Not sure if this is exactly the correct place to post this, but it seemed like the closest match.
I have good relationships with a lot of the major and minor business owners in my area, so I have started a separate business to help local businesses increase their bottom-line by utilizing all online means (SEO, Social, Video, email, etc...). I am looking for a comprehensive application or service that could analyze a business's "online presence" and generate reports for the target business, as well as competitors to then show the target client a contrast between how his competitors are getting clients online verses what he is presently doing. Which of course is a great lead-in to proposing our services with the hook being that we can quickly put him in the position to steal away all of the customers his client would have been getting instead.
Does anybody know of anything along these lines?
The only thing close to what I am after is part of Mike Koenigs big guru Main Street Marketing Machines product and you have to be a member to use it, blah, blah, blah... It's called "Influence Engines" and it's actually a really cool snapshot of how a business looks online in all aspects (SEO rankings, Social, Video, any negative customer feedback postings, complaints about the company, etc...), but the downside is it will take an initial snapshot and generate a nice-looking detailed report, but (guru alert!) if you do not pay for their service to actually solve all the issues listed in the initial report, you cannot run a subsequent comparison report down the road to show the client what has changed.
I don't mind spending $500 per month to join their little club to access this thing, but then like I said, if you do not pay them to do the work (which I think is another $500 for each client), you cannot run a follow-up report to show the client all that has been done. Now, I don't begrudge Koenigs anything, I think if you can sell a product for $3-6K that only 'fully' works if the client pays you even more for another product or service and the client is happy to do so, you are a fucking genius in my book and good on ya. But, certainly if I can find the same thing elsewhere for vastly cheaper, that's more money in my pocket each month without having to develop such a tool myself!
The gist of it is I want to be able to run an initial "Proposal" report and then a future report to show the client what we have done for him and how we improved his online reach and reputation. Of course this would be in addition to him already realizing much more tangible results such as the increased leads and profits he has seen from our efforts. The future report would just be icing on the cake and a cool deliverable that could be run a few times a year to further secure our ongoing monthly fees to maintain and guard against the client losing what has been built by our efforts.
I have seen a couple other services that are loosely similar in delivering the type of report I am looking for (e.g. ubl.org), but they are typically only based around SEO and the reports look shitty and are not really at the "Client Deliverable" level in my eye.
