Hello everyone!
Small introduction
At the beginning I would like to say: Thank you Amy!. Your tutorial is pure gold and for a newbie like me it is great to start with something like this. Another thing that includes a lot of knowledge is "Follow-Alongs" section. This is the main reason why I've started mine. I am not afraid to make mistakes, I am afraid that I will keep doing them unconsciously. My goal is to finally get green campaign but I also wanna treat this FA like my journal and share it to others. For me, those Follow-Alongs threads are like extension to the Amy's tutorial because here comes the moment when you transform theory into actual action.
I will not include each day of the tutorial that I am going by. I've read it all and now I am just launching my first campaigns and I want to share them so you can point out my mistakes. Any feedback is more than welcome so please share all your thoughts - we all are there to learn as much as possible and maybe this will be useful to someone just starting out who doesn't want to start FA.
I am a complete newbie in affiliate marketing world. I've gone through $1 guide and through 40-day guide (I've read everything, now I am just looking for my first profits). I have read a lot of other threads etc. One thing that I am wondering about is which traffic to choose. Someone said that when starting out it is good to focus on one traffic source and master it which I completely understand. And there comes my question: Is it much harder to start with Push instead of Pop/Redirect? I know that there is 1 additional thing to do (creatives) but I don't want to go quick route.
I read that Pop campaigns are tend to be lasting for a few weeks. I am not gonna lie that I like "long-term" approach to everything I do and I know that it will take much more time. I know that there isn't one good answer. I would just like to know if Push campaigns are lasting longer than Pop campaigns. I will handle the "creatives" issue as there are many great tutorials (Thank you Twinaxe as well!). And which verticals would you suggest for a newbie to start with while using Push traffic?
Alright, I've written a lot but haven't said a word about my campaigns so it's time I guess.
Campaigns
I wanted to test not one offer but a few. I decided to create 4 campaigns.
Campaign 1: $0,32 payout, Thailand; Traffic Network - PropellerAds
Campaign 2: $0,24 payout, Malaysia; Traffic Network - PropellerAds
Camapign 3: $0,05 payout, PhilippinesTraffic Network - PopAds
Camapign 4: $0,24 payout, Malaysia (Actually the same as Camp. 2 but I was targeting only Mobile + WiFi due to offer restrictions); Traffic Network - PropellerAds
Landers: All of landers are from either STM Landing Page Depository or Adplexity. I always tested 5 landers at the start.
Offers: I am running "proven" offers (at least my AM says so). 2x campaign with 2 offers. 2x campaign with 1 offer. All of those offers are sweeps with smartphone as a prize.
Budget: Budget for each campaign was: Number of landers * Number of offers * Payout *10.
Test process: I was checking campaigns stats until the campaign budget was 50%. I seek conversions and I found them. At this point I've chosen a winning lander for each campaign. For campaigns that included 2 offers I've chosen one so at this point I had winning lander and offer. Actually 2 of campaigns made at least 2 conversions, with a conversion rate better than one conversion per 10x payout. So I blacklisted unprofitable placements that were in loss by 2x payout or more. After doing all of that I've launched campaign again to use the rest of the budget (50%).
Below you can see stats from

Questions
So I've got 3 questions at this point:
1. Is it a mistake that I've created and tun 4 campaigns the the same time? I wanted to launch a few campaigns to see whether any of them has a chance of being promising. But maybe I should just focus on 1 campaign?
2. The most promising looks Campaign 1 (Thailand, $0,32 payout). The stats you see are from 1 day of running traffic. Should I run a few more days? I've cut only like 3 placements and haven't done any optimization. Should I focus on this campaign, let it run for 2/3 more days to collect data and then optimize? Or -80% ROI doesn't look too good?
3. Do you always use the budget calculated by this formula above? Let's say that budget was 16$ (5 landers * 1 offer * $0,32 payout *10). Should I run this campaign whole day tomorrow with the same budget or increase/decrease it? Maybe I should react depending on performance and ROI?
I have applied to other Affiliate Networks while my campaigns were running so hopefully I will have more AMs that will give me proven offers (Right now I have only one)
Oh, yeah. Actually I came up with another question. Amy mentioned not checking campaigns too often as you waste your time. So what do you do while your campaigns are running? Do you work on other campaigns, create different ones from scratch or anything else? I want to remain productive during that time but I have no clue what should I focus on.
That's it for now. I am sorry if my posts will be too long but I want to describe everything with details so everyone who is just reading and not posting can learn a lot (Of course I will learn more as well).
And really big THANK YOU to anyone who will read it and respond.
Quick update:
I've cancelled campaign 4 as there were 0 conversions. I stopped campaign 2 as well because for whole day today I had only 2 conversions.
For camp 1 and 3 I've cut placements and let them run today to gather more data. I let the 50% budget run, then I stop, cut placements and let the campaign spend other 50% budget.
ROI for camp 1 is -65% and for camp 3 is -70% so it is slightly better than yesterday. However, I think that tomorrow I will increase bid because after cutting placements I had a problem to spend the rest 50% of the budget and campaign was spending this budget really slowly.
Today I have also been accepted by many affiliate networks. I reached out to AMs for best converting offers in tier 2/3 GEOs and I think I will choose a few of them and test them but on a Push traffic.
