Help! Google Adsense account banned

Hey guys,

So a few hours ago I got the classic generic "invalid traffic" email from Google. The Adsense account is approx 8 years ago. Currently there is about $16k oweing in the account.

I was running search arbitrage to a custom search engine setup through Adsense. As far as I can tell we complied with all Adsense policies.

This is the first month we hit over $10k. I am wondering if that triggered some sort of manual review.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best path forward? There is an appeals process which we will look into. If anyone has any experience with that I would be grateful to hear it.

One thing is for sure. It has certainly left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth towards Google.

I was able to get one adsense account back, it required some back and forth with the support. But, we have been quite heavy adwords advertisers at that time in GEO, which is a small country and our account manager from the adwords support team apparently knew someone on the adsense side who could pull some strings for us. I need to add this was quite a few years ago, so the situation is most likely different now and the teams are now totally separate so it likely wouldn't help these days.

The way I see it, the only thing you can do is go through the appeal process, stay polite and try to request a manual review, in case that didn't happen yet. The chances are pretty low though. And in case you did something against their rules, it's a done deal.

Wow, that sucks. I got a couple ‘invalid traffic concerns’ messages in my Adsense account. This stopped adserving for a while but we recieved the funds. I tought they did not disable accounts anymore.

Are you sure it’s allowed to run search arbitrage thought adsense?

What kind of traffic where you sending?

That's the plan. We will go through the appeals process as best we can. We are also reaching out to some Adsense partners to see if they can be of assistance.

I cant see anything to the contrary. I have read through all their terms & conditions a few times now. But if anyone knows otherwise please let me know.

Pro Tip.

If you want your Adwords rep to leave you alone just ask them to help you with your Adsense account.

Total silence after that...

Is it really that bad these days? Back then it helped me a lot, but yes, that was several years ago.

I don't have any sort of relationship with my rep, maybe that's why. They just call & email me a few times a month to schedule a call to tell me to spend more money.

They also get swapped out with a new rep every couple of months so you don't really get a chance to build any rapport.

Well after spending hours going through all our analytics data to write an appeal with lots of data, metrics, etc. Google took about a month to get back to us with a standard template response.

I don't think they even considered anything we put forward in the appeal.

So it didnt help at all, sad to hear that.

BTW: quite a few website owners in a niche that I follow are switching from adsense over to this ad network: https://www.adthrive.com/ and many report better performance. Ever heard about them?

There are more like that, I just read an article about how massive the differences are... from $3 RPM with adsense all the way up to $30 with some of these smaller networks.

But, these smaller ones tend to be focused on certain niches and they like to work with blogs/websites ran by a specific person, so it kinda mixed with influenced marketing. But the returns they can provide are massive compared to the adsense peanuts.
