Novice from UK, looking for help please!
Hi all,
I'm from the UK and joined STM at the beginning of April. My journey here has been somewhat slow and that's down to me taking my time trying to learn things with ZERO experience in AM, coding, the works! My experience lies in sales and a bit of marketing however, a friend recommended STM to me a while ago, and the more I looked into it, the more interested I was to learn it and. I'm so determined to make this work, but more determined to learn it all and learn it well!
I followed vortex' $1 guide and had a little success from my first campaign. However, since then, whilst following the 40 day guide, I've had no luck with further profits (which from my understanding is pretty normal at such an early stage). I've been accepted only by Mobidea. Clickdealer rejected my application and I never heard back from Gotzha even after follow up emails. I choose to go with Voluum as it seemed like the right option for me.
I reached day 14-15 and began learning coding. Having completed HTML and CSS, I started trying to learn JavaScript, but that totally went over my head. So I decided to take a break from that (having spent 2 weeks trying to learn coding) and felt it's best to refresh myself on running some campaigns. I'm not sure if this was the right thing to do but I went back to basics and ran a campaign as taught in the $1 guide only this time instead of using the smartlink in Mobipium, I asked my AM to send me some good converting offers. I ran an offer she highly recommend using PopAds with a small $5 budget (only for testing and optimisation) however, this offer did nothing for me. I've looked at my campaign since then, and can't figure out where I went wrong and I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me understand. (Apologies for so many screenshots coming up) Here's a screenshot of the offer I was recommended from Mobipium:

Here's an image of the campaign report on PopAds:

Here are all the screenshots of the criteria I selected during the campaign setup on PopAds:

From reading other newbie follow alongs, I know that a lot of the newbies have some sort of related experience, and I know that I have none whatsoever, but I'm willing to do everything I can to learn, I just need some help and guidance along the way and I'm certain I'm in the right place for this.
Looking forward to an incredible journey!

Hello, mate!
First of all, great job on taking on such a big challenge and succeeding in your initial steps. Be mindful of the fact that learning jS is not at all as easy as HTML or CSS. And while it's certainly helpful in your path towards being an advanced affiliate marketer, it's not 100% necessary. Remember that you can always commission programmers if you have big projects that require jS, graphic design and so on. If you learn how to do it yourself, it will save you money in the long term. But for now your projects have smaller budgets because you're just testing the waters out, so try to take it slowly.
- Are there any main differences between how you ran the campaign initially and how you are running it now?
- Have you considered that it's possible that the advertiser might have changed something regarding the offer itself from their side, impacting your conversions?
- Have you tried using different traffic sources and playing with the bids? Typically, a lower bid means also lower quality traffic. I know this is a low payout offer so you shouldn't be spending big money on it, but it's a factor.
- Can I ask why are you using language targeting? For example, it's possible some of your potential conversions have English language by default for their browsers, despite being arabic speakers. Valuable information for most GEOs you might be targeting and most offers.
- Generally, carrier traffic has higher quality vs WiFi traffic. Which is why many users create separate campaigns for each, using different bids (Carrier Targeting is more expensive, quality reason.)
- Wherever you have the possibility, exclude browsers "WebView" and "Others". In your case, you might want to exclude very old versions of Android as well. They tend to have a high bounce-rate.
The world of Internet Marketing is always changing, we all adapt to its changes to make profit. Don't be discouraged if some of the offers that make money for you in the beginning start suddenly burning out. Reasons can be plenty, either to do with the offer or simply a publisher that was converting for your offer which is no longer available from the traffic source you are using. Can you check to see if the ID of the sources that provided you the most conversions is still sending you clicks? If so, you might want to try also creating a whitelist campaign on those specific sources with a higher bid.
If you're looking for more traffic and advice, you're always welcome to try us out as well or to PM me. We try to help our advertisers as best we can

Thank you, completely agree, I won't be diving into JS anytime soon as I want to continue with the 40 day guide (it's already been more than 40 days and I'm not even half way through it)

- I've only run this campaign once so I wanted to know how I can optimise it when I re-run it.
- I've increased the bid a little and have added all the languages as per your suggestion. I only used language targeting because I thought it would give me better traffic. But you made a good point, thank you.
- I can't see "WebView" and "Others" in my browsers. I have taken out the old versions of Android though.

Thank you for the words of encouragement. I will try re-run the campaign and see what stats I end up with.

What about what I mentioned regarding the conversions?
You should try whitelisting the sources that converted for you previously (on a new campaign) by using an even higher bid and then exclude said sources from your initial campaign. I noticed in the screenshots that you are tracking them with postback so you should be able to identify them.
Also you would need to decide at what level of $ spent per source you will start excluding so as not to over-optimize the campaign. If your payout is $0.80 for example, it's no good excluding a source at $1 spent. But I imagine you wouldn't want to go much higher than that either, so maybe someone has a suggestion on how long to let sources run before optimizing.

Hi! How are you?
For some reason I cannot see the images that you posted. Do you remember what kind of offer your AM in MOBIPIUM recommended? What GEO and vertical?
Let me know, maybe I can help!

Hi @
florsa
So sorry, I accidentally deleted the images on imgur so they disappeared from the post. You should be able to see them now.
