content locker + cpa?
Hi,
Sorry if this question has been already asked. being new to STM, I can't seem to figure out how to do exact match search(?!)...
Q: would it ok/effective to add a captcha locker before sending visitors to the final offer page(currently sweepstakes)?
Is a captcha locker from OGADs considered as incentive traffic?
Many thanks!

It will affect the CR on the sweep campaign for sure. Since less people will eventually end on the submit page logically.
Unless you make the captcha feel like a “natural” step it won’t hurt that much, maybe even increases CR!
Make sure it’s a relevant step in the funnel at least otherwise it only will annoy and people will drop off.

Why do you want to use a captcha plugin on the LP in the first place? Is that to get rid of bot traffic?
As stickupkid mentioned, you will lose a significant amount of users that way, it will catch large part of the bots for sure but I don't think the loss of real users is worth it. The more "annoyances" the users have to go through the bigger the drop-off will be.

A standard captcha, such as "are you a human test" is not considered as an incentive, you would have to offer something to the user if they signup for the offer, for the traffic to be classified as incent.

Thanks for your advice! Just to clarify, the reason I thought of adding the captcha locker was to see if I could double dip, increase the conversion value... Based on your comment, I guess the answer is no?!
Fyi the captcha locker will show the content locker type of pop up requiring the visitor to complete an action before being able to reach the final destination... To clarify, this is considered as an incentive?
Many thanks! :-)

It might make sense to double check with the advertiser, to stay on the safe side.
But, the way I understand the incentive strategy, it's based on bribing the user to make them signup for the offer or watch an ad.
So for example: any mobile game that gives you in-game credits (gems) for watching an AD. You bribe them with the credits, so they watch the ad. That's incentive based ad views. They want the credits and 90% won't even pay attention to the AD itself..
OR
You tell the user to signup for an offer, check out the members area, then come back and type in the first word they see in the members area... when they do that, you give them some credits. So you're bribing them with the credits and making them finish the offer signup procedure, to get the credit. And again, they want the credits, they don't really care about the offer at all.
What you are about to do, is to heat them up a bit, make them believe the offer is something special and they have to go through some extra steps in order to reach it. This sounds more like what we are all doing with the LPs... questions, age checks, spinning wheels etc... so I don't think it should be considered an incentive.
