OS Targeting for RevContent?

Hi Guys,

I'm somewhat new to Native traffic. I'm currently running an offer on Revcontent that's been running for about 3 weeks now and is about breakeven, its on Desktop traffic and spend is evenly split between Win & Mac OS.

Just noticed now that the Windows traffic is very profitable while Mac is the opposite. Unfortunately RevContent does not have OS targeting. So, what can I do to achieve some kind of OS targeting on this traffic source? Or is this just not possible?

I'm thinking about copying this campaign over to Voluum DSP and do the targeting from that platform, but I just much prefer cpc biding vs cpm.

Is it possible to do OS targeting thru theoptimizer.io? Is there another way?

Hey,

defo you can copy to Voluum DSP. I'd suggest that you check in the DSP Planning Tool how much traffic there is for your targeting (GEO, OS, etc.). On top of that you can check the placements available.

TBH I'm not 100% sure about theoptimizer.io. I found this but maybe they added OS by now.

Thanks,
Justyna

Unfortunately RevContent does not have OS targeting on their API neither.

Have you checked what is the traffic distribution between Mac and Win on the widget level. Basically a drill-down by OS > Widget can quickly help you create a better idea on this. Then based on the results you get, you may then need to block widgets that are mostly sending Mac OS traffic and keep those where Win OS dominates.

Then the other option is to copy the campaign on Voluum DSP, but since the pricing model differs from CPC to CPM you will need to use good ctr ads as well as keep a close eye on low ctr level widgets to avoid overspending on those that just generate impressions, a few clicks and no conversions.
