Hi guys, is there someone who run cpc dating/adult campaigns in Japan or South Korea? What traffic sources do you use?

Looks like not many are doing it, the market is a complicated one, due to cultural differences and language barriers... that's why there are not many offers either. The traffic itself is not a problem, all the major adult networks have plenty of JP or Korean traffic, it's just hard to make it work.

I was looking at videos about dating in Japan a couple of weeks ago (actually, after the topic mentioned by Matuloo). There is a real cultural gap. I would recommend watching youtube on the keywork "dating japan" for a couple of hours. There are several videos of expats giving details about their experience on dating apps, info about the host/hostess market. I found lots of interesting angles to use, but you need a Japanese native speaker to write copy, as Google Translate, and even Deepl are really not good for japanese translations.

I think the reason I've never entered this market is because the difficulty of the translations, and I think in general Asians are tech savvy people so they are harder to convert lol. I think culturally they are just trained to be skeptical/cautious people lol (note: Im asian lol)

I think if you were a native speaker you could probably put together a decent funnel, but if you're relying on translators, it's probably an uphill battle as likely anything that isn't translated perfectly will raise red flags lol.

Interresting, can you link me to some of the videos that you watched? I was always wondering why the JP market was so tough when it comes to dating... language barrier for sure, the cultural differences too... but I never looked deeper into it so it might be worth watching

I've been running plenty of offers in asian countries with great results... to be fair, never in Japan though. So I'm not sure whether it's about the tech savvy-ness to be honest. I guess it's in the different views and cultural stuff that makes it hard for us over here in europe to convert these customers.

Sorry I shouldn't have over generalized lol. I was referring to just Japan and Korea.

I have just never been able to convert these geos.

I did watch this channel, but it is in French. French guy married to a Japanese and living in Japan for the last 15 years.

Try to find youtubers either foreign or Japanese doing videos in English, and you will likely find videos about that.

What I understood for Japan is that the new generation is not really interested in dating and sex, so that might explain why classic dating offers are not working. On adult traffic, I guess there is a market for toys, sex robots and all the crazy stuff they have for sale, as well as some local services that people are paying huge amount of money for, such as host/hostess. Like lead gen, but that would require to have local contacts and a good level of Japanese.

For Korea, I shall ask one of my former colleague who has been living there for a while.

I’d like to add from my side, that if you’re going to work with Japanese market, try to find some kind of Japanese local consultant, who will help you not only with language peculiarities, but also with mental characteristic.
Also, what you should obviously do – to hire a local Japanese designer for your promo materials.
Because, what’s weirdness for us, is pretty normal to them.
Even Europeans, Americans who have been living in Japan for a long time can’t get the gist as native Japanese for sure.

I tried to crack the JP market on my own and failed miserably. The help of a local is pretty much mandatory.

Japan is a specific GEO... I've been able to run successfully in a range of Asian countries but Japan was out of my reach.
