Can't scale with Revcontent

Hey Guys,

Revcontent has been a nightmare trying to scale on native. For one particular campaign, we are running on desktop, have tested over 102 creatives, but still can't get it past $250/day consistently.

Whenever we launch new ads, we can spend $500-$600 for the first day, but then it dies the next day. Our average placement position is 3. Any thoughts on what we can do?

I'd say your CTR is not high enough, or drops quickly... when the campaign is new, they (algo) push it more to assess the CTR, once it starts to decline, you go down in the bidding chain and cant reach the volumes you had on day 1 when the campaign and ads were fresh.

I would test more ads to see if I can make some that would have higher CTRs.

What about daily budget and the balance you have on account... not sure about revcontent, but some networks take this into account.

BTW: We have a new member here, with lots of native experience, maybe they might now so lemme tag @nativeq here

Hey rfiredig,

When you're doing new ads launches, how many ads do you test at once? Also, on how many widgets you're spreading your budget to? After you spend 500-600 in a day, do you just kill them all and start fresh again? What's your current ctr on the ads?
I'd say, without knowing all the answers to these questions, as matuloo said, your ctr is either super low, another thing would be you drop the bid too much in the exploration phase where the ads need to learn, and this could also explain sudden drop. ?There are a lot of variables to look at.

Hey, thanks guys. @nativeq:

1. We usually test 6-10 ads at once
2. We're running across the full network
3. No, we never kill the campaign. It just doesn't spend
4. For desktop, we're at around .025%. But we're at around 2-3 in placement

Where do you start your bids at for desktop and mobile?

Not sure how much you let it spent/ad, but if you've tested over 102 creatives, which is a lot, i'd be looking at traffic sources more in depth & bidding .
You should be able to determine your bids and have an average so far on what gets you spending in the first day. I wouldn't drop bids too much in the first days after launch (as long as you watch it closely)
PS: you could also try taboola or outbrain, their inventory is great, more room for scaling.
