Chatbots as Prelanders

Hi
I wanted to check with all of you fellow STMers, if any of you have tried chatbot for fb messesngers of other browser based chatbots, as pre-landers for ecommerce (marketing via natives, facebook or any other channel).

I have been getting ready to do some testing with same, just wanted if any of you fellows have tried and if yes what sort of results you guys have got.

Thanks

I've used some for dating offers... a bot-female was trying to start the conversation and after a few messages a join prompt popped up. It worked pretty well when paired with a chat-like banner. It can work well with livecam offers too but I guess it could show solid result with any offer that is communication based.

Personally, I've never used it with ecomm product, but I see chat windows popping up on a large amount of eshops and other ecomm platforms, so it can definitely help to close a sale. But I assume the bot would have to be pretty advanced and be able to answer questions related to the product.

I never really tested it but if you want to test it here is a pretty cool free chatbot script -> CLICK HERE

It´s easy to customize and HERE you can see it in action

I've used a handful of Chatbots in various offers, almost exclusively with ecomm and lead gen. Below is a list of the different set ups I've used:

1. Facebook Messenger - This was just integrated using the Facebook code and the basic chatbot functionality that can be set up within Facebook. It served more as a conversational tool then it did a revenue driver. You can set this up pretty quickly and it will work if your needs are basic like optins, answering questions about products, etc. For something more complex, I'd recommend using ManyChat mentioned below since you have more control to custom.

2. ManyChat (Facebook Messenger Integration) - This tool is really well built and has a ton of value. You can create flows for ecomm where users can purchase directly in the messenger bot OR you can gather leads directly in it as well. The visual builder on the back side is nice and easy to use. You just set up your actions, messages and whatever else you need to be successful. This is great for getting people to optin to your messenger list, but I've never successfully set up a purchase flow where users were buying in the messenger bot. I think this concept it great to us Marketers, but might be hard to grasp/make customers feel a bit uneasy so they are hesitant to purchase.

3. Zopim or regular non-Facebook chat - These are mainly used for questions, answers, and general support. I set it up in the past where within the answer of a question, you prompt the user to make a purchase OR send them to a purchase page for a specific product that means the needs of what has been outlined in their question. This worked. The functionality of these isn't necessarily set up for creating a nice chat flow.

If you want to talk more about your specific situation, I'm happy to help. Just give me some more info.
