outbrain not tracking properly
Hey guys, can anyone advise where i've gone wrong with my tracking setup?
I'm running a affilaite offer (hasoffers), traffic source is outbrain and tracker is Thrive.
I'm reporting traffic, creatives, landers and conversions OK, but i can't see stats for sites or widgets/positions
ie - when i drill down to "custom variable - Pub ID or Target Site" it just says unknown.
Where do i need to amend my tracking to see where my ads are showing?

Hey man - I also use Thrive and if I remember right when I first started on Outbrain I had same problem... I think I had to change a couple variables for it to work... here's what I have now:
&OutbrainClickId={{ob_click_id}}&campid={{campaign _id}}&creaid={{ad_id}}&atitle={{ad_title}}&dtitle= {{doc_title}}&pubidx={{section_name}}&pubid={{publ isher_id}}&secid={{section_id}}
I believe section_id might be the one that was originally missing... Could be wrong though...

Thanks so much for that Jack - i've just added this to my tracking URL and have unpaused the campaign, i'll soon know if i'm tracking correctly!

Apparently its an issue with my configuration. I heard back from Thrive overnight:
We've checked your click/conversion log and we did not find those variables populated. It looks like you are not using whole campaign URL since your variables come to us empty.
The "unknown" data is all variables that came completely blank.
I would advise you to check your campaign URL setup at your traffic source.
I've already raised this with Outbrain this morning.
I'll get to the bottom of this somehow!

Can you please post a screenshot of what your Outbrain configuration looks like on
Thrive? There most probably must be something wrong with the token configuration. It can be potentially caused by an extra space that breaks down the URL tracking parameters.

Are you not "cutting the link in half" and adding one half to the "tracking code" box on the campaign setup?
That part stumped me to begin with because its different than most traffic networks.
If your
Thrive campaign link is:
https://afadfdasf.com/click?trvid=10662&OutbrainClickId={{ob_click_id}}&campid={{campaign_ id}}&creaid={{ad_id}}&atitle={{ad_title}}&dtitle={ {doc_title}}&pubidx={{section_name}}&pubid={{publi sher_id}}&secid={{section_id}}
Then you need to enter the half that I bolded above where it says "Track > Suffix" on the 'Edit Campaign' section.
Then you need to use the non-bold section as the actual link you enter when you are creating your ads..
You probably already are doing all of that, but just wanted to mention it just in case.

Sure thing - this is the campaign URL i used in outbrain:
utm_source=outbrain&time_stamp={{time_stamp}}&ad_i d={{ad_id}}&ad_title={{ad_title}}&doc_title={{doc_ title}}&OutbrainClickId={{ob_click_id}}&campid={{c ampaign_id}}&pubidx={{section_name}}&pubid={{publi sher_id}}&secid={{section_id}}
I haven't configured anything for my traffic source when i added it to Thrive - i think this is the issue?

Thanks Jack - i tried to make this mistake when i launched my first camapign in Outbrain, but it wouldn't accept my URL string!
