Tracking sales for private deals
Hey i want to setup my own private affiliate deals and track sales from traffic i drive to other websites. These brands are are not on a an affiliate program.
I want something which makes it easy for all parties to set this up e.g. doesn't require us to install anything such as tracking code on their checkout.
How would you recommend me to track conversions?

Installing a tracking code/pixel would actually be the most accurate way of handling this.
But there are other options too, but keep in mind that some sales won't be tracked properly.
There is google analytics that can track purchases, but it's not accurate. Especially in case of multi channel promotion and when they have more people promoting their business. But if you use the UTM tags it's at least something.
You can use coupon codes, get a specific one for yourself, then every sale done with it would be credited to you. But you will lose sales where the coupon won't be used.
I'm sure there are other ways, let's wait for some experienced ecomm people to chime in.

Yeah coupons seem to be the easiest method, but then again you need to trust them to give you the number of sales.

I mainly work direct and ask advertisers to provide me a unique/fresh domain, only for me. This way tracking not needed and I am sure notbody else has the ability the rape the domain, apart from myself ;-)

Interesting, i like this idea, so you would duplicate their site and just adjust the domain slightly and keep all the branding the same?
e.g if you did a private deal with a site like:
https://www.steadystate.com.au/ you would duplicate their entire site on
Shopify (obviously with their permission)?

I suggest to copy a funnel/prelander/page only, not a whole shop. It's just matter of getting a unique links so they know it's coming from you and no one can rape it.
My advertisers just copy their current page and host it for me seperately, so everything the same only the URL isn't shared!
