for the past few weeks we have spent significant amounts trying to crack youtube ads.
we have managed to find some videos that people actually watch but now we are dealing with a weird problem where people watch the entire video but do not click.
here's the type of results we are getting.
i'll use simple numbers so its easy to explain...
1000 impressions, 800 views, 500 full views, 4 clicks
what the above means, is 1000 people get shown the ad, 800 people watch the ad past 30 sec, 500 people watch the entire ad and 4 people click to go to the website.
how is it possible that we get so many people watching the entire ad but none of them click?
why would they watch an entire ad but then not click?
out ctr on youtube ads is the worst we have ever seen anywhere even though people watch the ads.
we literally get less then 1% of people who watch the entire ad to click.
wtf is going on?
anyone else running youtube ads here?
please help
Maybe the video is an emotional one and makes people wanna watch it 'till the end but they're not that interested into the product? Could you show us the video?
I only ever made one conversion on Youtube before they banned me (I had no idea what I was doing and was running Clickbank offers aggressively) but I seem to remember from geeking out on videos about Youtube ads that one of the most important things was the duration of time which your CTA is up at the end. They said that if you only have your CTA up for a couple seconds before the video ends it dramatically lowers your click through rate, so you want it sitting up there for quite awhile.
I also remember them talking about the importance of disqualifying people in the first 5 seconds so you don't have to pay for them. So "If your not interested in making money selling wolf mugs on
And then I guess the other important variable would be what they are clicking to... like are you doing webinars? Linking to a vsl? Email capture/freebie? Ecom store? Etc... So I suppose its possible you have an awesome video but the incentive to click isn't high enough (no idea without seeing your video but just thinking out loud)
Again though you have much more expertise than I do considering my brief stint buying ads on Youtube so those are just shots in the dark
