iwanturcoins' Payday Loans Follow Along!

Whats up guys!

Ok so I feel like i've kind of hit a plateau of sorts and can't seem to take that next step but am not far off. i've had a couple of $100/days but nothing consistent at all.

I seem to find campaigns that have potential but can't seem to optimize them well enough or i get campaigns that convert really well for a day or two then seem to die off so i'm going to do a follow along to get some advice on my optimization process cause I i'm pretty sure this is my weakness right now.

Follow Along is for Payday Loans, I have done some testing with this but couldn't seem to get it to work but have done a new LP and have an offer that converts. I'm going to start with URL's that i've previously had conversions on and some others with decent traffic.

Campaign will be run from 9am - 9pm EST Mon-Fri.

Not trying to hate on the follow along but before you go and test this you may want to hold off because this time of year is the off season for payday loans as a whole....

the people who most often get payday loans will be starting to get their tax refunds in the next 2-3 weeks, meaning they will be flush with cash for the next few months or so...

I know your not from the usa so I figured I'd let you know this....

UK loans are still prob an option....

again not saying you can't make this work....but historically this time of year is very poor for payday loans.....

but switch this to a Tax camp....and it could rock....

good luck

Cheers for the heads-up mr unicorn! i'd already run it overnight before i saw that so i've got some data to post anyway

Spend : $50
Conversions : 2
Revenue : $23.50
ROI : -55%

LP1 - 108 views 22 clicks CTR= 20.37% 1 Conversion
LP2 - 101 views 16 Clicks CTR= 15.84% 1 Conversion

Seeing my LP's are getting good CTR and converting i might run for at least another couple rounds of testing playing king of the hill and see if I cant improve on this start seeing it looks promising....at worst i'll have a decent LP to run with down the road.

So i'm going to split LP1 and test a different image to see if can improve conversions.

I want to keep testing some images and try get that conversion rate higher I think. The LP with the new image got an extra conversion which is promising and left me at nearly breakeven.

So I killed 3 targets which were the top 3 in volume incidentally, they had hit $10 with no conversion, and looking at them for why they didnt convert - 2 had no photo of people and the third was a multi option site with a receptionist lookin hottie :-) All seem to have "blandness" as a commonality.

And, looking at the 4 converting sites They all have 2 things in common, they all have a man on them and 3 have children. 2 sites have young families, 1 a young ish dad & son and the other which has 2 conversions has 2 business lookin dudes. The other commonality is they all have short forms on them........soooo i'm going to test an image of a young family next.

Because I removed the 3 highest volume targets i did'nt reach my $50 spend, fell short at $42 so i'll go through my URL list tonight and seperate all the urls that seem similar ie short forms & with families/men and add a few and keep the rest to test later. Also notice that conversions seem to come earlier in the day but i'll wait til I have more data before doing any day parting, when I do, it should get my spend down a little more.

Round 2 of Testing

Spend : $41.09
Conversions : 3
Revenue : $37.00
ROI : -10%

Todays LP Stats Overall LP Stats
LP2 - 67 views 17 clicks CTR= 25.37% 1 Conversion ROI = (29.30%) LP2 - 175 views 39 clicks CTR= 22.25% 2 Conversions ROI = (52.88%)
LP3 - 77 views 12 Clicks CTR= 15.58% 2 Conversions ROI = 7%

So going to keep LP3 and split test a new image of a young family. Will run with the higher paying offer from now on. its not much data on it but it has an extra conversion and its paying $3.50 more which is make a fair difference!

What are you targeting bro if you dont mind me asking?

01-14-2012 06:02 AM #8 iwanturcoin (Member)

just US payday loan URL's at the moment. Some scraped from google and some competitor sites from networks.

01-15-2012 06:12 AM #9 iwanturcoin (Member)

actually gonna leave those 2 LP's running to gather more data

01-17-2012 07:34 AM #10 iwanturcoin (Member)

So, only had the one conversion today and killed another URL,

Round 3 of Testing

Spend : $34.70
Conversions : 1
Revenue : $13.50
ROI : -58%

Todays LP Stats

Views Clicks CTR Conversions ROI
LP1 64 17 26.56% 1 (26%)
LP3 66 15 23.73 0 (100%)

Overall LP Stats

LP1 239 56 23.43% 3 (45.68%) Conversion Rate= 1.26%
LP3 145 27 18.62% 2 (43.13%) Conversion Rate= 1.38%

So i guess i still need some more data cause there isn't much between them so far except higher CTR LP1 but that could easily just be variance due to the smallish amount of data.

maybe try lower your bid on the targets you killed because some times you have profitable targets that you can remain profitable if you get higher position.

just pause the target for now and stick with your budget then try give them a chance one by one again with lower bid.

good luck
