billing will rise (and so will your ROI).
- Agency-accounts.
Those are the most advanced ones, but getting them may be a little tricky to get, as they are available only to the agencies that directly work with TikTok, joining them comes with a hefty price tag: $500 minimal investment. With such accounts, you will get all of the goodies and features of the platform, so it very well may be worth the investment (especially once you need to scale your WH campaigns).
Tip: If during testing you are not sure if an offer is white enough — run it with prepaid accounts, it’s the cheapest way to see, how you pass moderation and be sure that you are “playing by the rules”, if you are sure that the offer is whitehat, you can run it on billed accounts and/or agency accounts.
Which ones and how many do I need? — you may ask. The answer is simple: you need as much as you can get.
Both of those account types can be purchased from a seller, just like for Facebook, so contact your seller (or find one) and find out more.
Vertical of choice
You can’t run campaigns without an offer to promote. So you should choose a vertical that you are going to work with. Among the best-performing verticals, right now are Nutra and E-commerce, as TikTok is implementing more and more features for selling goods and services online.
With E-com, you can pretty much run them just like how you would on Facebook, the best performance is shown by WOW-products (just dazzle people with the awesomeness of your offer).
The way Nutra is run is very similar to Facebook (with video), with impressive shots of the magic pill/cream/drop, so you may have some deja vu.
Bear in mind that moderation in TikTok is manual (moderators actually look through most of the ads that are being launched, it may take an hour or a day), so you’ve got to make sure that you run campaigns following all of the rules.
Campaign-tracking on TikTok can be primarily done with pixel (installed on the pre-lander), which can be done from the admin page in TikTok ads. There is a Chrome extension that can help you with the set-up. Don’t hesitate to check out TikTok’s manuals on the topic.
You can track events on the site, or in an app (for those of you, experienced with driving traffic to apps), and everything about event attribution and analysis can be found.
Cloud-based trackers can also help you track your campaigns,
Voluum can do that for sure.
Tips and tricks
- TikTok works by the CPC and CPM models.
- Use the KISS (Keep It Simple and Straightforward) principle.
- Don’t forget about spy-tools.
- In-feed videos are your go-to ad format.
- Before you even make a creative, check out TikTok’s “Why creatives fail to pass moderation”.
- Posting comments, likes and everything in-between is good for your account’s “trust”.
- TikTok is new, and the moderation is relatively loyal, and if you don’t use flashy and prohibited creatives, your campaign should run smoothly and the account wouldn’t be banned.
- Just as with Facebook, there is a rule for accounts: one account – one credit card for payments.
- You will need a lot of accounts, offers, and creatives, just for initial tests as accounts are pretty much expendable (except for the agency).
- E-com runs best.
- Ugly works! (just don’t make it too ugly).
- Follow the trends in TikTok, especially music-wise (it’s a whole different genre now!)
- And don’t shy away from exploring TikTok’s guidelines (as they will update it as soon as something new comes in)!
In conclusion
TikTok is a new platform that puts the new way of advertising in the spotlight, and you can make money with it. Working with TikTok is similar to working with Facebook, as a lot depends on if the campaign will blast off, and once it does, there is way less to worry about.
As affiliate marketers are always self-taught, we hope this article will give the general direction and you will make good use of the advice.
Good luck!

YepCast EP.8: Tips and Tricks for High-Converting Landers
In our eighth episode of YepCast together with Attila O’dree, one of the top affiliate marketers in the world and founder of Banners&Landers, we discuss the importance of landers in the affiliate marketing industry. Attila shares some insights and tips on how to create high-converting landers.
In affiliate marketing, high-converting landing pages are crucial. As an affiliate, you need to optimize your lander in a way that attracts as many actions from the users as possible. There are many services that can help affiliates achieve the best results and earn more money, such as Banners&Landers that has been in business since 2014.
Attila explains what important aspects affiliates need to consider when creating and working on landers before launching a campaign. As we also discussed in our previous YepCast episode, being an affiliate requires many different micro-skills (including designing, coding, etc.) but according to Attila, it’s not important to know them all. For instance, learning how to design landers and how to code is quite a challenge and therefore it is more time-cost efficient to outsource these more technical tasks.
Attila also mentions that A-B testing the landers is very important. During the episode, he shares some useful insights on how to best A-B test landers and on which variables to focus on.
Are you interested in getting more tips and tricks about how to create high-converting landers? Would you like to know how Banners&Landers can help you with their services? Then listen to the full episode!

Affiliate Marketing and Clubhouse. Overhyped Trend or a Legitimate Place for You?
Affiliate Marketing and Clubhouse. Overhyped Trend or a Legitimate Place for You, and Your Business?
Every once in a while we see an app that takes the world by storm. Clubhouse is the latest example of such a tendency, less than a year-old app had skyrocketed in just a few months, and then everyone was in the Clubhouse.
The reasons for this hype are debated, some say that Elon Musk has said just a few words and then like a domino everyone started getting in, some say that people were eager to talk to someone in a less formal but still engaging manner. Still, it seems like everyone who has an iPhone is there, and there is nothing we can do about it…or is there?
Affiliates in Clubhouse
As affiliates are always on the lookout for trends, and Clubhouse is definitely one, we would like to see if there is something worth your while.
The short answer is yes.
As Clubhouse is all about discussions and affiliates always have a lot to talk about, Clubhouse provides a cornucopia of chats and discussions on almost every topic imaginable. So if you are looking for a new way of connecting with like-minded people then Clubhouse is the place for you to talk and learn something new, or just share your opinion and expertise.
And, as you can see, affiliate marketers have already formed communities and some of them are lead by industry legends such as Lorenzo Green. And this is just the tip of the iceberg, as more and more companies and people are forming their communities and rooms.
Is Clubhouse profitable?

We wouldn’t say so, at least for now.
As Clubhouse is an invite-only app, you can’t just stumble there, so the user base eventually will be capped at some amount and the growth is already somewhat stagnant. Clubhouse is an iOS exclusive app. It means that the audience there knows what they are looking for and in Clubhouse’ case people entering are going there to listen to someone, so no – there is no infinite news feed, filled with ads placements.
And as you know on most affiliate offers CR is noticeably lower with iOS users…
But if a good conversation of value to you then you can greatly profit from this app as it looks to be a good substitute for lumping forums of old and hectic chats that can scare you with the amounts of unread messages.
So as a traffic source Clubhouse isn’t much. Again – for now, but we would keep a close eye on it.
Once you are in
As you can see Clubhouse has a lot to offer straight away. Be it topical discussions, influencer’s channels, or something else it’s entirely up to you.
Joining chats and groups are easy as it is, and you definitely can figure out navigation but if you want to create your rooms and set the tone of the discussion then you’ll need something more than just the default tools.
Beware: a lot of club-somethings coming your way.
Clublink — a tool for you to make your Clubhouse link easy and available for social networks sharing
Clubhype — make a preview of your chat room or a channel for social networks
Gethostnotes — make your events bigger and better! Collect RSVPs, tips, set up an agenda, set the rules, share links, and more!
Withcomet — similar to the previous one this one helps you create and organize events of a larger scale without hiccups
Clubhousebio — well, it’s in the name. Bios are the first thing people see, so make an effort.
Club Recorder — recording tool for Clubhouse events, this one isn’t free, but it’s better to pay a bit than miss a whole much.
Luma for Clubhouse – an all-in-one tool for you to create an event page for Clubhouse event with built-in Room analytics & monetization features!
So as you can see, or rather hear, Clubhouse is a promising social network, that provides its users with the essence of social interaction: talking to each other. Right now everyone who has an iPhone is using Clubhouse and it is a good way to connect with your fellow affiliates, influencers, or maybe just friends.
As a traffic source for CPA-modelled advertising, Clubhouse is not really a go-to destination, for the aforementioned reasons, but maybe with time, someone will find a way to make a good buck on Clubhouse audience.
See you on Clubhouse!
