Are 15-20%+ click discrepancies normal for US/UK traffic on FB?

Hey y'all

Was just wondering what kind of click discrepancies you guys are seeing on US and/or UK traffic on FB?

Since I started running a few weeks ago I've had an average of around 17% but last few days it's been slightly over 20%, for example yesterday FB said 1044 clicks vs 823 clicks recorded in my network. I'd assume some will be lost anyway, since the network only records uniques, FB geo is not always 100% bang on, etc. 20%+ seems kinda high though and it sucks cos my roi would be pretty much 100% without it lol

So I was thinking about testing direct linking (as in aff link without my own tracking, I'm not using an lp), try new hosting, etc. Just wanted to see first if this kinda traffic loss is normal on FB?

My current setup is cpvlab for tracking and hostgator vps for hosting. It seems to me hostgator is kinda frowned upon lol, I've never had any issues with it before on my current traffic volume though, which is 1000 clicks per day and I'm looking to scale (so hopefully I'll have to upgrade my hosting anyway).

On a sidenote I really gotta say BIG thanks to everyone contributing on this forum, I'm starting to see a little success on FB and the info in here has been really, really helpful. Especially Mgrunin's legendary pictures thread has some great info and tips that I've applied to my campaigns, so thanks a lot man!

cheers!
Kjell

are you sure it's not filtered out clicks (fb ad checker)? If IP looks like this 66.220.145.* then it's the checker

Hey Nah it's the clicks I'm getting charged for, the ones in my FB report page.

I generally have anywhere between 75%-95% of my clicks getting through, i.e. 25-5% click loss. I find it normal, happens across all campaigns I've ever done, usually worse when a campaign has been going longer or you add new images.

You have 1) Normal click loss from people clicking the ad then exiting, or accidentally clicking
2) Out-of-geo clicks
3) Duplicate IPs (person may have been sent there previously by someone else)
4) Duplicate IPs from people clicking the ad when they have already clicked before <- idiots, have forgotten or new image or copy fools them. They may still convert though!

Supra to all that you have shaving of leads etc.

Hey Zeno, thanks for the input! Then it sounds like things are running pretty normal for me too (some days I've had as low as 10%), I'll def keep working on that roi and not worry too much about the clicks It does indeed make sense that it gets worse with more images and longer running campaigns.

same thing happens with me in UK around 25 % lost clicks and i would be doing 100 % ROI.

Yeah same here approx 25% in UK! UK discrepancies are worse than US for me so far.

but some of this clicks goes to international offers so probably its because of idiots choosing different country xD

The idiot here is Facebook for showing ads based on what country users set in profile, rather than focusing on users IP. Really unprofessional IMO

if you're running regional camps there's a way to avoid that... Reports --> Responder demographics.. I've not seen this mentioned here before but it's a GEM of a tool.. So run a camp, see the responder demos and uncover hidden markets/age demos + other gems

It's deff normal to see this. Networks (typically) only track unique links and redirect your duplicate clicks, same with Geo Redirects as well. @mojstermiha is right here - Unfortunately FB does this based on the setting on the account.. however, lately I've been showing ads based on IP across a few of my dumby accounts. They may have recently fixed it.
