How to start on Native? (9)

How to start on Native?

I've been promoting health offers on Facebook (whitehat) and they've been very profitable for me, but the account shutdowns that come with promoting health are starting to do my head in.

I want to make the switch over to Native and was wondering what the best way to start is?

I've been reading a lot of the follow alongs and tips in the native section and that's been really helpful. I've been thinking about buying James Van Elswyks course, has anyone taken this?

Or is it best to just do as much on my own as I can, launch a campaign and learn from that?

Also, what are people's experiences with Voluum DSP vs working direct with the ad network?

Would really appreciate some experienced opinions on this.

Thanks!

Unlike facebook, native requires some more attention when it comes to campaign optimization.

If you've been using pre-sell pages on Facebook and plan to use them on native too, then you are on the right path. If not, I would highly recommend checking out on spy tools on what type of landing pages are being used for health products that are promoted on native ad networks and start using similar ones.

James had his last course in January this year and maybe he's planning on a new one. But, since you are an STM member, I guess you can leverage other member's documented experience on follow alongs, then start your own campaign and create your own follow along where other members can jump in for help.

When it comes to choosing which traffic source to use, I would say it would be best to check their compliance policy first and make a shortlist of the ones that allow similar health offers to the ones that you are promoting. Once you have a shortlist, pick one to go direct and start your first tests.

I don't have experience with VoluumDSP, but basically when you compare running through it vs directly on the traffic source, the first difference to note is the pricing model. Most native ad networks use CPC pricing mode, while VoluumDSP CPM.

James Elswyck course is well worth the time and cost. I wish I had it when i was started.

IMO its easiest to start running with a good large network that is a good fit for your funnel. Make sure to get an account manager, they can help out a lot.

I would add Voluum DSP later on to scale.

DSP has a lot of sources, but many of them come and go. So it's better to optimize your native funnel running with a source directly first.

Yes, I agree with jack. Loved his course.
Lool at his conference at AWA 2017 to get an idea:

And here is the section where you can find the tutorial: https://stmforum.com/forum/forumdisp...ewbie-Tutorial

Hey,

If you’re already successful on facebook, taboola and outbrain are great for the health space niche. ( this is where i was able to generate 7 figures and where my major focus was, but other networks are good too for health)
1.For the offer lp, i’d start with reading their guideliness first to make sure the product is legit to run there :

https://www.outbrain.com/advertisers/guidelines/

https://help.taboola.com/hc/en-us/ar...-Page-Policies

2. Definitely invest time in courses, videos, tutorials, consulting-they will pay off in the end.
3. Make sure you allocate a larger budget to test and get a feel of the platforms (if you want to spend 500$ there and expect to crush it from the start, less likely to be successful from the start.( don’t get discouraged fast)
4. It’s also best to test yourself too, make a test campaign, see how the platform works, learn the kpis to hit your goals etc.
5. If you’re successful on facebook already, you can use the proven headlines, just make sure you play a lot with the images ( your ctr on native will make a huge difference)
6. Native requires a lot of attention and a lot of hours to monitor until you find a sweet spot that will convert for you( you need to watch and adjust your campaigns like a hawk)
7.i’ve only bought directly from the networks, so i cannot give a feedback on Voluum, but i know dsps usually do well.
8. Once you get approved and make it work, less likely to get banned on native, so it’s a long term investment, as long as you stay competitive with your testing.

I have heard great things about the course too, but personally haven't done it yet. It's kind of a paradox - "before- after" ads work great in the health niche, yet that's something FB hates. Possibly due to bad user experience.
Have you thought of anything other than native - pinterest, instagram, youtube? Even though Facebook owns Instagram, once you have 10,000 followers, you can use the "swipe-up" feature in Instagram stories and it's for free. Then how well you do will depend on your followers targeting and enagagement of the page, among a few other factors that are way less important than the two.

Another vote for the James Van Elswyck course. Best ROI of any BizOpp course I've ever purchased... can't recommend it enough.

Is it the best native ads course or "any BizOpp course ever" ?! : )There are a few great courses and brand names out on the internet that we trust. And of course LOTS of crappy ones that waste time and money, leave a pretty bad taste in the mouth even to taste the good training after them.
I really really need to squeeze in some time for this one even though I am personally not into native ads.
Cheers!
