Pasabas completes Vortex' 40-Day Tutorial! (17)

Hi all,

This forum is awesome, and I'm really glad to be here!

This tutorial is the first thing I've done in this space. After getting to day 16 I spent some time reading other follow-alongs, and decided to make my own. Nearly every one I read stated they wished they'd started one sooner


Background:

• Currently working a pretty standard 9-5 job remotely.
• Have budgeted $2000 to get started, but can put in an additional $500-1000/mo if needed.
• Background in sales and politics.
• Some extremely basic programming knowledge.

So far I've gotten to day 16 except for a couple key points. I haven't been accepted to ClickDealer yet, and I didn't apply to Gotzha because I wasn't sure how to answer the business model question yet.

I think I have everything squared away with tracker domain, Voluum, PropellerAds, Mobidea and started the direct-link campaign yesterday. So far, about 2k~ impressions and no clicks -- not that I'm surprised!

Mobidea doesn't seem to have many sweepstakes offers and hides EPC pretty deep, so getting accepted to ClickDealer/Gotzha now seems like a big priority.


To-Do:

• Wait for more data to analyze from the direct-link campaign.
• (Consider upgrading Voluum to Profit to get better reporting tools. May wait until I've got my first lander+offer set ready.)
• Follow-up with ClickDealer in 2 days
• Apply to Gotzha
• Try to develop a relationship with an AM at one of the networks that can recommend some good sweeps
• Complete the recommended CodeAcademy courses
• ...Then get Adplexity and start prepping for the first offer+lander campaigns!

Quick update today:

Been playing Skype tag with a Clickdealer AM for the past 48 hours. Timezones can be annoying! It seems I didn't get an email they expected me to get, so that may explain the hold-up.

I am still in a holding pattern before proceeding to day 16/17. Mobidea doesn't seem to have dedicated AMs for new affiliates and doesn't seem to have a good variety of sweeps.

I picked up the Adplexity subscription to familiarize myself a bit as I wait.

I got one conversion on the direct-link campaign in KE, so I don't really have any data to test.

I have begun reading FAs by nitrousoxide, manchester, and jaybot. This has definitely been helpful in... setting expectations for the first six months.

Hopefully I'll get excepted with Clickdealer or Gotzha soon so I can start grinding in earnest!

I actually have not been accepted by Clickdealer or Gotzha so I'm interested to see how you get on. The Clickdealer AM didn't seem interested in talking to me much after I said I didn't have any proof of earnings haha!

Thanks for that feedback and best of luck to you as well @Powerxat ! I wonder if Clickdealer and Gotzha have gotten less newbie friendly since the guide was written // the virus times. Did you just press on with Mobidea, or did you get accepted somewhere else?

They just got back to me again actually (different AM), it seems they want reports/payments from other networks before accepting. I don't have much proof of earnings yet. So I guess I'll get back to her when I do.

Yes Mobidea but also Yep Ads who were easy to apply to and have lots of offers including lots of sweeps.

Still have not heard from Gotzha.

Clickdealer AM resent the email that hadn't gone through, sure enough looking for screenshots of earnings and traffic. Sent a SS of traffic from the direct-link test, but very not optimistic.

I guess Mobidea doesn't assign AMs, but I sent them a query regarding SOI Leadgen sweeps in tier 3/4 geos. I can only see 4 total SOI offers on Mobidea, so not particularly optimistic.

Seems like I might have to go with a DOI Sweep on Mobidea for split testing. I will also apply to YepAds. Do they have the SOI offers Vortex is recommending, and does anyone know if I'm just missing them on Mobidea?

There are loads of SOI offers in loads of geos on Yep Ads. I cannot confirm if they are good or not, however!

It's been a slow week.

After Clickdealer rejected me between the 13th and 18th I applied to a few more ANs but only Zeydoo accepted me. Mobidea and Zeydoo had such limited options for Sweeps to test landers that I put a pause on the 40 day guide.

I played around with direct-linking push subs (to no success thus far, but pretty interesting and educational) with Zeydoo offers because they had quite a few of those, read the forums, and pouted for a bit.

Having not heard back from any other ANs, I reached out to Henry W w/ Clickdealer and got approved. Very excited to have this opportunity, and have an actual AM to reach out to if needed.

The sweep my AM recommended is a pinsubmit -- is that a bad idea? Vortex references SOI for testing landers. Not exactly sure whether that counts as a SOI flow or not.

I have the same situation going on with affiliate networks. Mobidea was easy. Clickdealer finally came around. I have applied 3 times to Gotzha with 3 different accounts and have gotten zero response. Have you tried Mobipium from the $1 guide? They do not have much sweeps going on right now but it was a very newbie friendly network to get into for later down the line.

You don´t have to run sweeps.

Pinsubmits are not a bad idea per se.

There are good ones out there and they are often a good option to make more money (because of higher payouts) in lower Tier geos.
