[POLL] What Part Of Your Work Do You Wish You Could Outsource?

I'm doing some research around outsourcing in the affiliate industry.

We all have that part of our affiliate work that we either hate, or we just aren't good at.

In the past, there were always things I wanted to outsource, but I either had a bad experience hiring the wrong person, or I never got around to it because it just seemed like more work.

So what would you want to be outsourced if you knew it wouldn't be a hassle?

I'm curious to hear your thoughts! (you can select multiple answers)

While campaigns setup, tracking and optimization is something that most affiliates get familiar as time goes by. I think some of the most outsourced tasks would be:

- Server installation and maintenance (including security related stuff)
- Advanced landing page coding and customization
- Accounting

All of the above require hours of learning as well as experience, so in order to avoid any serious issues, outsourcing them could be a better option.

Your point about security is so key. I had my servers multiple times before I hired someone to look after them...

And yes accounting is the worst..that's one of the first things I outsourced.

Accounting would be a big one for me. Especially if it's done by someone that understands the industry and the terminology / payment systems etc.

Next to the list would be a tech person to integrate systems together ( like setting up google analytics + goal tracking, pixels, push notification collection, email collection etc ).

Finally, a good designer and copywriter would be the cherry on top.

LOL!! Landing page design and anything else that's tech-related seems to be the pain point.

It's MY pain point too!

For me its accounting stuff, design work, coding work and some copywriting when I need a long copy in some niche/vertical that I'm not familiar with and translations. The rest I handle inhouse

If I could be assured of quality and trust, I would love to outsource everything.

Hey everyone it's been a while!

So far I have my landing page design/dev mostly outsourced, aside from quick edits on my end. Have an admin/operations assistant starting next week, so hopefully I should have all my small admin tasks outsourced.

I'll be doing all the copywriting myself for a while, but it's the thing I enjoy the most. Honestly, it's my dream setup if I could just write copy and the rest runs on its own haha.

Finance. For taxes mostly. Accountants are way better at that stuff.

The problem with copywriting, if you're good at it, is that it's really hard to outsource and see better results.

That's true for several things on the list

For me it would be Accounting mainly, but I would love to find at least 2 good remote workers to handle them Creative Design, Research and uploading ADs/maintenance.

I've been a full-time aff marketer for 7 years now. But now with the Corona Stuff, I think I'll just find some other people to do the grunt work for me.

Is Upwork still the place to go for hiring IM-related workers?

Upwork is really hit and miss. Problem is always of quality. I have learned, at great cost, that a lot of the portfolios that workers put up there as part of their profiles are not reliable, as there is an active market in trading such accounts for people on Upwork. Sometime you get lucky, but really takes a lot of time to separate the wheat from the chaff.

I think I might have an amazing solution very soon...

As a result of this economic downturn, outsourcing will become part of the standard playbook for any affiliate operation that has decent scale.

I'm looking at the profiles one by one and saving some that would be useful. But what you said is a real issue if their info is not reliable.

But I just realized I need to let this fear of not handing down some tasks. I could have workers running verticals I'm not running because it takes too much time, but I have experience in those and are evergreen.

@mrgreen if come up with a simpler solution that would be great man
